This is supposed to be a fun community... there is no requirement to be a pro graphics artist... just have fun... play with things on your computer... practice makes perfect and you never know with a little work you may discover some hidden talents :wink:

There are many good pixel artists on this forum and while personally I am not a big pixel person myself I enjoy looking at their creations. Then of course there are the individuals that are starting out and their creations are a bit more painful to look at :wink: however I firmly believe that they should be encouraged as we never know they could be the next top pixel artist in the future. As for too much pixel and not enough other forms of art...well whats stopping ya from posting? If you do not like whats out there do something about it. Post some of your creations be it abstract, photography etc and ya never know people may pick up on it and the forum could turn. But as long as you just sit there and talk about it, it will stay just the way it is because people are happy doing pixels.

I had the problem with my laptop and pc... turned out that my routers firewall was blocking out my laptop... I had to configure my router to let my laptop into the network... What I did was access my routers settings to tell it that the new laptop was part of my in home network and to recognize it. Once i did that i had to restart the laptop and all was well. Good luck with yours.

I bought my gf an olympus digital camera a while back and we have both been very happy with its ease of use and image quality... I paid 100 bucks for it and its a 3.2 meg. Here is the newer version of her camera to give you an idea http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1154 Prior to my purchase I bought and tried out a few others.. so you might consider trying out a few cameras in your price range and return the ones that do not meet your needs. Personally I own a Kodak that I bought about 5 years ago... I am not sure about the current model Kodaks but cannot complain about mine. Good Luck :)

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yea its much quicker and easier to play with real legos ;) however, since I am only a novice at 3dsm it seemed like a fun project to work with... I still cannot render my final version :( its just too large for my laptop at 162,000 kb and I am not sure if there is a way to make the file smaller so I can render it successfully... As far as the blacks I was trying to follow the colors it showed on the plan for the building and the text was not the focus of my creation :lol:

Not sure if you caught my edit...before you go insane trying to figure out the filter problem see if it does it only in certain modes.

The hourglass, floor, shadow etc look very much like Bryce to me :? it looks like you tried to use some gradients on portions to make it look like it was from photoshop but I believe your original work came from Bryce. In either case there is nothing wrong with creating it in Bryce and editing it in photoshop. I would suggest you work on keeping cleaner lines that will improve your image editing results considerably. Keep it up.

I believe if you reset your preferences by holding down Shift+Alt+Ctrl. And of course on the Mac with Shift+Option+Command on startup it will take care of your issues. If this does not work you can try resetting them as follows: Delete the preference file and restart Photoshop. They can be found: Windows 98: Windows\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\6.0\Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings Mac: They are in the Adobe folder in System. If that does not clear up your problem I would suggest contacting Adobe for help. EDIT: I forgot to mention that when you use different image modes some filters are not available ie all filters are available for RGB however not all are available when you use CMYK that is most likely your filter problem. The best advise has already been given, be yourself. She likes you for who you are not for what someone says you should do. However, something to consider... If you and she will be going to different schools next year you will both make new friends and find different interests. This has happend to me when I was younger and my parents moved a lot causing me to be enrolled in different schools. You find that you and your friends or girlfriend want to stay close and do things together but with the new friends it becomes more and more difficult until you break up and basically stick to your own crowd at your own school. That is not to say it will happen to you, but its what tends to occur. Hmm, I thought on page one you said you liked Jabraultars? Care to be a little more specific ie. critique each piece so we know what you are looking for after all your request has been a bit vague and everyone has done something with that silly torus knot. Things to help us would include colors you like, style of art etc.

I had the same problem recently with my laptop and the issue was that it was overheating and shutting down as someone mentioned... I had this problem on another laptop I owned previously and had to resort to using ice packs for a while (did not want to pay the $$$ for the repairs) but a word of caution the unexpected shutdowns ended up messing up my hard drive and resulted in my losing a lot of info from the unit when it crashed... Good luck with your laptop.

Nice work. Try adding a little more detail to it, some shading darkness where shadows would be, lighter where the light would hit more directly etc :) Keep up the creative work.

Reasonable force tends to mean that you use equal force not execessive. For example if someone breaks into your home and just stands there and is not threatening then you cant go wailing on him with a baseball bat. If however you asked him to leave and he says he is going to kill you then you can use whatever force necessary to prevent that. As far as eating in a vehicle, being one that does it all the time I will start off with people should not engage in activities that distract while driving. Here are a few that I have witnessed. 1. a guy shaving 2. a lady putting on her makeup 3. someone eating something out of a bowl that looked like cereal 4. talking on the phone 5. cutting hair 6. getting dressed 7. engaging in intimate behavior 8. smoke the list could go on but i have to run... I also have handsfree through the radio phone system but i find that it distracts just as much as talking on the phone so to me there is no difference between the two. If you must eat while driving I suggest things that dont make a mess ie, burger, hot dog, fries, ice cream cones (very comon thing to do where i live)
