  1. Neat and tidy. But it needs something interesting to look at. what I see there is something that should be a background to something else. Unless you make it really detailed. then it could be used as a signature in itself. Auicroa's Pikachu-getting-slapped-up avatar's driving me mad.... spent 5 mins just watching it :?
  2. Want the kiwi one? I fiddled with it for the other whatsit and I don't need it.... (Imageshack converts it to .png :? ) http://img93.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img93&image=kiwi5ba.png And a rather messier one because its a jpg: 3 colours (2 shades of black/grey actually if you dont count the background), can be fiddled with a bit more.
  3. looks interestin.... What do you mean illegal polygons?
  4. Lose the glow 166bytes over  Add a creepy background?
  5. If you spent less time holding down shift and more time thinking you'd notice its not a Nazi symbol. The Nazi swastika is a flipped version of the ancient swastika symbol. http://www.eskimo.com/~bpentium/articles/swastika.html This is the Nazi swastika
  6. Added a nice little dagger which I created on graph paper several times before this version. Still not finished  Its inverted and shrunk by about 60%. Changed the arrow in the previous post to a higher resolution one (I found the high res scan option at last.....) Finishing pencil-shading the unfinished arrowhead and starting to go over with pen.... Everything up there is non-referenced apart from that globeish shaped thing which was a oil-lamp made of glass on my table..... ....wonder if memory counts as reference material? Wondering about changing thread name to "Dyro's blog + drawings" *edit: decided that dam arrow looks odd whichever way its pointing... the shading on the arrowhead blade is all wrong..... :?
  7. Yes it is You judge it on how well the artist has used the style they've chosen not a direct comparison.
  8. Cool as in....? Are we talking RS here as in warriors archers mages etc? Or generally cool?
  9. Added another arrow since weaponry seems to be the most interesting thing around here..... Drew it at a shallow perspective (attempted to), best seen non-thumbnailed..... Penciled the lines, penciled some shading, biro'ed the lines, biro'ed the shading, rubbed out the pencil..... The real picture looked a lot better.... the shine on biro ink made it look more interesting. Discovered a couple of things: -raised areas on metal shouldnt be shaded but left blank and the lowered areas should be shaded.... -shallow perspective is dam difficult to get looking realistic or even pointing in the right direction.... -pencil then pen then a rubber to remove pencil..... Also added a techy sketch of another arrow-to-be complete with construction lines so you can see how I get them like that..... Its going to be a sketch of an arrow appearing to fly over your head with the sky in the background..... :) *edit I think I'll rotate the finished arrow back to pointing right.... it looks a bit odd like that
  10. Um nope.... ....its not the picture format because I can see everyone elses.... :? Ah well, never mind
  11. :? Can everyone else see it? I've looked at this page several times now over a couple of days and I still see a red cross....
  12. [^Yup, over 2-3 days I think....] Incredible picture. Lighting and use of colours is amazing. Boots look fuzzy round the edges. ....waist down seems to have less detail than the face, upper body and arms.... Watercolour?
  13. Pen + pencil and no computer editing? The neatness of the lines on the armour is amazing.... Hardly a feathered edge in sight.... I demand to know how you've managed to pen in the curves so smoothly! Generalised things: Sketching background figures is ok but if you're not going to do them in detail make them less clear, have them covered with a haze or blur.... don't go for the very clear hexagon on a partial hexagon low detail style in the far right. You seem to have given up on the shadows, sketching in what looks like a floor-meets-wall shadow behind the armoured guys and the barbarians. Specific things: The figure under the central figures right foot seems to get a bit confused around his waist where it meets the standing figures cape as if its cut through him.... Middlemost barbarians left foot and shoulders - the shield covering his body and the strange angles the shoulders are presented at make him look very odd Seem to have lost the ruler when you were drawing the leftmost barbarians short sword/knife/dagger  The armoured fighters have flat feet with the toes ending very sharply. Practicalities  The lefthand guys are encased in very expensive looking metal armour but the middle one's holding a wooden shield.... and not in the same armour style as the rest. Capes don't happen in battle. Fighting men would avoid things that could get snagged or be used against them by the enemy. A cape could be dragged at to pull you off balance. The fang-like bottom of the helmets would seriously hinder a soldiers ability to turn his head round, they would get caught on the shoulders. Great work :)
  14. ..... :? If you want to be insulting don't bother posting. That ones free and not even finished....
  15. I love your incorrect grammar. myweapnsg00d am noob. I love it when people try to corrrect other people then make a mistake  You missed out an 'a'
  16. Hm... Hmmmm.... Archer standing on an overhanging grassy clifftop. Holding a bow in a relaxed position (hanging down with an arrow on the string). We're looking sideways at the cliff and can see part of a village underneath it, some houses are blacked and burnt. Rafters and suchlike poking out of tattered thatch. Its a 'long' view and rolling hills can be seen further back, covered with a patchwork of fields and woods, even further than that are a range of mountains probably with snow covered caps. Its sunset. The sun can be seen setting in the background. Silhouetted against the setting sun is a dragon flying towards the village (probably blocking out most of the sunset). Text... um.... "Not today you b******" would be nice but rather family unfriendly.... so maybe "For my family...." If you want something different then that would be ok, along the lines of defiant, terminal and stereotypical hero-talk  Details: Long shadows being cast by the houses to go with the sunset, make the archer slim, plainly dressed and generally looking like a young rural hero-type guy who's just had his family killed and wants revenge then he'll settle down to ploughing the land again  Sound good?
  17. No one is born with any skills worth mentioning.... Drawing well = (practice + copying other peoples styles) x lots In fact just copying what other people have done is a good way to improve on its own.... Give credit where due though
  18. Someone really ought to make a sticky about this.... theres a post like this every other day Maybe cut and paste tttias post
  19. Now looks likes its being framed against the sky :) I think it works well with the light/shadow areas on the flower
  20. ...someones managed to cross a vine with a tulip! I'm also having a nagging thought that there ought to be some leaves in sight or a shorter stem.... The flower itself looks very detailed, can even see the little wrinkles in the petals. Top centre petal appears to be too plain in comparison to the others and seems to stand out oddly against the background. Light/shadow work is great on the flower, I'm wondering about the stem again though.... Background could be more detailed, maybe some blue?
  21. Have to pay for that display box too
  22. Cute fluff balls are always nice to look at  Lovely drawing bunny
  23. Flowers sounds possible with a mouse and mspaint  I'll see what I can get in a few mins :)
  24. :( The thing is, to post any sketches a digital camera or scanner for preference is needed and not everyone has access to one. I've got to use a college one if I want to get anything posted.... Half term now so cant do anything for this week :?
