  1. As a historical fact, Saddam Hussein gassed his people. If that's not enough to remove a dictator from power, I don't know what is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_Saddam_Hussein%27s_Iraq I'm not sure what you classify as a WMD, if you're only including nuclear bombs or what not... maybe you should touch up on that as well: A chemical, biological, or radioactive weapon capable of causing widespread death and destruction. Yes, I know WMD's aren't just nuclear weapons and that he used chemical weapons in 80's, and still had some in the 90's. But in my opinion, having or using WMD's still doesn't give other countries the right to declare war. The US used plenty of WMD's in the past as well, and they still have them. But nobody will declare war on them..
  2. Why? Because you can't just invade a country just because it might have WMD's. Declaring war is a crime in itself.
  3. The European model of slavery really didn't have much to do with Christianity. I know there were a lot of other factors involved, but religion was important too. They considered the native Americans and the Africans soulless, and therefore they had no feelings and were basically nothing more than animals. They were fair game for slavery, basically. Of course, it was also simply convenient to use slaves, and I'm not sure to what extent the Europeans actually believed this. :D You're probably more educated on this subject
  4. Abortion is morally wrong. This depends on the situation, but it usually isn't. It's not a decision that is taken lightly, and generally, it will only be done if it's in the benefit for the mother or the family in general. George Bush and Tony Blair ought to be trialled for war crimes. I agree. Meat eating ought to be banned. No. Meat is delicious. :) Anonymity on the internet should cease to exist. Disagree, people have the right to not be spied on unless they've committed a crime. Animal testing should be banned. I don't really care about this one. We kill animals for food, so testing things on them shouldn't be banned either. Not all people should have the same rights. No. Everyone is equal for the law, without exceptions. Killing in self defense is still manslaughter. It depends on the situation. The victim shouldn't be punished if he or she had no choice. Otherwise, it's manslaughter. Assisted suicide shouldn't be discouraged. People have the right to kill themselves. If they want to do that, so be it. Not saving someone's life should be a criminal offense. That depends on the situation. If you're capable of saving someone's life without endangering yourself or others, you should do so. But I'm not sure if it should be mandatory. Healthcare should be charged based on lifestyles I don't think people should be charged for healthcare to begin with. Everyone should have access to healthcare regardless of economic background, lifestyle, and so on. Instead, there should be additional taxes on things that damage your health, like smoking, fast food etc
  5. Enslaving fellow humans is wrong. 'Our' ancestors, the Europeans that is, didn't think any different. They simply considered everyone that wasn't a christian to be sub-human, and therefore it was okay to enslave them. Other Christians weren't enslaved. Our opinion on slavery hasn't changed, only our opinion on whom can be considered 'human'. For most of us, anyway..
  6. I should post in this thread before it's too late. I always thought that the world was supposed to end on December 21st, 2012. :( Apparently those nutcases were too optimistic. Oh well, see you all in hell! That's where all the cool kids go.
