  1. The reason i'm starting this thread is because when I was first getting into weight training I was doing EVERYTHING wrong and getting nowhere. A lot of the TIF members are in the stage (early-mid teens) where they start caring about their image, so here are ways to get yourself fitter and tougher. Muscle Building - Diet Contrary to popular belief, fatty foods are not good for building muscle. Tucking into a McDonalds once a week won't do you much harm, so don't starve yourself of anything you love, but eat in moderation. Eat a minimum of 1g of protein per lb of body weight for building muscle. If you weight 150lbs, eat at least 150g of protein. Meat is the best source of protein, eat LOTS of it. Starchy foods are good for muscle gain, as to gain muscle, you have to gain weight. Bread, Potato, Paste, and Noodles are great. Eat lots of dairy products too. Beans are also good - any kind. Eat little but eat often. You're better to eat 5 or 6 meals during the day instead of 3 massive ones. Be sure to consume more callories than you burn during the day. Your body is going to need the excess while you sleep, so don't go overkill otherwise you'll be gaining fat and muscle. http://www.strengthcats.com/kilopoundconverter.htm <- Pound to Kilo Converter, By Request. Types of Muscle Building Strength Training - Strength training is no doubt what most of the tif members will want to do as it gets you strong. For strength training you should generally lift as heavy as you can, but lift small amounts too to tone your muscles. Stamina Training - This is what most athletes do, and is based around keeping your current figure but building muscle around what you have. You should lift small amounts but lots of reps for this. Muscle Building - Exercises Barbell Barbells are generally used for few repetitions. You should have enough weight on your barbell so you can lift in no more than about 10 times before your arms collapse under you. Barbell - Curls Muscles Built : Triceps Start with the barbell near your pelvis. Lift the barbell to your chin with little or no upper arm movement. Repeat reps till you're tired. Barbell - Benchpress Muscles Built : Pectorals, Biceps & Triceps Lie on a bench/table/the floor/your bed. start as the guy does on the left and lift the barbell straight up. Hold for a few seconds and bring the barbell back down to your chest. This is a popular exercise because of the large amount of muscles it builds and probably the fact that you lie down when you do it 8) **WARNING : I RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS EXERCISE UNDER SUPERVISION OF ANOTHER PERSON, IT CAN AND MAY GO WRONG! Barbell - Military Press Muscles Built : Triceps Start as the guy does on the right, barbell at collarbone height, sitting comfortably but firmly. Lift barbell as high as you can and hold for a few seconds. Return to start position. Barbell - Shoulder Shrugs Muscles Built : Traps (shoulders) Start as above, barbell at pelvis height. Keep your arms as still as possible, and bring your shoulders upwards towards your chin. Hold for a few seconds and release. This exercise isn't really nessacery to a good body, as it only builds the shoulder muscles, but if you are going all out on weight training then by all means do this. Dumbells Dumbells are used generally for more repitions with lower weight. You should have enough weight on there so you can do anywhere between 30 & 100 reps. Dumbells - Curls Muslces Built : Triceps & Biceps Start as above. Bring one or both arms to collarbone height moving your upper arm as little as possible. Return to start position and repeat. Dumbells - Side Raises Muscles Built : Biceps & Triceps Start standing, hands by your hips. Slowly bring the weights up to the above position and hold, then release. Repeat as nessacery. Sit Ups Muscles Built : Abs Find somewhere to support your feet so they don't move easily. The gap under a door or your bed should suffice. Start lieing down and bring your upper body to position B without moving your feet or body. Many people use their hands in a cradle to bring their head up. This does NOT help you build abs. Instead, point 1/2 fingers at your temple, use your fingertips to touch your ears with palms on your cheeks or don't use anything hand wise at all. Another person to hold your feet is very useful. Push Ups Muscles Built : Pectorals & Triceps Start as above, fully stretched with your hands at chest/collarbone height. Lower yourself so your head almost touches the floor and then raise back up. You should feel the strain pretty much straight away, so if you can't, you're doing it wrong. Keeping Morale / Tips for Successful Exercising Don't let exercising bore you. Play music whilst you're doing it, or watch tv. Part of being healthy is feeling good! Eat smart, but eat with yourself in mind. An extra burger every week isnt going to kill you, if anything it'll do you good, but eat out of a set diet in moderation. Don't exercise too much in one go. I worked out once for 2 hours straight and had to take a day off school because I literally couldn't walk. It does you no good. Remember to breathe often when you're exercising. Taking a 3 second break beats passing out. Change your exercises from time to time (for example every 3 months) so that the muscles don't get too used to the excersises. Always stretch before you work out, otherwise you won't last long and it'll hurt. I'll post some stretches later on. And last of all, enjoy it! Exercising makes you feel good, so it shouldn't be a chore. I'll add more to this guide later, but seeing as its 2:30am, i've had enough for tonight  Feel free to correct me on any mistakes. This is just off the top of my head, so a lot is probably wrong, and im getting tired tonight.

Yeah, it was fun in there till someone poured beer in it. Didn't wanna stick around for that so we all jumped in the pool :D
  3. on which you think is the best? :P
  4. MG Rover, one of the world's biggest car manufacturers, is in crisis. 60,000 jobs might be going... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4422705.stm Just wondering about people's views on weather the government should fork out. Rover's been around for over 100 years and is a major part in both the economy around england and the british people's heritage. This affects basically everyone who lives within miles of it, especially me since my dad works there...
  5. Most favourite ever was and will always be ToeJam and Earl for the Mega Drive, me and a friend used to play that game every day.
  6. Currently i'd probably say the PC, mostly because of the massive range of games and what else you can do on it (internet, photoshop...) However, SNES and Mega Drive were my favourites back in the day...soo many memories attatched to those consoles :)
  7. as daft as it sounds, paint could do the job. Just select one area to cut out, use the "Cut" option and then paste into a new file, then drag the box so it matches the exact size and save somewhere. It'd be a little harder than imageready but it'd still work.

Even considering Mercifull's points, i'm still gonna vote yes. We English should have some pride, even if this is the best we've got.
  9. I'm really not fond on this, mostly because the mountains have absolutely no texture or lighting whatsoever. It's bland, boring, and the animation isn't great either. Sorry for such negative comments, but thats my views...
  10. Now now, let's not turn this into a Mac vs Windows vs Linux vs Everything argument
  11. Wrote this about a week back, just to test my english skills. Might contain a bit of swearing, i'm pretty sure i got it all out but i'm sure the filter will find what I didn't, if it doesn't i apologise :) Read on at your own risk... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Constantine - It could have been good Article by : Strife Dated : 26/03/05 As time goes by it's becoming more and more apparent that movie writers are running out of ideas - and here, we have a prime example. Just when people thought the whole novelty was over, a new DC comic book hero hits the big screen. Hell wants him. Heaven won't have him. Earth needs him. And nobody cares. The story follows paranormal investigator John Constantine and his attempts to enter the promised land that is heaven. Sporting a hideous chesty cough due to his life-long smoking habit and a bling bling chicken wing gold shotgun, Keanu Reeves always seems to be in the right place at the right time as far as paranormal activity goes. The movie begins with a typical Mexican [cabbage]-picker rooting around in the dirt with his comprend̮̩̉̉, obviously looking for the so-called "Spear of Destiny" that "Jesus was killed with by a solider." Funny that he manages to put his foot through a solid wood trapdoor and stumble across it, eh? Movies work in mysterious ways...When the spear is found, unnamed scavenger immediately seemingly gets his sorry [wagon] run down by a random truck (may i include that this is the only vehicle you see in this whole scene - good timing, eh?) and, with the "Power of the Spear of Destiny" gets up and walks away in perfect form, whilst the pickup sits totalled. It soon appears that this man is no longer human - a quick transformation to say the least. Throughout the duration of the movie, our taco-eating gringo's progress to wherever he may be going is followed at random points. It's in one of these scenes that he walks through a cattle field, each cow dropping dead as he approaches it. Although Constantine wasn't a particularly great movie, this is one of the most awesome scenes I have ever seen in a movie. To be fair it's a relatively simple idea, and yet it made for really good viewing. I'd probably watch it again, or download a dvd rip just to see this scene again. It really was mind-blowing. I think i've gave away enough of the story, so onto the [bleep]ing and moaning. Constantine had the potential to be a gripping movie, and I didn't think "how long is there left of this mind-numbing crap left?" once. The movie was hugely let down by a couple of small, yet irritating details - most notably, Constantine's hugely crappy fabricated accent. On a personal level, I think i could do a better typical American detective accent with my hind quarters and two plates of sprouts, because it really did wreck the movie. As if this wasn't enough to wreck what a mediocre movie Constantine was, the ironically nicknamed "BeeMan" death scene sucked major [wagon]. I've seen a man killed by bee's in movies a million times before, and more than once in "Killer Bees." The eggs/warts/boils or whatever they were appearing on his face and the fly coming from his eye was kind of cool, but the death scene could have been so much better. I mean, where's the face-eating? Where's the laying eggs in his brain? No. Warner Brothers decided against shock value, and instead, his eyes just bled and his head turned back. Nice one WB, way to wreck what could have been a disgustingly satisfying fatality. The final main mess up in this run of the mill piece of crap was the daemons from the hell scene. When i saw the first one, I thought it was pretty awesome because it looked as if the daemon had died on earth, gone to hell and stayed with the wounds he obtained in his mortal state. But no, for some reason, all of the pathetic little [cabbage]s were that way. It would have even passed if they were missing a limb or two each, but obviously corners had been cut and they just used the same computer render for each one - pretty bad by anyone's standards, needless to say. This aside, Constantine had a pretty decent storyline. Sadly the best scenes were at the start, so it all went downhill from there. The exorcism was really well made, and I love the way that Constantine kind of lost control over the possessed girl at one point. After the suicide scene which was pretty breathtaking, nothing else was really that great. The scene where Keanu drowns Angela Dodson (aka Rachel Weisz) so she can see what hell is like was pretty good, but not great. The dragons breath weapon was pretty good aswell, but i'm just displeased that it doesn't actually exist to my knowledge. Overall, Constantine isn't a bad movie. It's watchable, but not rewatchable (aside from the cattle killing scene, of course) and the storyline is pretty solid, but it was let down in places. I guess it's the same as all DC Comic remakes really, you kind of watch it and don't care much for it after. Unless you're a spirograph-obsessed geek who lives in a shreddies box factory. Rating : 3/5 Bath Drownings Extra Points of Interest : As we all know the comic was based upon a DC Comic book named "HellBlazer." It's interesting to note that John Constantine is from Liverpool (aka Scallyland) in the comic, whereas in the movie he originates from Los Angeles. Score one for the Brits, Hollywood! Deja v̮̼̉̉? The Spear of Destiny is the exact same one as used in Hellboy. The movie was based on the comic book "Hellblazer" but was quickly changed due to sounding too similar to "HellRaiser." The original comic was actually intended to be called Hellraiser, but Clive Barker beat them to it. Keanu Reeves bought the pimptastic holy shotgun and gave it to Francis Lawrence as a gift.
  12. Haha, that's awesome man. Well made, but personally i wouldn't use the "Krasch!!" spelling and just use "CRASH!" or a sound effect of some sort. I reakon you need to really highlight that too, like in the old style comic books. Click Here Kind of like the text at the top, as that way it makes the boom look like it sounds a lot louder. Other than that it's pretty perfect, i love the expression his face at the end too :) excellent job
  13. Well i got this idea off of shinraonline (but from the health section where you can keep a fitness log) With the increase in number of sketchers, mostly because of tttia , on this forum, I was thinking if it'd be a good idea to start a sub-forum for sketch logs, as in each user posts a topic and uses that topic to post a daily sketch or a WIP. It'd encourage people for sure, and daily sketches would be a lot easier to locate :P
  14. Will Smith is actually a good actor and isn't one of those "look at me bling i'm better than you" kind of rappers, he's one of the few that I respect for being in the acting scene. LL Cool J isn't bad either, but the likes of 50 cent moving into the acting scene makes me sick to my stomach :(
  15. It's 2am, im still not tired and I'm bored to hell. So here's the past 30 mins work. I'm not the greatest artist on the planet, i'm far from it...but art is something i love and do and thats all that matters to me! Rate it and slate it. CC encouraged

10 hours ago I woke up from having what was probably one of the most emotionally charged dreams of my life, i won't go into details but I woke up actually nearly crying and shivering after hearing the most amazing piece of music i've ever witnessed. This got me thinking again about Dream Theories, what dreams really mean and why you have them, and I came to this conclusion : Dreams are your bodies way of monitoring your physical state. A couple of weeks back my brother decided to smack me in the back whilst I slept (*ahem* prat) and I actually felt it and saw myself getting hit by a basketball in my dream. I didn't wake up but my brother told me about it later. So my general idea is that if you hear a sound loud enough, or are shook whilst you're dreaming, it'll be seen in your dream as something terrifying enough to wake you up. It's your bodys way of protecting you whilst you sleep. This would also explain why you dream about things that matter to you in the real world - a couple of weeks before I visited Marmaris in Turkey, an old woman who lives across the road from me died. One night in Turkey I dreamed that her zombie was chasing us over the fields. The dream got a little silly, and we started throwing cake at her - then she bit my right arm. I Immediately woke up to find a mosquito on my right arm...so it's my idea that my body felt the pain, created a reason for the pain being there, and awoke me. Just an idea, but i needed to get that down in writing.
  17. I agree with Diablo. Unimaginative, quickly made fake image. Do something worthwhile next time...
  18. Yeah, i know the one you mean. That seriously should have been in there, the bit where they have to jump over 2 matchboxes cracked me up
  19. The one with all of the posh people which is like a horse race?
  20. The top 50's on channel 4 are majorly boring. Aside from that, where the hell are only fools and horses and fawlty towers? Tommy cooper in the 40's? Billy Connely? Hmm... And i don't understand how they picked Good Aids/Bad Aids out of Brass Eye as being the best. Brass Eye's about the stupid short jokes, like the Myth Smashing and the Paedophile Crab. Good Aids/Bad Aids was pretty daring, but in no way was it the funniest thing from Brass Eye.

Basically, the story starts in the cafe. It goes from this point to about halfway in the movie where vincent is shot. Then it tells you what happened before they enter the cafe. The clothes are kind of a give away dont you think? Oh, and... "This is some good coffee!" "Look, I buy my coffee so i can taste it. I don't need you to tell me how good my f@ing coffee is." Had me in stitches :D
  22. I think GTA online has skinnable characters, so all he would need is a mario skin...the stunts are pretty insane though

Pulp Fiction's essentially a cult film, and you really have to be quite intelligent to get the full effect of the movie. I thought it was awesome myself, though the rape scene was a little too graphic. The samuri sword butchery was brilliant though, aswell as the scene where the girl OD's on cocaine. The whole "What, i've got to stab her 3 times?" thing had me in stitches :)
  24. Some people have a life outside of runescape. It's called real life as for the sig, 7/10
