  1. To be blunt, I find most of the hardcore i've heard seems to be kids trying to make their music sound harder than it actually is. The older stuff is better, Sick Of It All for example :) Oh and, on the subject of happy hardcore - first of all, sorry to be harsh but please p*ss off posting dj cammy, he does not represent happy hardcore and he never has. Real happy hardcore came about in the early 90s; take this classic for example. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=L60WtKz9Mgk The new "happy hardcore" is just absolute commercial dribble and doesn't even deserve the name. It's mostly listened to by people who have no idea who N-Trance, Vinylgroover, Slipmatt etc even are "but dat don mata cuz dis tunez phat!!" etc. Oh and gabber's ace. Ophidian's "Betrayed By Daylight" album is one of the best CDs i've ever heard. 8-)
  2. "you're only kids, you're not allowed to deal with conflict, we have to pretend it will never exist" ?

Me, Matt, Rick, Bubsa, Daan. 1 bedroom each, a large living room and kitchen, several toilets, a huge variety of unhealthy meals and snacks, huge dvd/cd collection and all the alcohol we could possibly drink. Party house!
  4. Ah, but this is my point mate. Cos of email/IM/forums etc, it seems impossible to get a "real" penpal cos we can all just chat online... And I for one want to revive the art!
  5. He cant expect you to just say yes to those things mate, frankly id tell him where to go. You aint the bad friend, he is.
  6. Does anyone remember being young and having a penpal? My girlfriend recently mentioned to me that she wants a penpal, so i'm joining her on it - a real penpal, the kind where you send each other letters and drawings - where you meet someone interesting from a country you've probably never heard of and laugh out loud at their strange and weird cultures. Does anyone know where you can get a penpal these days? Seems like a fun thing to do (:
  7. That's Alek SzÃÆÃâÃâáhala, and the man is a sodding prodigy in Finnish hard dance 8-)
  8. Aah me too! We stayed a few miles down the road at Bedd Gelert, it's absolutely beautiful around there (:
  9. Is there anywhere in the world you want to visit? The two places i've wanted to go for a long time are llangollen in wales (again - its a beautiful place) and niagra falls in canada. Is there anywhere in the world you want to go?
  10. Errrm, if you're looking for popular but good stuff here's some albums you might like... Pendulum/Aphrodite/Concord Dawn/Prodigy all have albums for Drum N Bass type stuff. That'll tear your speakers to shreds. Aphex Twin and Hybrid sound phat through huge systems. Try stuff like Squarepusher, Ceephax if you want some random choppy IDM 8-) Of course, the best bet for you would be a few compilation albums, see what you like kinda thing. That'll broaden your mind a bit and you'll start finding artists you like in the genre.
  11. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's everyone else and they're just not admitting it. The fact is, I can't seem to get into modern music at all anymore. I used to be a fan of hard dance and happy hardcore. They're fast and hard styles of dance music, the music just used to completely captivate me - it seemed like the kind of music to push you to the tip of your emotions, the DJs and Producers were always doing something new and stupid aswell as sticking to the tried and tested format of ripping off some crap 80s cheese into 175bpm crap. Then one day, someone invented the Virus C synthesizer and someone decided to put a cap on the bpm - the music ended up sounding exactely the same over and over, parts of it got into the charts, the artists sold the genre out and to me, it died. So I started getting into music like punk and hardcore metal. I'm pretty broad with it, everything from ska punk to death metal. Around this time, there were bands touring all over the UK worth going to see. All the ska punk bands I listen to seem to be dead, most of the metal coming out these days seems to be screamy lets-be-as-hard-as-we-possibly-can crap where the bands seem to forget the musical content altogether, and when a band get big, you feel like a [bleep] for liking them because everyone else bangs on about them and walks around in a skinny fit tshirt with their name on. I used to like older indie stuff, oasis/blur/ocean colour scene etc, but now, once again, I find all the bands are spawning out the same generic crap, and i'm finding it impossible to see how anyone can like it. The only band that have stood out to me in years in the indie scene is The Twang. Is music turning to crap or am I turning into an old git?
  12. Fatty food. I went camping last night and i'm mad hungover. :/
  13. Spending time with family, as I don't often do it for reasons I won't go into. Always feel better after i've seen family :)
  14. ^^ That's OK GO - Here It Goes Again, awesome vid, i think they did a few more which were just as good too :) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5zWaTEVkI Mine would probably be Alkaline Trio - Mercy Me, apparently they got Tim Burton to work on it but researching I don't know how true that is, either way it's an awesome video :) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM0rkQ3tKdg
  15. the best thing to do is get some protective serum to put in your hair before you straighten it, then just go from the roots to the tips all over. you're probably not going to be perfectly happy with your hair, noone ever really is.
  16. I basically just need this drawn over well so it's nice and smooth, and just in black and white rather than loads of grey stuff everywhere. Try and keep it looking as good as possible - i'm having it tattoo'd on me. If anyone could help out that'd be great :)
  17. Too bad Youtube doesn't offer a download link directly. Anyway, to the OP, have you tried downloading the youtube video from another download site and have them work after 5? Too bad youtube didn't reakon with the awesome power of Replay Media Catcher; http://applian.com/replay-media-catcher/index.php
  18. Attempting to reply to this topic has made me realise that I dont actually know much about anyone on this forum at all. :x We really need that social banter forum.
  19. Some of my mates did weed this friday. It turned them into dribbling gorms, they kept buggering off to once place or another for most of the night, and they seemed to stop caring if they were being [bleep] or not. 2 of them ended up lieing around on the floor most of the night and one threw up. I think with the right people it can be fine, but from my experiences both this week and in the past, it tends to turn people into complete and utter cretins. Yup, this is a small group of people who arn't used to it, but if it's like that for all the people who start smoking it, i'd rather not be around them all night, hah.
  20. If you're looking at the technical side of everything perhaps. But we all know that isn't how the world works. An LP has a much warmer sound and feels much more like something that 'lives'. They don't nessecarily have a "better" sound, in fact, the sound quality is actually a lot lower than mp3. What happens is when music is pressed to vinyl and then played, it's physically there in the grooves of the record, unlike mp3's which are a tonne of code. When you run a needle over one, you get the music, aswell as all of the dirt, dust and crap that's there on the record. There's also usually a low level noise called dithering across the whole thing. It actually sounds worse technically, but some people prefer the sound of vinyl because it's a bit more dirty/grungy and rough around the edges.
  21. Get off the internet, chase your dreams and live in them. Nothing worth living for was ever achieved without fighting for it.
  22. It's really not that painful, depending. My other half decided to have one on the top of her foot and she was clenching in pain throughout. Needless to say its one of the most painful places, apparently the worst is the bottom of your foot. I only quickly pulled a face at one of mine when she jabbed the needle in too far by accident and pierced the skin. oh well :D
  23. Yeah platoon is where it really got famous. Not to mention that crap Tiesto remix, egh. And re: kevin and perry, pretty sure it was in there briefly yeah. (Looking it up, it was Skip Raiders feat. Jada - Another Day which rips the chord sequence. quite like this version actually!) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=eXwypP8_qxs
