My friends, some advice for the future
I like to think i'm rather level headed, but tonight I learned a valuable lesson. Never trust one of your drunk friends to tell you how drunk they are. Now this may seem obvious but I tend not to realise it at the time. Myself, my girlfriend, her best friend and another friend went out for a meal, as we often do on a friday. Seeing as the weather is great, we decided to get a cab back to mine and start drinking in the garden. One turned into two, two turned into an empty 1L bottle of vodka. Now, when someone says they're not drunk and precedes to laugh, chances are, they are, and that's when you take the booze away - especially at 2am, when they're stopping at your house. We all chill out in my bedroom for an hour, and 5 minutes after we hit the lights, we hear a cry of terror from the floor. It was my girlfriend's best mate, who narrowly missed being covered in puke. We've spent a few hours cleaning the spare mattress, carpet and looking after my friend who seems to be having a constant out of body experience. It's now 6:20am and I'm not allowed to sleep until around 10 when I can get the bus to a friends house to make sure my mate gets home okay. Today has officially been the first sunrise i've seen this summer and i'm, to be blunt, nackered. Moral of the story, when it's obvious someone's plastered, don't let them carry on drinking.

Anyone quit smoking?
Bah, it's that time again, i'm quitting smoking, hopefully for good this time. Anyone had any success with quitting before? The main reason is I recently got pneumonia, i'm basically over it now but there was every thought in my head that it could be something worse because it's lung pain when you cough, so as soon as I got it I just quit because I knew i'd be making it worse. A week and a bit on, I havn't touched a cig at all. I'm having a bit of trouble though because my girlfriend smokes. We sit in the garden in the sun, or go out somewhere, she'll smoke, and i'll want some badly. Yesterday I nearly gave in, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips to combat this. cheers!

What a terrible week, I need advice
Sounds bad mate. Just remember, everyone suffers tragedy in life, and everyone can get through it. Deepest sympathies to you though, and if you can't make the funeral, make sure you visit his grave when you can. Don't feel bad, it's not like you don't care about your cousin, it's just not easy for you to make it. Small gestures are always the most powerful mate. Just let her know you care and do something to show her that.

Gordon Brown...
I've never been one for polotics, I actually laughed in my mums face when she told me to go and vote. For the British and those outside the UK alike; what do you think of Gordon Brown being the PM so far? My personal opinion is, I can see him being a strong leader. Let's face it, most of us thought he was a bit of a pillock when he was in Tony Blair's shadow - picking his nose in the house of commons, being a constant moody git, etc. But after a few weeks in power my opinion of him has risen sharply, and i'm starting to believe he's exactely what we need - a strong, no bullcrap PM who tackles issues head on - especially his views on immigration, as he's on about sending 4,000 immigrated convicts home. I'm not racist, and i've a bunch of ethnic mates, but it baffles me how 4,000 foreign convicts were allowed into the country in the first place. 4,000 skilled people with a clean criminal record after jobs I can understand, but not convicts. Now i'm not kicking up a row about this subject in particular, but it's just an example of how I believe he could set things right in this country a little. What are your views? :)

whats the UK like?
I sodding hate living in Birmingham. Aside from the music scene, it's depressing. We're the least courteous city, I live by the rover factory so there's pollution, and its full of bleeding chavs still. Wish I lived in Worcestershire, it's much nicer.

High School
sod off. You'll always make friends in school, and seeing as you have a no bullying policy, if anyone says or does anything, just tell someone!

The Simpsons Movie
Actually the series is in a tonne of different languages across the world, we just see the English version. Saw it the other day, I was very skeptical because the new writers er, suck, but most of the jokes were very typical and used simpsons jokes done over in different situations, so I was pleased, and managed to avoid a lot of clicḫ̩̉̉s...just about. Pleased in all, and thought I wasnt gonna be. So that's good :)

My mum is having a heart attack.
someone I know seems to think they've had a heart attack at 18. which is a sodding lie, because he was let out of hospital after 2 hours.

Really Heavy Metal.
try these: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... id=6484459 found out about them a while ago. heavy as hell but without the "trying to be as heavy and filthy as possible" sound that's about atm. aside from that, Dillinger Escape Plan? 8-) I dunno, I find slower stuff a lot harder than the pure filth.

define "hardcore" (open discussion on a misused term)
Daan's from Holland, and over there there's only one type of hardcore, which is the gabba/hardstyle/speedcore type stuff. Hardcore's actually a prefix if anything. Hardcore punk, hardcore dance, and more recently for me, hardcore breaks. It's always an offshoot of another genre because its always intended to be a harder version of the genre it's offshooting. When a scene gets big enough, it adopts the name hardcore. Hardcore, to me, was what I called Happy Hardcore back from about 2000 onwards, because thats what I listened to. Now i'm open minded enough not to call anything just "hardcore." Sadly most of the scenesters here use the hardcore punk offshoot, bleh...

I've got a bad chest.
Dont smoke anymore, drink a fair bit but never over the top, quite underweight, exercise a lot because of my job, eat quite well but indulge a lot too ;) Think it's pneumonia, looks the most likely option.

I've got a bad chest.
wouldnt usually post about this sort of thing but the docs isnt open til monday and that's a bit too long so until then im putting up with it. Basically whenever i cough, my right lung hurts like hell, but its fine when I don't cough. I'm a bit phlegmy and also feel drowsy/have a temperature, so I don't reakon it's anything other than some sort of infection. It's not a cold because well, it's not a cold, my nose isnt running. bascially im asking has anyone else had anything similar and know any decent way to treat it, or anyone have any idea what it could be? cheers.

Making your own alcohol?
hahah, I doubt that, it's the alcohol that gives you a hangover and if there was such a thing it'd be popular as hell ;) but yeah you can drink ethanol, they do it in south america because they use ethanol to power their vehicles over there, drink it by the capful ;) anyway, i've looked into it and you can actually make it from supermarket apple juice so i'll be doing that! after the intial fermentation you can transfer it to a second container and add flavourings (fruit purees and the suchlike) to secondary ferment, then after a few weeks it's ready to drink! i'm getting started this weekend and when it's done we're all going out on the lash with it. i'll even be bottling it up and i've even made labels for the bottles! :D

Making your own alcohol?
I'm not sure if this will be locked or not cause it might give the younger users some ideas! lol. Has anyone made their own alcohol before? I'm thinking of making a batch of cider, possibly pear cider, mostly for a laugh 8-) My dad's still got his old fermentation tank things so i'm set for that. Does anyone have any tips, stories etc? :)

Big Brother 07
Always hated it, always will. Not so much for the program, but the obscene amount of hype around it up to the point where my mates won't come out some nights because they want to watch big brother. Does my head in how these "celebrities" are created by it and have actually done nothing to deserve fame.

Is this possible ( music ) - read
Actually there is, in some cases. It's called Phase Reversal (or often reffered to as "stereo difference" but that's slang.) This works because very often, vocals in a track are panned slightly off center to allow for instruments like the kick drum and bassline (bassy instruments) to take the very center of the mix because bass, essentially, needs to be perfectly even to have the maximum effect. You can get a "vocal remover" plugin for most programs like Winamp and Windows Media Player which will automatically create the phase reversal effect for you. However, if it doesn't work on that particular track, it won't work at all. Google it!

Wish Me Luck! *gulp*
Get a schedule and stick to it mate. If you cut 500 calories out of your diet every day and exercise when you can, you'll be losing weight like noones business.

Medication
Nothin, never had the need to, just tend to deal with headaches and stuff by ignoring them. Toast and a nice big drink beats any medication for me so far!

whats the UK like?
If you're living in a nice part of London, not too bad. There's lots of transport to and from the city so you wont be stuck for things to do, just watch out for groups of kids who look like they're up to no good and avoid top decks of buses.
