Am I the only one who think that girl (Moia) might be Lucien's daughter? Other than one female mahjarrat we already know (that clearly, isn't the one in the picture), I can't think of any other female related to him. Wonder if they intended this when Lucien said that phrase, or they just decided to add her later because of people's speculation. I remember someone posting something with a rather nice theory, about how Lucien's daugther wasn't a complete mahjarrat, instead had a human mother, and that's why she's not included in the mahjarrat's list.

Fork Handle
What a waste of 67760 pixels. Oh, in that case, allow me to be more literal. I never really liked these references that are supposed to make us laugh. That gif is my reaction to most of them. I mean, sure easter eggs are fun to find, but it's the way they pull out the "joke" that I don't like. If you relly on someone's else "humor" to try and be funny, you're trying too hard; basically, it's the fact that you actually have to explain the joke that kills the humor in the way. Not much different from telling a joke without the charisma to do so, and having to explain it later... Just my opinion though, I don't like having jokes explained at me, let alone have them "hidden".

Live Concerts
Been to many concerts, but my favorites are definitely Tiesto ones, because of the lights and overall the whole show <3 Last concert I went to was Armin van Buuren's; ofc also love his more club-oriented shows. Tiesto in Panama 2009 This vid is not completely mine, but a couple of its clips are, same event. Tiesto in Panama 2011 Armin in Panama 2012 This vid is mine Also been to a bunch of other djs events such as Lange, Ferry Corsten, Claudia Cazacu, Markus Schulz, Aly & Fila, etc... Bunch of festivals, etc... Ya... I'm obsessed with live performances ·_·... lol.

Noobs say the funniest things!
Yay! I always wanted to post in here, but I tend to forget to take screenshots lol. Anyways, bit of explaining. I was doing a shooting star at Uzer, for those who play with fog on, you'll notice the color of the fog itself changes exactly in the spot where the star lands, from clear desert-ish to green swamp-ish. I said a comment about how nice it was that you could just step on one side of the star and watch it change, and vice-versa. As soon as I said that, this person basically interrupts me to complain about how fog makes him/her "lag". I told him/her that what he/she meant was more of a performance thing, not really related to slow response/connection, so shouldn't worry that was helping cause it, least that was my idea, until he/she interrupts me yet again, and then this conv happens: (the lems is meant to be "some problems" and sorry for that misspell, was kind of hard typing with how hard I was laughing). Anyways, after that, he/she basically didn't wanna talk to me (or anyone in the star actually, as some were actually laughing as much as I was) and left first as soon as tubby was popped out lol... Oh, don't you love when people come with made up degrees to sound smart <3

Arizona Looks to Outlaw Internet Trolling
Here's a funny thought: wouldn't this bill be, in a way, a form of trolling? You can easily claim to be offended by the sheer stupidity of it, at least well enough to start wondering: not sure if trolling, or just extremely stupid (by our standards of course). Funny thing, they'll prob be forced to choose and realize the extremely stupid option.

Latop for RS
What's your budget? I got my fiancee an Asus X53SC, and actually tested runescape on max details (AA 4x + bloom on OpenGL) on it, and it ran at decent fps. Most places should stay over 35 fps on fixed and over 25 fps on full screen, and that's with entertaiment mode, it's better on high performance mode but I can't recall the exact numbers right now, but they were decent (anything over 24 fps you can't notice the difference). It never went under 15 fps, even on worst case scenario places (such as w2 ge, w117 dh, etc...). It costed around 800 dollars, the one I got her came with an i5 (more than ram, you actually need a decent processor for rs), 4gb ram (up to 8 upgradable), 750 GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce GT 520MX (dedicated 1gb), etc... I can tell you from self xp that Asus makes great laptops, even though they are a relatively new brand. Here's a link with the basics for that design: http://in.asus.com/Notebooks/Versatile_Performance/X53SC/#overview Edit: with new fps fix, it rarely ever gets under 40 fps, unless you're on a crowed place. It seems like the worst case scenario fps now is 25, which still goes unnoticeable. That's all on max settings + AA 4x + Bloom on OpenGL and on fullscreen, on fixed it basically stays 50 fps.

GIve us Elysian back?
They should at least give back items to people who got proof that they got drop off boss. They can work on a way to do this, but they don't bother. This. They are more than able to find out when an item is lost, how it was lost, who lost it, etc... Pretty much all mmos do this, and it is part of their player support work: you lose an item accidentally (sold to an npc by mistake), because of a bug or just for a bs reason that was out of your control, and you usually get it back in 24 hours. Ofc, you gotta give exact details: server/world, time, etc... to make it easier for them to corroborate. Jagex doesn't give items back simply because they don't want to, as it means actually more work for them.

Trailers and Trolls - New RuneScape Trailer
[spoiler=Possible Player-Mercenary update?] Picture of a dude saving the player in the trailer's ass. Look at the next pic.. Same guy on the left-hand side, in-game graphics. Picture of the Mercenary leader (That would be you if this update existed), and his 3 mercenaries. If you watch the video, he also has a mage help him out, not sure if I saw a ranger. So that's 2/3 of these guys. Is this part of the "combat revamp" Jagex has mentioned? I am intrigued. EDIT: Re-watched the video and saw that there was this guy, and a meleer + a mager. Could still possibly have 2 of one type, or he's from a quest (which would explain the demon picture), so there.. Still very interesting to see what's possible to come to rs :). Ermm the guys in the trailer are just the signature heroes. The "dude" saving the first one is The Raptor. The main one is Ozan, the guy using a 2h sword is Sir Owen and the mage is Ariane. As for The Raptor, he's seen randomly around most of those places in game, well they all do, but The Raptor is seen at more "dangerous" places.

Squeal of Fortune + Buyable Spins
Microtransaction isn't really new to jagex. Their new game, war of legends, you need to pay £69 for 1000 jagex credits, and with these credit you can upgrade armour, buy chest and buy rare item that needs hundreds of hours of work to get without any jagex credits. Initally there werent much people buying jagex credits because frankly they were damn expensive. soon enough jagex started offering double top up weekend, triple top up day, and some amazing offers. This is where the game start to collapse. A small amount of people started buying mass amount jagex credits and their army grew and grew, while the rest of players gets conquered and quit the game. Now, two years since the release of war of legends, each server have about 30 active players out of 20k slot. I really hope this isnt where runescape is gonna end up. Thanks for the info, and yet another example of this mmo-killer pattern. This is exactly what I'm worried about, I'm yet to see a single exception where this idea doesn't becomes the reason a mmo dies or goes to zombie state.

Squeal of Fortune + Buyable Spins
I'm curious, people actually believe players are not willing to pay thousands for making a game easier? Let me bring up an example of another mmo: Requiem Memento Mori. Like many f2p with cash shop mmos, requiem got a plus system for items, the max you can plus an item is +30 and you can enchant it up to 8 out of 8 slots per item. Of course, chances drop DRASTICALLY for every plus, and there's also the risk of downgrading the item and even break it and lose it. And here's where cash shop comes to the rescue! You can buy items to enhance, protect and avoid downgrade, all of them are one time use only, and you can only use up to 3 every try, but ofc, a single character got: 6 armor slots, 1 ornament slot, 8 jewerly slots, 1 weapon slot and 1 shield slot (altho this one depends on class). It doesn't end there, you also need A LOT of this item called "xeon", which rarest and most useful variaton is extremely hard to get unless, you guessed right, cash shop. Many of these items come through "lucky bags" that don't give you the item directly, rather you get them by chance (these are also dropped but the chances are MUCH LESS). So that's 16/17 items you have to "max", and guess how much it costs to "max" an item? If you're lucky, it can go "cheap" and you only end up paying 500 bucks per item, but it can cost anything up to 3k if you have terrible luck, make your calcs... Considering this is a combat only game, there's not much to compare with runescape, but the idea of the lucky bags, does it sound familiar? For now, runescape has not reached the point where it becomes a must to remain competitive, but then again, so it wasn't with requiem, until people started buying out lucky bags and basically reached godlike level in game, so much, that everyone but the cash shop users, left the game and is now a ghost town with only, AT MOST, 300 "regular players" (ofc, making new content for them to spend thousands every couple of months, it's a nice business). My point is, wether this becomes crucial for getting to enjoy the game or not, it will depend on how players react to this, if it becomes normal to see people literally buying out levels, then you can expect this game to become a ghost town (or zombie state mmo as we call it) with only players abusing of the cash shop left. In my own experience, it took requiem 2 years to reach this point, how long will it take with runescape? Let's just wait and see...

Squeal of Fortune + Buyable Spins
If they do work like gravity's lucky bags (specially requiem ones), you do. Except they are far more shameless about it (they even show the increase in %), which Jagex will prob try to avoid showing. This is basically a rip off of lucky bags, and I can GARANTEE YOU, as a former requiem player, people WILL overuse this for the sake of getting in-game content without actually working for it. I just hope it doesn't get to the sickening point that requiem reached (or at least not as bad), where the only people left playing are those who payed thousands to get their equipment, cash, etc... in game, so the game is pretty much a ghost town. It's almost certain the tickets you can buy have better chance of good rewards, so except people buying out these for easy levels, items AND cash. I never thought I would say this, but runescape has indeed reached its point of no return, I actually feel sad about this, seen so many good mmorps destroyed by this very same idea... Oh well, guess I was meant to quit eventually...

Squeal of Fortune + Buyable Spins
Are you KIDDING ME?!!!!! This is the exact same thing as those "lucky bags" you can buy on gravity games (and at a lesser extent, get them from drops, just like this update). People literally spent THOUSANDS on them, just for the chance to get in game cash and better items, what the hell made them think runescape players wouldn't do the same? And how are most gravity games now? a [bleep]ing ghost town because everyone left thanks to the idiots overusing this crap to get "better" in the game by just paying, and now there are the same 5 idiots on denial still playing their games (can't blame them, after spending thousands on it). So technically, now runescape sells cash... I seriously hope the whole paying for more spins thing is a joke...

Creepy Thread
Oh crap, so sorry, that was meant to be a tale I've heard around here (I just translated it from the blog of the guy who related it first), not something that happened to me, let me put it on a quote. As for the marks, people will always come up with some explanation to them; most said the marks on the guy who told the story were self-inflicted, so there's no much point on having/showing them, since either way, they don't really prove anything. They sorta look hand-ish, if you know what I mean. Sorry, I'm just picturing that guy in the video coming out and walking towards you. Lol, not the best example I know, but that's the closest I can give, can't really explain exactly what was that... thing. Imagine that thing "walking" right next to you, when you can barely see anything.

27-Mar-2012 - Morytania Tasks
I think the temple trekking/burgh de rott ramble tasks are related to how much progress you've made in the minigame. For intance, I only need to max both of the hard ones (currently both at 66), but I got all the tasks related to it on a single trip with an easy character. Altho, I did one of each route with him (one easy, one hard, one medium), dunno if that's related. Anyways, only missing the summon ghast task, might be done tonight if I barrage the whole minigame lol... Something I always wanted to know, does it really makes a difference on leveling speed (other than time invested) if I choose hard/med routes?

Creepy Thread
Well the rest are more of a folk thing. Any hispanic/latin country got A LOT of creepy stories, and mine is not an exception. You'll prob notice most of the urban legends you hear in the states, have centuries being told over here, but with much more scary details. Sadly, most of these stories are almost never translated and to know them, you gotta be related to certain families or at least know the language, been on x place, etc... Basically the type of stories that rarely cross frontiers. Maybe you can get your hands on a few translated ones that made it outside, like La Tulivieja (or la llorona). I can tell a few if you guys want, in fact, I'll tell you my favorite now:

Creepy Thread
Got quite a lot of my own. I'm from Panama, and, as it should be expected, most of us at least show some respect for the unknown, mostly because quite a lot of "creepy" stuff happens over here. Personally, I think most of these stories should have an explanation, but some others simply don't, and that's what makes them so scary. I think the most shocking ones were two I'm about to tell. I've had lots of experiences with stuff like this, like any other latin person would, nevertheless, nothing compares to these when it comes to lack of explanation to what the hell happened. First one happened when I was about 15-16, on a red cross volunteers camp. We did these camps 4 times a year, from friday to sunday. There's this place called Cocoli over here, which basically used to be a huge house clomplex for U.S. soldiers in Panama and is now pretty much abandoned (will be flooded with Canal expansion), there's also an infamous tale over here, about a marine who resided in Cocoli and killed his wife in his own house and then commited suicide (at this point the story was pretty laughable to all of us); the story also included details like, the wife always wearing a white dress, the house had an x number we found out later, etc... you know, the typical. And of course, saturday night, bunch of bored teens, it was a matter of time before someone pulled out this story. Thing is, since we were in the same complex where the house of the murder was supposed to be, we decided to look around. We found this house that was in far worse shape compared to the rest, so we decided to give it a go, the house was number 106 (the 6 missing but we figured out by the numbers of the ones next to it). The house was full of dead bats, bunch of used candles, turtle heats, etc... lot of weird crap. When we made it to the last floor, one of us looked outside the window and there was this weird lady looking at us from the front yard, dressed in white. At first, we all thought it was a joke, but then we realized we were all on that floor, the entrance to the complex was restricted and it didn't look like any of our supervisors, at this point it was still a possiblity that someone went too far with a joke and brought someone we've never seen before, until... Our reaction was to go down to the front yard as fast as possible to confront the joker, thing is, the house got 2 entrances only, and both were blocked by us as we were going out, and by the time we were there, she was gone. We looked around the house for a while, keeping entrances under watch and such, then this girl of the group started screaming loud as hell, she was standing in the front yard looking at the window of the last floor, just like the lady in white, we all ran to her and look up, the very same lady from before was looking at us from the window of the last floor... We all ran away from there screaming and cursing, it was really creepy. Couple of hours later, we were talking about this to the keeper of the complex and his wife, he told us "you kids didn't visit house 106 right? that's where you know what murder happened...". Never did another camp there ever again. As for the lady, she didn't look scary, transparent or any crap like that, however, she did look VERY out of place. Like, her hair and her clothes were just weird, it was like looking at someone from the 60s or something. It was a creepy night and we rarely talk about that anymore. The other one happened when I was 18 and was far more disturbing. As you've probably guessed by now, I love camping, and this time I was camping with 4 friends for a little escape. We decided to visit this monastery that was close to our camping location, that's very famous for its meals (they give free food to campers, but you gotta help with the dishes). The parking lot is next to a little cliff, so the top of the trees are at the same height as the parking lot. As we were leaving, there was a shutdown and the place turned REALLY dark, we could barely see our own hands. I used my car lights to illuminate the place, and as soon as I did that, we heard something moving on the trees next to the parking lot, the lights weren't pointing directly to the trees, so we couldn't see very well. Then this... thing, came out of nowhere moving at the tops of the trees, like, if floating. I really don't know how to explain it, but the closest I can give is that it was like watching a person walking backwards while rotating his/her arms, but in a very jerky/shaky manner (sorta like ), it was REALLY disturbing to watch. We packed up and left the place as soon as possible. Edit: about the 2nd story, here's a picture of the place, it's not exactly the parking lot, but this is what I mean when I say the monastery is over a little cliff, most of the trees around it are like these: I got quite a few others, but these 2 are the ones I've found the hardest to explain.

16 - Mar - 2012 - Bonus XP Weekend
Of course, it couldn't go without a problem. Now some players are unable to do herblore habitat at all since jadinkos stopped spawning... I was just starting, doing fine for a few seconds and then boom, they don't spawn anymore (checked plants, pots, etc...), they simply stopped spawning. Way to make people lose potential....

Are Auras...worth it?
This Appart from that, couple of tier 1 ones are quite "useful", reverence for example. You can always try getting the most expensive ones, but honestly, since they have limited use, you can live just fine without them, at this point they are nowhere near mandatory for any activity.

How do you deal with randoms asking to be your friend?
Well, I just say that I can't add them because I don't add random people BUT I also say that I'm usually with chat on (gotta be, clan's rank requires me to have chat on all the time to add people) so if they want to ask something/need help with something, they can just pm me. My list is nowhere near full most of the time since I "clean" it every 3 months or so, so I can always reply back. Kind of funny, I met a good bunch of my best rs friends doing this, some people randomly pm'd me, one thing brought another, and they became friends.

One hour of combat. You can attack something, but it doesn't degrade out of combat. So if you just want it for the look, you can always use it just for that. That's the non-corrupt version tho.

Lol just checked the url, and searched for the photobucket user's album. It looks like it's the same guy who got that pic of Bilrach that nobody knows where it came from. Actually that's my photobucket account, puts the images in my control in case the original person decides to delete them or anything. Oh snap, in that case, where did you find that Bilrach image? lol
