Alright guys, thanks a lot. I think I'm going to keep a hold of it for a few days then sell it with my junk, I'll need to hope to god I do play it right. I know it's a stab in the dark buy can anyone hazard a guess to what price it will reach?
-
I've never owned an item that is sought after by merchants so although I'm aware of junk trading and can give my advice to people on some things.. But I'm really clueless as to what I should actually do with it. I definately want to sell it, that's for sure. I just need to know how I should go about doing it. I don't have a great deal of junk in my bank (2m perhaps) so that's not really an option. Nor do I have the money to be buying into rares so that isn't really do able. It seems that the thing I should do is sell it at top in GE. So I've deduced that with the information that I have avaliable to me. But when do you guys think I should do it or is there something else I can do with it? Cheers Ed. (sorry for any typos, I'm using my phone)

>2000 total level, 96 prayer, 138 CB.
Socrates replied to Socrates's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Thank you. Goodluck with 2k total, i'll be looking for the thread. Thank you. And for prayer, FILMS! That's all that needs to be said really. Watch films at TV programmes whilst you're doing it and you're there. -
At 64 herblore myself, with the same goals in mind, I cannot offer you any wisdom in particular. However, greenman's ale and spicey stews will mean you can make your overloads earlier and hence wont quite need 96 herblore, you may wish to make note of this. Furthermore, I don't know if you're doing it already but herb runs are really useful. I tend not to notice seed costs dwindling my cash pile and I simply buy the seconds, mix the potion at put them back in the GE. It's not a lot but every little helps!

After achieving 99 slayer and summoning I decided it was time to train either Herblore or Prayer blowing the majority of my cash. I decided to go with prayer, which I do somewhat regret, but what's done is done. Note: I did not achieve 2034 total with 96 prayer, I have done some thieving and farming since and just copy and pasted my stats into the 96 picture. Formatted my hard drive around 94 prayer so I don't have the 2k total picture (well it's on my external hard drive). Cost me about 180m, my bank was about 40m shy of the money to be able to afford 99 so I got myself 96 and then left it there. Following about 10 quests (largely for Kudos - not as req's for The temple at Senttisten) I got this earlier on. Plans for the future? I think I will get all stats 70+ (Those with good memories will remember me saying this after my 99 slayer AND summoning Rate This! threads, but I really do wish to do it) and get that extra 40m to finish 99 prayer off. I've started to enjoy doing quests now i'm doing them without guides and taking time to read dialouges so I feel I may try to do While Guthix Sleeps at some point too. Perhpas quests to break up some of the more taxing skills to get to 70+.

This is what i'd do too. Although it's not particularly relevant I got 99 summoning from slayer alone (minus about 700k exp), if I restarted i'd definately do the same again! At a higher combat then non-slayer options will open up to you like fiends and lobsters (easily the two most popular) but for now slayer is your best bet and will give you a nice mix of charms and a wealth of money and experience to spend on gathering at a later date. Hope that helps, any more questions feel free to post again. There is an excellent guide in the Archive of Wisdom by Kent on summoning, refer to that. Noticing you're 1 defence, slayer might not be such a good option. If you just want lower levels then ranging fire giants would be a good option to begin with, or camping sketel wyverns at 73 slayer (although I appreciate it's a long way off) Will you be increasing your defence?

This is my attitude towards it as well. Makes playing seem like a job rather than a past time. Personally, i find things like item fluctuations interesting. I find the runescape economy as my own little stock market i can predict and gamble on, it's certainley less risky than LSE or other various stock exchanges, and certainley fun. I wouldn't say that the OP was "worrying" about what was going on, but interested and hoping to profiteer from the information he has. But yes, everyone has their own way of playing this game and different aspects of runescape appeal to different players. Each to their own, eh?

99 #9 (added Best of Bank)

Well done Colo! -
I do too, but because I have done it myself :) Congratulations!

I completely agree with summoning but not so much magic or herblore. Do you not think that people who get 94 magic to barrage, do barrage and those who get 88 and 92 herblore make their own potions? Then again i'm sure the amount of potions made probably isn't large enough to move people from 88 or 92 herblore, due to their untradeable nature.

The demographics of where the players in the highscore reside level-wise has always been something that has interested me. I'm not 100% sure that demographics is the right word or that i'm explaining this properly so i'll try to avoid using technical language that is over my head and instead explain in more literal terms with an example. On my way through slayer when I reached level 85 I believe I was ranked about 40,000 and then as i progressed through I was amazed at the ranks I gained from just one level. Of course this is obvious (for slayer) that people stop to camp but this is merely an example and I would like to discuss where you guys think there are large proportions of people with each amount of exp for different levels. Clearly there are going to be vast amounts of players 1 - 50k exp above a 99 in most skills but I would have thought there are some interesting levels in each skill where people decide to stop training for one reason or another. I believe levels ending in 0s and 5s would have slightly larger amounts of people "stopping" on them along with various other points within skills. These are just a few I can think of.. 70 agility for SGWD. 73 smithing for Varrok Diary 85 mining and smithing simply for the "rune" factor. 85 and 90 slayer for whip camping, however I think stopping at 90 isn't to camp D bows but because it's the end of all slayer monsters 43 prayer for protect from melee 70 prayer for piety and blessing gravestones On the other hand I believe there are some skills which will have less "build ups" of players. For example, 91 runecrafting - originially I decided this level would have a high proportion of players but then it came to my attention this may not be the case because on the large part, players in general get 91 runecrafting to runecraft. So i guess from a discussion point of view, where do you think some of these "stops" are, or indeed you're more than welcome to reject some of my predictions with either fact (highscores) or another theory. Admittedly I have not actually looked into this on the highscores but if anyone knows of, or can code, something that will generate a graph of players and their exp, I believe this would be extremely interesting to analyse. Just my thoughts on something i've been meaning to write for literally ages. Thanks for your time.

The problem you will face is that crimsons will be worth less at lower levels. In my opinion it depends on the time scale upon which you will be getting 88. If you're actively collecting charms for it right this moment and will continue to do so then I don't think it's worth getting it now and instead saving until you can use them at higher levels. Of course if you're not then the benefits of titan will be nice. The hidden cost with them is the price of scrolls, however, and you should take it into account. I slayed all my charms so if you're doing the same then I used my titan in CT and as such it is worth it.

Really good job, well done!

Thanks for the help guys, as for now I've got 70 construction and will get 96 prayer. I would keep it at 95 just for soul split but I guess it would be nice to quit with 138 combat. I think the leftover 20m or so will just go into getting some skills to 0 or 5. I quite fancy the idea of clearing myself out completely minus things of no monetary worth (sextant, chart, watch, etc) and then seeing if I could make it back when I rejoined. Anyway, thanks for the help all.

Basically, due to exams at school I'm quitting. I don't really wish to invest in rares or any other items for that matter, i'd rather invest in skills so I have a guarantee when/if I come back. I've sold everything of value that I own and have gathered 204m. I would like to spend it on skills but am rather stuck. Basically, just tell me what you'd do or think I should do and i'll consider them and more than likely do them Here are my stats Thanks for your help.

Hey Brainy, I've always been an advocate of your guide. Since completing seers diary 3 I enchanted my excalabur which allows me 20hp over 20 seconds as a trade for 100% of my special bar. Surely this works as a substitue for sgs (or perhaps even a direct swap if you count the guaranteed healing over sgs chance/ the reduced risk) for mages? Furthermore, the bone mace would also work as a weapon #3 for it's prayer boosting abilities? If you have considered these, i'd love to know why they're not worthwhile, if not i'm pleased I could give something back to this guide.

I'm almost certain it is an obby sheild.

If you count 1/2 as high, then yes, you're right. :ohnoes:

Tell your mate to slay.

Sorry, I should have cleared it up, it was 50m from 88 summoning. However, if you look at my money from slayer - summoning i'm up about ~200m.

Here's my story. I was runecrafting while a few RL friends were slaying. I was making some alright cash doing double cosmics whilst they were harvesting charms, clue scrolls and drops. I then (mistakenly) decided that runecrafting, and any other skills, weren't worth my time if I couldn't do them as efficiently as possible; I decided I wanted to get an abyssal titan. I slayed for my charms, planning to stop at 85, I got hooked and as I'm sure you guys know I got 99 slayer about 2 weeks ago. I calculated my charms to leave me about 1.1m shy of 99. So two trips to lobs (and 3 magic levels) later, I finally had all my charms banked. A few tedious days waiting for yak hides and a half arsed effort to get raw rabbits, I leveled up. 99 summoning was quite simply not planned until I realised I had 98 banked and decided to finish it off. Approximate cost of 50m but I've bought some stuff that i've not got to sell back such as Ahrims' and infinity boots. I've also got a fairly significant stockpile of yaks that I should have scrolled but might do in the future. [hide=99 Summoning][/hide] Next up is range to 98 then i'm going to arma with a few RL friends while I think I will start questing for WGS and TDs. I've asked on Help & Advice without much luck. Does anyone know approximately how many chins are used from 87 - 99 ranged? Still need to work on my skills a bit more 70+ is needed. I am spending a bit more time on my ps3 playing MW2. If anyone wants a game, message me your PSN and i'll add you.

Basically.. I want to get 99 ranged next out of my skills to 99. I'm almost definately doing chinchompas so the question i'm really asking is how many chins will I need (either red or grey - which is more efficient currently?) For a bit of fun I'm thinking of training range at boss monsters from 98 - 99 to try to recoup the money spent on 87 - 98, do you think this is worthwhile or would the benefit of having 99 outweigh 98 and saving money, only it seems a little counter productive to me to chin for 99 ranged and then range boss monsters? Cheers, Ed.

I already had in my head my answer "Each to their own, 50 str is a good achievement to you, well done". This was an epic surprise. 50/13
