"God hates fags"
Yeah I know, I was just referring more to the fact that there's lots of worse stuff in the Bible than just condemning magic and witchcraft. But meh...

age limit to love?
Yeah I agree, but that doesn't change how I felt about her.

"God hates fags"
Taking a small group of people and applying them to an entire religion doesn't prove a point. If you would actually READ the Bible yourself, you would know that this stuff isn't in the Bible, or is just being twisted and warped out of proportion. You know, posts like that is why religious debates get locked. Know what you're talking about before you go making these wild assumptions. Have you read the Bible?

Girl loses her legs after riding Superman ride in Six Flags
As awful as it is (and it really is), i'm quite sickened by the amount of jokes I can think of to relate to this, gallows humour... :(

age limit to love?
Striker, you're being idiotically closeminded here. I can safely say that i've been in love, and i'm only 16. And before you say it was only my sex drive, ponder on the fact that I never went out with that person, my love for that person was so strong that I let her go out with another guy because I knew she would be happier with him. Imagine how heart wrenching that was, and since it lasted well over a year (my love) despite the fact that I never even got to call her my girlfriend or even consider the possibility of sex (which was never a factor anyway), I know it was love. So yeah, you can talk all you want about how there's a cut off point at 18, but the fact is you know nothing, absolutely nothing about love if you think you have to be 18 to experience it and before that it's just a sex drive.

age limit to love?
What I mean is that love has an explanation rooted in the brain, and a teenager's brain is more active and emotionally charged than any, so it's ability to 'fall in love' is probably heightened. I'm not saying all teenage love's last, they don't but that's not really because it's not proper love, but more based on other hormonal urges, pressures from society and constraints at the time to maintain a proper relationship. Basically, you seem to me to be saying that teenager's are too irrational and emotionally charged to fall in love proper, but isn't that what love is? Or, who can really define love?

Capital Punishment
You're assuming that the criminal's act was a rational, deliberated choice, when in fact it so rarely is. Dispassionate premeditated murder is rare, many murder's are spontaneous and/or committed under the influence of drugs or emotional surges.
-
age limit to love?
Why? Well I don't really "laugh", I just don't believe you can be in love when you're still growing and your hormones are stirring, too much going on. Fundamentally, what is love but a hormonal/emotional bond? Since teenagers have stronger hormonal urges than anyone, or emotional highs and lows, aren't they in a better position than anyone to experience love?

Capital Punishment
What if the majority of the society still believe it should be kept lawful which is the case where I live? Then it should be kept lawful, democracy should prevail. But that shouldn't be the end of it, and the voices of the minority who are against capital punishment should be given equal weighting and opportunity to present their views in the democratic process. If both sides are given equal attention and unbiased review the decision is still in favour of the death penalty then that's democracy, and that should not be challenged on principle because that would be hypocritical. But that doesn't mean we should silence the minority or accept the majority, it should still be reviewed now and again, just as it should be reviewed if people voted against the death penalty.

Goodbye Blair, a great leader or disappointment .
Actually thinking about it, I don't think Gordon Brown will be too bad at all. I hope he's strong enough, he should be.

The perfect job?
Find you something you love to do, get people to pay you to do it.

Capital Punishment
An execution is not murder. 1. It is lawful. 2. It is not done out of malice. People basically live under a contract that says behave by the law. When you break that law you forfeit rights you had and must face predetermined penalties for your actions. That is something everyone knows and understands. When a person murders another person they know they have voluntarily placed themselves in a position where if caught they will face the penalties to the law. It is the murderer that is responsible for his/her own death by execution because they made that choice when they chose to violate the contract we all live under called the law. Execution is only lawful because some people in society made it so many years ago. Laws should be reviewed.

age limit to love?
Oh I don't know, I think you cannot get some pre-pubescent kids who have a really strong bond/attraction to each other. It probably doesn't develop sexually until a bit later, but maybe it is love. Who knows? Let's face it, it's impossible to say who is and who is not in love. It's not like there's a checklist. Just because the vast majority of 10 year olds probably aren't in love it doesn't mean it's impossible.

Spice girls back together
I know it barely classifies as music, but moved it to M&M. (Oooo) Oh, and keep the replies vaguely related.

For the British: Is this the worst summer ever so far?
Tell me about it I live in Yorkshire, and I'm working for the next couple of weeks in an office by the river/canal. So when the river/canal burst it's banks on Monday and we had to leave an hour early due to flood risk I thought, "hell yeah! here we go!" Then I get home and the power's off at home, and was for 24 hours. So no hot water, heating or electricity for 24 hours, and sod's law, I get the morning of work the next day! Typical! Still, gave me a good excuse to get some proper reading done. Anyway, enough of my rant, I understand some people had it properly bad (especially in Sheffield) so I suppose I got off lucky really.

Vegetarianism? O_O
Merc's spot on, what you need is quality local organic produce from a butcher, make sure it's been hung long enough for it to go tender. I said earlier I can't eat meat as guilt free, that's pretty much because I know that growth hormones that they inject into most meat now make your chances of getting prostate cancer shoot up, as well as eating too much red meat in general.

Glastonbury 2007
Heh, I wondered if you were going again this year. Looked awesome, watched as much coverage on the beeb and online as I could. Who were the best? Or is it too hard to say? Definitely going to try and go next year.

Goodbye Blair, a great leader or disappointment .
I like Blair as much as it's possible to like a politician.

"God hates fags"
Never. Constant re-evaluation of ourselves, our thoughts, ideas, opinions and beliefs is the only thing that allows us to grow as persons. Anything less is stagnation. And willingly halting your own development because you prefer the blissful ignorance is nothing short of squandering free will. That's summed up my response far better than I could have. :P Yeah, you should question every aspect of your life, no matter how hard.

Capital Punishment
So you're just going to make laws without any ethical basis just for the sake of it? Ethical laws shouldn't just 'exist', they need a reason.

Against his rights? You decide.
The point is whether or not it's against his rights to be told he can't dress as a woman at a school, I don't think so. Maybe the principle was being a little stern and a bit of a killjoy, but is this really a violation of human rights worth worrying about (if the right to dress is even a human right?)? I don't think so.
