Upper torso armor done, that leaves me with weapon, arms and cape to finish this piece...

Been seeing some vectors around lately so thought I would have a go, this is of a picture of me and my dad when I was a kid. The picture is really grainy and small so it is very difficult to pick out details, well I'll show you. This is the actual picture I am working off of: And here is the vector, enlarged: I'm a vector noob so any pointers would be appreciated.

Fixed neck, added some plates to the chainmail, added some belts, smallish update I guess...

i agree, before it looked like he was ready for a fight with them all, now it looks like hes exhautsed, maybe have him raising the sword as though hes ready to attack at any moment I could be wrong but I think he wants him to look exhausted...

This is one I did for one of my characters in a MUD I used to play:

A lot of pixels on this forum I find pretty boring but I really like this one. It has a definite mood to it. I like how the bad guys surrounding him are kind of vague and hard to make out, makes them a bit more sinister I think. Good job so far, I look forward to seeing the finished product.

LOL how do you figure that? Maybe a bit too defined, but not an adams apple by any means... EDIT: But actually thanks for that comment, the neck had been bothering me and now I see why, now its fixed and will show on next update, thanks again. :)

Looks pretty good so far, anatomy looks pretty good and I like the pose. :D

So, basically what you're doing here is tracing a picture with the pen tool in Photoshop? That is what vectoring is? Please correct me if I'm wrong, kind of confused on this.

LOL. I didn't want to lose the curves so I went with impossibly skin tight chainmail, super uncomfortable I'm sure. The price you pay for beauty I guess :P No, I'm actually quite pleased with the way it came out, my best chainmail to date. She has a lazy eye... :cry:

Worked on the face shading some, finished her left leg and added some of the chainmail of the torso armour. Really kind of curious what you all think about the mail. Again, not finished but getting closer :P

LOL nice cartoon. Yea, I realize that there is a space; what I was going for in this piece is kind of an angle so you can't really see the space. Doesn't really matter though because it will be covered with armour and hopefully it will look right. Thanks for pointing it out though. :)

Looks like you are lumping muscle groups together. The arm muscles specifically needed more defining. I added a quick sketch on to your and Terleys drawings showing what I mean. I think this is happening in the legs aswell...

OK worked on the body shading some, gave her a little more deffinition, fixed some of the facial problems and changed her hair. I also shaded her bikini some too even though they will eventually be covered by armour anyways...

First off, thanks everybody for commenting on my work so far. And thank you Terley for the great C/C! That's awesome how you really take an interest and try to help. Something had been bothering me about the face and now I see it :D As far as the armour seeming like rub on tattoo's, all I can say is I'm not done with it yet, still needs shading and buckles to fasten it onto her. Hopefully the end product won't look like that. After surfing through some wicked art on DA yesterday I think I might attempt to better the body shading that I have. It's all just trial and error for me. This is the first piece that I have actually used the pen tool. Thanks again for the comments I'll try to get some significant work done before I post again. :) EDIT: Oh and that other piece I was working on I got bored of, and I lost all my files due to an OS fatal error, so lack of interest + no psd file = no workie :(

This is a new piece I'm working on. Kind of a first for me with this comic book style art. [hide=Fifth Draft][/hide] Haven't had a lot of time to work on this so I just have a smallish update, worked on the eyes some and have gone through several versions of a sword, am having a hard time shading it, but I'll get it figured out. All you people that say DT was easy or overrated, I wonder how many used a guide? Try doing a quest like dt without a guide then tell me how easy it is, if it was still easy, kudos to you. Guides take away any element of surprise a quest might contain therefor making the quest a lot easier. If you know what to bring to defeat a monster of course it will be easy, if you already know it's weaknesses... Anyways, I'm curious how many people did this without a guide and still thought it was an easy quest. I used a guide and still thought it was a difficult quest. Think i was high 70's low 80's though.

I hit a 38 on a kalphite soldier, no pots. Would of been higher I think except he ran out of hp :P I also seem to hit much better when not wearing a shield. The higher hp the creature has the more potential for damage there is so yes I would say you can hit harder on a higher lvl kalphite, curious to see the damage done to the queen. :P

Yea, not real sure what being gay has to do with anything... As far as the sig, I've never been a real render fan, tell me you drew the woman and I'd think it was great, but I'm guessing you didn't. Seems rather bland. Is she a playboy bunny or something is that why you put that symbol there?

I have a wacom graphire 4 x5 i think it is and it works just fine, can't really trace stuff, but I don't do that anyways, so works for me :P think it was like 70-80 dollars somewehre around there.
