Third run at Barrows today:

While it is true that Nex boots and such are vastly superior in term if raw stats, I believe using Melee boots would lower your armour vs. Magic, no? (And similar for using Ranged or Magic boots) While these Dragon rider boots give you an important armour bonus against all three styles, including the one you are weak to. And the difference in armour and life points bonus is so minimal that it may as well not exist. Oh, and I forgot to mention it in the post, but I bought these boots for ~5.8m yesterday.

Best class-less boots anyone?

I do it the cheap way and plant willows, pineapples and watermelons everywhere I can (White lilies protecting the watermelons, which I can use to pay the gardeners for my pineapple trees.) You don't need to pay the gardeners to protect your patches, but since it's so cheap for these trees, no reason not to. You'll want to farm the best herbs you can if you need exp.

It is said keepsake box doesn't allow you to wear Quest points cape/Max cape/etc. once you lose the reqs. Alternatively, he/she could just have equipped/unequipped it to show it was not keepsaked.
