Tip.It Times - 19th May 2013
I also think that, as far as I'm concerned, EoC is still in beta. And the people who dislike it would be those who would rather not bother beta-testing and/or playing it until it was 100% ready, while the people who don't mind it/like it would be those who don't mind beta-testing the EoC while it's still not finalized. I know that I would definitely had been playing on the official EoC beta if it was logged into the official worlds and if the stuff I did remained once the beta was over; this basically is the same thing rigth now. Or, at least, I hope we can all agree that if the EoC was truly a finished product, it wouldn't be seeing changes to its core every few months.

The degradation of Old School RS
"But it certainly doesn't hurt to try and improve it." "Unless you fail to do so, in which case it hurts a lot." I wasn't speaking specifically of RuneScape. Besides, it doesn't matter if you fail and get hurt, since that does not prevent you from getting back up. Yes there is no harm in trying, it's when you fail to see, or refuse to acknowledge, that all the hard work you put into the change is actually harmful. Something Jagex are prone to do. (Remember the climbing boots fiasco?) To be honest I like the current system of having RS3 for those that want it, but retaining RS2 for those that prefer that. As long as both survive I'm happy. Just your phrase was so... Complete garbage. Like I said, I wasn't referring specifically to RuneScape. Hedgehog's post summed up my thoughts quite nicely.

200M in all Skills
If they promise that it won't have Micro-transactions, they get to keep the players that hate micro-transactions longer. And besides, what would you have done in their place? Say "we won't promise you guys that we won't introduce a feature that you dislike"? As for F2P... would you have wanted a highscores that was filled with a majority of bots? And hey, the game does have a spot for free players, its just that said spot has grown smaller.

HTML5 beta discussion
Eh, can't hurt to have you added to the list of people who can log onto the beta, even though you wouldn't be logging into it.

I don't think 1-click dropping made the skill any easier. More convenient, yes, but not easier.

Well duh, wouldn't have had the funds to afford starting a big project like this otherwise.

EoC Discussion
My only real issue with EoC at the moment is stuff that hasn't even been properly balanced for EoC, and as a result, ended up being way too easy. I mean, taking out Nomad in less than one minute, eating only 4 Monkfish?

I'm more confused by how you managed 2b exp without being 2496 total.

Barrows loot log
Jagex don't appear to be the kind of company that is willing to give away the specifics regarding their game mechanics, which is a shame really. Would make everybody's lives easier.

Barrows loot log
If I understand your post right, you're saying that killing Ahrim would give an increased chance of obtaining Guthan's armour? If that is the case, I don't think that's how it works. Each barrows brother's items have their own slot (possibly more than one) in the chest's drop table. Killing that brother allows the chest to pick from that brother's equipment when you loot it. Killing all six brothers increase your overall chances of getting a Barrows equipment piece because there is more equipment drop slots available. But you would have pretty much the same odds of getting, say, Dharok's helm (specifically) if you were to kill only Dharok than if you were killing all six brothers. Now, it's true that killing all six brothers would increase the profits obtained from the chest, since it is better to obtain, in this case, an Ahrim's item over receiving nothing. But the question is, does the increased profit from getting Ahrim's equipment make up for the extra time spent killing Ahrim? tl;dr killing a barrows brother lets you obtain his equipment from the chest, and killing all six brothers gives a better chance of obtaining any barrows item since there is more to choose from. Chances for a specific item does not change.

EoC Discussion
I wish I chould just stick to one combat style and be able to use that everywhere. IMO, the combat triangle should only apply to PVP. NPCs should all have three different weaknesses, one for each combat style. I wonder if Jagex is ever going to realize that a lot of people keep repeating that suggestion, then going "hey, that's actually a good idea!"

The degradation of Old School RS
But, on the other hand, just because a certain group of people like the EoC does not mean the rest of them should be dragged there too. There are plenty of valid reasons for disliking the EoC. From what I understood from his post, he didn't want OSRS to become the "main" RuneScape in the place of EoC, just that it would become more than just a rarely updated side-game. Basically running both servers side-by-side, each of them receiving updates just as the current main game does. Although it is true that making updates to OSRS just like they are making updates to EoC RS would make many people mad, we have to keep in mind that a good part (don't know exactly how many, but they exist, and I think it is reasonable to assume they aren't a tiny minority) of the OSRS players didn't actually want an August 2007 server, all they wanted was a RuneScape where there was no EoC. In a perfect world, a player would be able to be given the choice between playing a RS with no EoC and playing one with the EoC. (I feel like I probably didn't word this properly, so don't be afraid to ask for clarification.)

The degradation of Old School RS
Keep RSC as "RuneScape", Old School as "RuneScape 2" and EoC-and-soon-to-be-RS3 as "RuneScape 3" Besides, all of them say "RuneScape" on the title screen. I'm thinking that when RS3 is released it will actually have the 3 on its title screen (otherwise they probably wouldn't have included it in the logo), so they could slightly edit the title of OSRS to include a 2 somewhere (hopefully as another "stone" thing, that would look nice.) That way, they would be officially known by their actual names: RuneScape, RuneScape 2 and RuneScape 3.

I don't agree with renaming the current Runescape "Evolution of Combat" "Hey dude, let's go play Evolution of Combat!" just sounds weird.
