Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out
Oh... well that's plain dumb, if you wanna advertise or not that's your problem lol. They did asked for votes and won, twice, but then again, nobody really cared about that award and in my personal opinion (and I think you will agree with this), I do hate watching them bragging about it as if it was a big deal and rubbing it on everyone's faces, like if others cared at the time. Now that another game cares, the thing automatically changes, that's the part I find incredibly hillarious, how much you wanna bet they will be like "meh, it wasn't a big deal" if they lose.

As for using marketing, I think most people, including myself, only mentioned that because other games didn't use it while Jagex did. Now another company uses it and the result automatically varies. I think you are mixing things up a bit. A company marketing does not makes them evil, the matter of cause is not even discussed here, what I meant was what jagex did and how they achieved the award before, that has absolutely nothing to do with their reasons to win it, you're implying that just because I said how jagex achieved the award, I will automatically think the same about other companies that do the same, where yet again, their reason wasn't really brought to discussion. However, now even conditions are met by more than one nominated games. People didn't stood against jagex for that, they were just saying how jagex achieved it before, whatever you think about them deserving that award or not, that's your opinion and only yours, so keep it to yourself as I will keep mine for myself.

In case of LoL winning: >Rs advertises the award to win it for 2 years >The third year other company does the same >That other company wins >Only jagex did it the first 2 years >What if other companies did it during those 2 years? >feels bad man In a nutshell if you still don't get it.

That's where I got that message from, like s/he posted it on facebook or youtube I think that is? and then reposted on forums, altho the poster made it clear s/he would rather remain anonymous, it is very clear s/he's a rs player, post was deleted/moved and the next day, bam! announcement lmao...

Why do you think I find this funny? And by Irony, I repeat yet again, it would be funny if LoL wins because they decided to announce the award like runescape did on previous years, while LoL didn't. I don't care where most voters come from, just pointing out how that would be funny if it happens. I know people are not voting for runescape, I didn't either, I voted for LoL actually. RuneScape won last 2 years because they advertised it while the rest of the games didn't, now we got LoL doing the same thing, with a bigger playerbase (that alone is enough to win the award as most people who play LoL and are now voting/voted already didn't even know of the award to start with), what do you think is going to happen? (add on top of that the people who play rs and are voting against it). See what I mean? Don't take so much credit on rs people voting against jagex as if it was crucial, runescape actual playerbase is very small compared to LoL. All they had to do is announce it so people get to know the award, to win it, and they did already, rs players voting againt rs are just the cherry on the top.

You make it sound like if I was the one who wrote that message lol... I know about it because I got friends who play both, and I was told about this couple of days ago, which actually made me laugh, even more after reading the message. I'm not making it a big deal, I'm just enjoying how Jagex makes it a big deal, and then another game uses the same move to make them realize how little they are when even conditions are put into place. Let's be honest, if every single game nominated advertised the award, how far you think runescape will get?

When they announce the winner I guess, either way, I'm laughing my ass off already. This is turning into a "who says more bs about the other" thing, lmao.

What irony? You act like the majority of people playing Runescape are voting for Jagex this year. Have you, like, not been reading this thread or the thread on the RSOF (if it's still there)? Granted, they're only a small sample size, but I'd be willing to bet that it's a pretty good gauge of public sentiment. LoL winning would be more about people being disastisfied with Jagex than LoL being that good. (Btw> I voted for LoL's, and haven't ever played that game.) The irony is that Riotgames decided to use jagex's move to get votes, and win using it. I'm not acting like people are voting for jagex, in fact, if you look at the comments on rs portal at golden joystick site you'll see most are negative comments xD. And LoL winning would be about their own community actually getting to know about the award. Also, this is the infamous message someone sent to riotgames. Source prefers to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.

Hahahaha I saw that too and couldn't help but laugh. I think it's pretty much garanteed that rs will lose this year's award. From what I was told, SOMEONE (or more like a group of people) who also plays rs, SUGGESTED Riotgames staff to make an announcement about the award, and it looks like they did rofl. Now that's what I call even conditions, let's see if rs can win against a game with more playerbase using their very own move, oh the irony lmao. Another thing I noticed, the "popularity" towards LoL has changed drastically recently, before they made that announcement, LoL portal on golden joystick award site had way less comments/tweets/circles/etc. than rs one, but in just 3 days they have passed runescape in every aspect but comments with an increase of 2000% (20x), and comments passed rs ones with an increase of 150% (1.5x). Not only that, their youtube channel is ranked 3rd on monthly subscribers AND GROWING. If only other games did the same thing for previous years awards lol. Jagex, I advice you to pick a cheek and prepare it for the super bit... slap of reality you have coming.

Bilrach to be a playable character?
Sagas are stories of the past, so his current fate doesn't really matter. Besides:
-
where are the strange rocks??
Ya, before you could only get rocks from cage and net fishing, now you can get it from fly fishing, bait fishing, harpoon, etc...
-
where are the strange rocks??
Ya, I meant purely for getting rocks, crayfish is the fastest way now since monkfish appear to be nerfed really bad. If people want xp, you can now get fishing rocks from cavefish and rocktail also.
-
where are the strange rocks??
I usually do agility second (after hunt which I do first most of the time) and I always get both rocks within 20 laps, maybe 1 or 2 exceptions where it took me 50k xp, but that was using penance horn. I know xp rate per skill also affect rocks spawns, so maybe the horn helps. Fishing rocks were updated I think, they would take 1-2 monkfish inventories but now it can take hours using that method, so crayfish gives the faster fishing rocks now lol. What do you mean by set? like pairs? If so, I think you're mixing things up. Everytime you get the first strange rock of any skill, the chance to get the second rock of that skill will be reduced by half, each type of rock got its own chance depending on what you do. If it was stackable between skills that would mean chances could reach ridiculously low percentages, which is not the case. I've done the hard ones last and I haven't notice any change on spawn rate compared to when I did them first. Yeah a jmod explained it once upon a time. Within each rock pair getting the first rock reduces odds of the 2nd rock by 50% However getting a rock in any other skill resets the odds on the first skill. And Getting the 2nd rock also resets that skill for the next week. Eg Lets say hunt, fish and herb are 1/100 odds. You get a hunter rock for the week at 1/100, the odds for hunter rocks is now 1/200 You go fish and get that rock at 1/100 odds, the odds for fish rock is now 1/200; but hunter is set back to 1/100 You go for second hunter rock at 1/100 chance, fish is reset to 1/100; you go get that You are doing herb, you find first rock at 1/100 chance; odds are now 1/200 You keep doing herby and get second rock at 1/200 chance; odds are reset to 1/100 for next week. Oh ya, I actually did that for hunt rock a couple of times, I would get first hunt rock, then go get first rc rock and then get 2nd hunt rock pretty fast, but now I need the xp so I just don't mind.

I got hunt rocks for the first 20 weeks doing charm sprites since they have the highest chance per single catch, but now I'm doing herblore habitat for them as I need the hunt xp, currently working on 25th week. I'm pretty sure falconry got the 2nd highest chance per single catch, only after charm sprites so you could try that too.

Oh and let's not forget LoL got merely close to 2 years out, compared to more than 10 years runescape has. So you could say that, in a funny way, LoL wasn't even out when RS won that award 2 years ago.

*Note to spread to all representantive jobs*: "You are all clearly getting paid for nothing as you still need to bring whatever amount of people you represent to valid a point". Thanks, I'll have that in mind, brb, let me gather all the people I've met in 10 years of gaming experience  On a more serious subject, I never claimed I couldn't provide proof, how else do you think I would be going around saying I can speak for many. It's just a way to redirect and summarize a point based on several claims and facts. Either way, my point is not really mine when it takes just a couple of google searches to find more people making it valid, if you know where to look at and actually experienced other gaming communities before, which I know/have. Do you? How many mmo's have you actually played or do you even play any other game outside of runescape? Let's compare "popularity" shall we? :3 I'll choose league of legends vs runescape for this. Since playerbase ammounts are rarely ever released, change constantly and are nothing but rough estimates, we can't really base it on that, ironic eh? So let's based it on what it is said about both games where support CAN be proved. Not only that, this also works to prove the game's actual popularity outside of it's own community. On facebook: LoL: 1.7m likes RS: 585k likes On twitter: LoL: 73k followers (I don't think LoL got an actual official twitter, but this guy is the closest to one) RS: 23k followers On youtube: LoL: 912k subscribers RS: 96k subscribers If you really wanted "proof", should have just asked ^^, altho not completely accurate, the huge difference speaks for itself when it comes to how "popular" runescape is compared to other games outside of its own community, I think the fact that some rs users have more subscribers than the runescape channel itself says a lot already lol... Alright, is this more suiting? Please pick a proper one to express the dismay, thank you c: Now if you are done with that... circus, allow me to get back on topic, unless you wanna argue about that too in which case I advice you to get some help. Anyways, am I the only one who thinks it would be absolutely hilarious if the winner turns out to be something else, as the award is being announced during runefest? Or is it just me? lol. If anyone here is going, please, for the love of God, record that moment and upload it on youtube.

So someone talking on behalf on others experience suddenly becomes only one person experience? If it takes several people to reflect the popularity of a game would you rather hear it from a single person who knows about it or do you want me to bring here every single person who talked about other games between communities? Brb, gimme a couple of years.
-
Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out
Actually, what I meant wasn't just my experience, it's what I've noticed from the mouth of others when it comes to popularity. Someone who is limited exclusively to playing rs will never know about its actual popularity. Other gaming communites are way bigger than runescape one, and to never hear about runescape over completely different scenarios, but yet hear about other games clearly says a lot about its "popularity". Put it this way, if all the games started advertising the award as much as runescape does, runescape wouldn't have been even remotely close to win it. In few words, runescape wins that award becuase jagex begs for votes, others don't as they either don't really care or don't consider it something to relly on to get customers (the fact they are often mentioned between more popular games is enough); and even so, the only feedback jagex gets from winning that award, outside of runescape community, is negative and/or indiferent one. I'm not anti-jagex, I actually love runescape, it's just very clear for me that runescape is very far from deserving that award if equal circumstances were put into place.

He's talking about using ranged without safe spotting. I know, it just reminded me of someone who did the very same thing and it's a good friend of mine; figured I would post those stats if they were of any help.

There must be a reason for a game to be popular, if the game is not fitting of that reason, why is it popular to start with then? RuneScape is not popular compared to other online games, again, basing that on how often people hear/read about runescape inside the gaming community compared to games like LoL. Cool, that's your case tho, but then again, how many mmos have you played or how much are you into the gaming community outside of runescape? In my case, as I said before, I never heard of it outside of runescape community. It sure is popular within its own fanbase, but that fanbase is nothing compared to games being mentioned on several other gaming communities, including runescape one. And that's why LoL got my vote.

Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out
The award is for the best f2p game, sure it's not against the rules, but it's rather not very well seen. Just because they made their players vote for them by begging, doesn't mean the game reflects the award they just won, that's what I mean with being legit, be my guest to use any method you want, that award will not be legit if it doesn't reflect what you just won. As much as you can be allowed to gather votes however you want, if it doesn't reflects something you are supposed to represent ("best" f2p game), that will only lead to negative criticism against that company, which is exactly why so many people that doesn't play runescape dislike jagex. That only works to prove they simply want the award, regardless if it actually means something for their own image as a company. Actually, what I meant was runescape being mentioned on other mmo communities. I've been playing mmos for at least a good 10 years, and I don't remember a single time f2p runescape was ever brought to discussion. I've seen people talking about silkroad (which made me play it until it was infested by bots and the cap was increased pass 80), requiem (good until the company became money hungry and only idiots were left in the community), league of legends (which I actually liked, just don't have enough time to play it), and I can go on with many more examples, all f2p, but never f2p runescape. Oh my god, someone is criticising them, god forbid him for doing so! how shocking! Seriously...

Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out
Gotta love how they put a reminder on the homepage. How ironic would that look if someone not being able to do anything at f2p because of bots saw that at the same time he/she was playing... They are delusional if they think they will win this year (or even thinking that they won legitimately last 2 years), the only reason they won last 2 years it's because they literally begged for votes several times while other games simply announced they were nomitated. When was the last time you heard someone talking about how good f2p runescape is OUTSIDE of runescape communites/the game itself? Dunno about you but thinking outside that box I've heard MUCH MORE about league of legends compared to runescape (nothing), so league of legends got my vote. This is the criteria they should talk about when telling people to vote, not just beg for votes like if they automatically deserve it from anyone who plays their game thinking they only play runescape exclusively, that's egocentric and even insultive at some degree.

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Gotta love all the people blaming it on a ddos attack. Do they realize how retarded they sound saying it like if it was something as easy to do as eating a rocktail? Do they even know what a ddos attack is? lmao... Doesn't really bother me but everyone seems to be calling ddos attacks for anything bad that happens to them/someone else and I garantee you most of them don't even know what it is, it's just like saying "hax" over getting killed.
