another update, some highlight on the dragon and worked on the guy some :)

None taken, I appreciate your insight, I'm not done with the dragon though, i've already added some highlights, just haven't uploaded them yet. I'm still playing with pixel technique, right now i'm doing the black outline with heavy black shading and adding color from there. I'm just seeing what I can accomplish with minimal colors. I'll play with other techniques as I get better. The reason his neck seems so straight is because he is so large compared to the guy, you're only seeing a little bit of his neck. It is bending down from up high. Right now the style I'm using reminds me a lot of old NES games, which is ok, think I'm going to add a comical saying along with it so it will be fitting that it leans more towards cartoony than real. Honestly though, if I was going for realism I wouldn't use pixel to do it. I would use brushes. Some pixel art I've seen that does seem more real is way out of my league ATM... stepping stones... I do appreciate the helpful comments though. As far as the guy is concerned I haven't really done anything with him yet, he is just roughed in. He is next though :P

Oh, I see. I thought they were noob filters. Or they are and I am just thinking bakwards... :( Not unusual for me :P

looks good but your leetspeak options and the other one should be on shouldn't they?
  9. Yea there are a lot of stars and they all look uniform, they should be more random and different sizes. Tree looks kind of shiney and the ground is lacking for details but it looks pretty good. :)

    Another update :)

Thanks for the comments everyone, I'm not sure what inny outy means as far as the legs are concerned though. I repositioned the guys head and I played with the legs a bit but the outcome didn't look right to me so I left the legs as is for now. Added a little more detail to the dragon. Not sure I'm happy with the top "fins" on his head, might have to play with that a little more or I might just have to wait til I get to coloring it to get them the way I want.

TRying a bigger pixel this time, just got some basic stuff down, no colors or anything yet. :) 1.5. 2.6. 3. 4.
  13. Very nice stuff GS. I'm just waiting for your comic book release, you've definitely have the talent to create some awesome stuff. Bravo. :)
  14. why is everything remotely close to the style Godslayer uses immediately, a GS-esque image..? :? .. Seriously, this is like the 6th time I've heard this comment, it's just daysha-voo.. Godslayers great and all but.. There are millions of artists out there, is it a co-insidence that anything slightly abstract using limited colours fits in the catagory of the one artist? Search Frank Miller, Aperson. creator of Sin City, his work is on the lines of the style your trying to portray.. Sorry if ur offended GS mate, but im seriously thinking that in a few weeks we'll have 20+ GS's on our hands. You must agree there's much more to explore when it comes to art. ~Ter In all honesty, this is a total rip-off of GS's style, even if you can't call it his own style. His pixel work has been some of the only pixel work that has inspired me to even try it. I have been very amazed at what can be done with simple color manipulation. I don't know about anybody else but I learn new techniques by emulating others and then expanding from there. GS's work is simple and to the point, I figured what better way to start pixeling :P I have in no way taken from GS's work, just to point that out, but have used it as a guide. :) I'm sure as I progress in pixel art my horizons will expand :P I'm not real sure I completely understand your comment there though Terley, are you saying "why does everyone emulate GS's work?" or are you saying "why does everyone say that looks like GS's work?" Kind of confused on that point.
  15. Well, I had fun doing the last one so I did another, any c/c or comments appreciated :) <------

Well, pixels aren't really my thing, but I thought i'd give it a whirl anyways. I was inspired by Godslayers bloodveld avatar, very impressive stuff. So my avatar is my go at it. I cheated some on the BG I used a gradient overlay but the guy is straight pixel. :P
  18. You can't grab only 3 when they're in notes... :? There goes that idea :wall:
  19. Think I'd just turn on protect item and grab only 3 of the tops and just walk away :P
  20. months?? MONTHS??? Years more like my friend!!! YEARS!!! oh how much pain our chars must be going through  We get to lie down for a couple seconds when we die. :P
  21. Who's to say how people should live there lives. Every life is different and demands different circumstances. Sure there are such things as addiction but usually addiction leads to a life lesson of some sort, usually revolving around moderation or will power or maybe even learning to accept help from others; there are countless things to be learned from any life experience. Knowing this, you can't rule any one of them out or even really be able to call them bad. While something may seem bad or harmful at the moment, it is very likely that something will be learned from it. Learning is usually perceived as a good thing. As long as people keep in mind that there is a consenquence for every action or inaction and are doing what they are doing with that in mind, I say live the way you like. It sounds to me, like the author of this thread maybe learned a little something about themselves playing this game. ;)
  22. whips arent goin any lower, 90% of 85 slayers dont concider it profitable to go there as it is lol. i havnt killed an abyssal in over a year sounds like a nice idea, i wouldnt mind a little bit more choice when it comes to slayer, but it would defeat the purpose of what slayer really is Which is? I like the idea. I drool all over it.
  23. How do you figure there is any honour in PKing? You sneak up on people and attack them. Most of which don't even want to fight. I honestly don't expect anything more when I go in the wild, but don't try and act like there is honour in PKing. PKing is just a form of thievery unless it is a challenge between two consenting people which in that case may involve some honour. But that's it. Calling people that have no intentions of fighting and flee or protect themselves from you honourless, sounds to me like your sore they got away from you. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are talking about a consenting challenge. :)
  24. It is the white and black stroke around the "beans" that creates the optical illusion. :) Oh and here is a link to where I got the original pic, I didn't create the optical illusion myself, and I must say the effect is much better enlarged :P http://gprime.net/images/trippy/trippy.gif
