  1. I bought an Arcane just for that (expecting that they'd buff shields in the near future.) :) Although tbh I would expect them to either nerf Spirit shields' passive (if not remove completely) or give loldg shields and Barrows shields a better damage reduction passive. IMO, one thing they could do is make off-hands and 2h weapons give 25% more damage instead of 50%. Because right now, let's say you hit 2000 with a one-handed weapon + shield. Using Dual-Wield or 2h weapons would (approx.) push that to a hit of 3000. By using a shield, you lost 1000 damage for very little advantage (as shields aren't that useful) However, if it only did 25%, then a hit of 2000 would have been 2500 with a 2h and dual-wield weapons. DW and 2h would still be preferable for dealing the most DPS, but since you wouldn't be losing nearly as much DPS, shields would seem much more attractive, especially with the addition of more shield abilities that can deal damage.
  2. The glitch is that Jagex [bleep]ed up something so the RSU Client doesn't work right anymore. Something about using uninitialized render surfaces or something like that, or so I've read.
  3. I just finished completing all 8 cosmetic overrides about 15 minutes ago. I think I grossly underestimated convoys, as I was able to get ~500 frags done per ~40-50 minutes. Glad I'm done with those, though, since it would have greatly annoyed me to have had obtained the overrides from both sides in BoL, but not in this one.
  4. Why does this guy have a fancy mouseover? --------------
  5. It's now 5 frags each time instead of 4.
  6. Got that from killing Saradomin wizard during clue lel.
  7. I would actually place Armadyl crossbow slightly higher than pistol crossbows, since you can use it with off-hand Blisterwood stakes, in which case it would have the same stats as Karil's pistols, but with a Prayer bonus. The downside is that this would require partial completion of Branches of Darkmeyer, therefore higher reqs than simply using dual karil's, all that for a mere +1 Prayer. However, if you can't afford or can't use anything better, it's a nice choice. I'd definitely recommend at least doing the dwarf quests up to Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf in order to use the Hand cannon, though. That and getting 75 Ranged for it if you haven't already.
  8. Yeah I just went and unlocked Aviansie wand, and I'm definitely unlocking Aviansie shield in the near future. Kinda annoys me that I probably won't be able to unlock Orkish wand and shield, since I would have liked to keep things consistent between this World Event and the previous one (unlocked every override from both factions in BoL), but at the same time I don't really fancy them. And then, if I hadn't went and unlocked Saradomin's side of the rewards in BoL, I would have been content with just unlocking one side of the rewards this time around as well.
  9. Do they still plan on releasing an Elf Lands task set along with MEP3, by the way? ...You're criticizing the update because the interface is too well-designed? Maybe you should focus on reading the other person's post instead of dismissing their argument based on half of their post. "no focus at all on making an informed choice"
  10. I have both claws and both throwing weapons unlocked, with about 1200 fragments currently stocked up. With getting about 200 frags daily just from capping at a building site, I'll be able to go and unlock both shields by the end of the event. I don't think I'll go and unlock the wands unless they put an infinite sacred metal node, though; grinding caravans is far too inconvenient. Although... The Bandos shield doesn't really interest me, so I think I'll probably unlock Aviansie wand and shield instead. Don't really like the Orkish wand and the Aviansie wand is alright.
  11. Aura hadn't finished recharging at start of farm run for some reason. :(
  12. Been there, done that, got this In all honesty, I found this to be one of the most enjoyable parts of the game.
  13. All my reasons have already been said in the current articles, really. RuneScape is the only MMO that has actual *quests* that aren't just "Go there, fetch 5 of X, kill 10 of Y, come back for GP." Many of the quests have really enjoyables storylines that only leave you wanting more once you finish the last quest in a series and realize that the storyline is over. Also, I really like how every piece of equipment changes the way your character looks. In some other games, equipment barely changes the look of your character, while in others you just have tons of equipment that re-use the same models but with slight modifications. In RuneScape, very few pieces of equipment re-use the same models, so everything you wear or wield makes your character look way different. Having access to all the skills and classes instead of being limited to just one class and just one profession, etc. etc. The music is pretty darn epic as well, and the afk-bility of most skills means you don't have to sacrifice your time to level up, since you can let your character level up by him/herself while you do something else on the side, like studying, doing homework, playing another game, reading, etc.
  14. Putting the fate of the game on potentially 51% of the community (and even less when there are more than three poll options) is very dumb.
