I stumbled on this topic in a search and couldn't stop reading. I was upset that my char didn't make it on the list of 2000 people :( I remember joining members and the worlds were EMPTY as hell. I've been playing for a long time. But soon after members came out I was hacked and Jagex didn't care. I even wrote down his IP address and not even a reply. I kept my character alive and to this day still play on it. I've been trying to remember. What was the first skill someone got 99 in? Was it Magic, Woodcutting, or Smithing? I'm pretty sure it wasn't smithing though. New guys don't know how good they got it. I mean... we use to have to click the pick axe every time to hit the ore! But we didn't have to drop or bank to power mine :-P First celebrity? Bluerose13x I think too but I'm not sure. Who was the first player to max all combat skills? (strength, attack, defence, HP). Was it Zezima? I totally forget. But I do remember seeing him in the wilderness at Greater Demons and completely running away... then realizing he couldn't attack me cause his lvl was too high and having a big laugh then taking a screenie

lvl 60 with a fire cape? really? I thought this was hard for lvl 100+. I never even looked at attempting it though

you all don't think much... seriously. Ok, Economics 101. Supply And Demand. Higher Level requirement (in any way, whether combat/skill total/mining lvl) to mine pure essence = Less supply because less players can mine because all the lower levels can't mine it anymore = Prices go up Anything that slows down the mining time of ess (randoms/pin) = less supply because the time to get will decrease = prices go up. This one can easily be gotten around by macroers/autoers/bastards as well And last but not least... if Jagex figures a way to ban autoers without altering the game any way = Less Supply = Prices going up! So do you want prices of Rune Essence to go up? or Macroers to live on? Jagex didn't have an easy decision. And I swear, all I hear is people complaining about autoers all the time, and they do create problems (they created this problem) but to be honest... you are complaining about the benifits of autoers as well... almost... just almost. (Extra note after finishing writing: Maybe Jagex are really just genuises. They impliment a horrible idea that raises prices tremendously and when they implement a good one where prices are just a little bit higher, no one will complain.) Personally, the BEST ideas are combat totals at 500 (slows down macroers long enough for Jagex to catch them) OR exp+ in pure ess mining (make it actually worth while). Jagex is ALWAYS going to offend someone. (fatigue was worse. I didn't even play when that came out) Aqua Dragons<<< A player since there was only 3 worlds. (on and off) They didn't mean to start it like this, and they don't know what to do with it now. but... It's hard to play god...

This is definately to keep prices down. With a greater amount of people from Members and F2P that creates a greater demand, therefore price goes up by law of demand. Runescape had to study economics and be creative with the RS world to keep things fair. I think with gloves it will be like that too... on the first day there is a huge demand, so a huge price. But after the demand is filled... price equalizes and BAM everything is good.

you can't compare gloves and capes... Capes are weak, Gloves are not (in the runescape world) It only takes one quest to wear Rune Plate and thats way better then any of this. I agree that the quest should have been harder and the reward should have been greater though... but you are coming about this all wrong. Fire capes are still the best fire cape and now these gloves are the best gloves (correct me if I'm wrong). You can't put a second pair of gloves in the Cape spot...

ok, I made this its own thread because there are many topics about this and they are all spread out and I want this issue to be discussed on indiviually. If a mod disagrees, then go ahead and lock it. I put it in General P2P because the paying customers have more power, respectfully, with their words, thoughts, and actions. SO... I completely agree family's sharing routers and getting banned is a problem. They are meant to interact, that's what makes this game awesome. But how can you prove this? I have 3 computers in my room. I have 7 computers permanently set up in my household and even more being put on and taken off (my mother fixes computers for money on the side and for friends). I even have 2 routers in the house with different IP's, one wireless and one not. I could get away with it. But I think it would be cheating, and its hard to prove that you aren't... which is true. Right now I am fletching, on my laptop which is wireless and would could sit by side another computer and I could easily woodcut. but that would be cheating. What is Jagex suppose to do about this? Have some system where you apply for multiple users in one household? I don't have a solution... Neither does Jagex. Even if they detect that its on different computers, the person can still be considered for cheating according to the Rules. (I don't know if this is very coherant. I've had a long day and am very tired and I am so close to lvl 70 fletching that I don't want to stop)

That's what I did. I got a girlfriend, quit doing all the drugs and partying I use to do and got back into Runescape. I play runescape and waste more time on Runescape then I did on drugs. But its cheaper :) Maybe I spend more money on my girlfriend though... you win some you lose some.

I never knew there were cannons in RSC. I quit during RSC and came back just recently (in december 2005). And lol, you're right the logo is right at the top and I see it everyday and I didn't think twice about it :-P

I was thinking of posting some pictures. I have some funny fakes ones that are now real... so I guess this is a good opportunity to do so... These are both fakes. I had a picture of an adam pickaxe before they came out and were even asked for really... and pictures of rune armour before they came out (all fakes) and a picture of zonghui at greaters (use to be biggest thing to fight, and he was strongest. My how things have changed... Post some more!!! I think I'm gonna make a collection Do they even use this logo anymore?!?!?!? and How could you say RSC wasn't good?! without it, you wouldn't have RS2, and without the people who loves it you wouldn't have RS2. I liked rsc way mroe because it was unique and we were all proud that we didn't need fancy graphics to have fun. We liked the quality of the community and the effort put into it.

maybe in recent years, I wouuld understand, but this was not always the case as with Disc of Return... I hate the rares market though... it sickens me

Very reasonable words. All the exact thoughts I was thinking while I read every post, and yours was the last one summing up all my thoughts. How HORRIBLE! Almost brings a tear to my eye when you wrote that your daughter said "if I can't play, you can't play" omg... if a Jagex staff read this, and they had some sort of heart and not some dragon heart (rs alliteration) then they would repeal it all. I've been playing since the beggining and I got hacked, a few months after members came out, TWICE! the first time only a few things were taken because I believe I was trying to log in while they were on mine and just kept trying and trying and trying till it finnally got on. I forgot to get the IP address because I was so confused. The next time I got the IP address (In Sydney Australia, and I'm from Miami, Florida), and sent it to them, and they didn't do anything!!! So I didn't play until RS2 (a few years, kept my character alive though logging in every blue moon) and when they made the PIN for the bank, because I feel its a lot safer. But now my friends don't play anymore nor do anyone I knew in the game when I played. But I still enjoy it... Someone, not Droolman, start a petition! and whoever said this is a fake sob story, should shut up. Thats just kicking the man while he's down. Shame on you. Don't give up on your daughters account.

I actually have 2 computers right next to each other... ones a laptop and the other isn't. At first I just played card games like solitaire and stuff that isn't timed... but then I got more complex. I've been playing runescape for a long time on and off, since I was in 7th grade (and I'm a senior now 12th grade). I stick to games that I enjoy, so I've been playing the same games since... so I play Starcraft and Warcraft II (3 doesn't work on my other computer and rs lags on it). its tricky to not log out though. This is all while fishing or woodcutting. I still play card games while I runecraft.

I think its still pure luck... and nothing to do with you taking it off and on. I was in the abyss for like 2 hours and only got a small pouch. Did 2 more trips and got nothing. 3rd trip I got Medium, large, and extra large (w/e), almost one after the other and I was wearing my ring of wealth the whole time. I don't even have 50 Runecrafting (48 arg). Check out your melodys before you lay it down out of key.

I kind of enjoy the maze, its totally different... it does take long though, but that one doesn't bother me. I haven't gotten the candle guy, Oh am I looking forward to it (sarcasm) So many times have I been fishing, walked away for 5 seconds and came back in lumbridge with 3 sharks in my bank. Usually I'm running to take a leak or grab a bite to eat and I don't think it'll hurt... I let my little sister kill things for me cause she watches me play all the time and always ask to, so once I let her and I let her kill Pirates. I think, perfectly safe! they never do a single damage on me... WRONG! From her words "some black clear thing popped up and killed me! don't be mad!!!" argh... never let her play again, or I watch her play.

What do you think is the most annoying random event? I must say swarms are most annoying, but I don't get them as often as I do the Sandwiche Lady! God dam I don't want a snack lady! Oh and evil bob, with the balloons, I always get while I'm cooking with a full load and I have to drop 1. Not a big deal, but annoying none-the-less. (I searched and did not see any other topics about this. Correct me if I'm wrong)

You all are ridiculous! I mean it would be more interesting if in runescape the sun set in the west... and that captured my thoughts for a second... but then I thought about it It could be SETTING in the west :P :P :P it is a still picture! Why didn't any of you think of this?
