  1. Most of the machine's flaws are offset by being controlled by a human.
  2. Current Unity Chain of Command: Jeremiah <-Captain Faust <-Cheif Tactical Earth <-Cheif Engineer Lee <-Chief Medic Chi <- Chief Scientist At the moment the best captain would really be a manager, since, in a system 'seemingly' devoid of intelligent life. On an unrelated note a repeating radiowave pattern has been detected from one of the planets. Also, two high density enegy pulses were registered from 2.3 and 2.8.
  3. CTRL means Control...like ALT means Alternate...and the one with the windows logo on means start menu. Command is the clover leaf key on Macs. Macs also have a control key, but it is different.
  4. /join #space41 tavern Since only Echo, Nero and Bonsi...and Nero is fighting Britons for 6 sessions.... are seperate from the Unity crew I will form a seperate session when they turn up. I also imagine Jeremiah is stepping down because things innevitably go wrong, which is disheatening...and with Nero going 'Haha! Super Ship, Away!' it is the straw that broke the donkey's back. Along with people complaining how they would be a better captain =P
  5. Reminded me of that bit. So...Logically...The next person to say Duck is crowned King.
  6. Kinda doesn't inspire leadership. If you want to be leaderlike, while being vague, you go 'Possibly' or 'hmmm' and if anyone says anything you respond 'Basically...' and then launch into an explaination of something...preferably answering their question.
  7. Cause the Captain wants to leave...Seriously, being annoyed is ok, but being annoyed because you are ignorant isn't ok...it is just annoying
  8. Chi: As my first action I am tying myself to the bow of the ship so I can combat ships with my face. Chi: As my second action I begin injecting everyone with thought altering nanites to mak them immune to psionics. Regency Council it is  If no one takes the captainancy then we will default back to no captain until someone claims it. As a general rule...If you are gonna try to be leader you don't point out other people's flaws which you are also guilty of... And Leadership is more about being charismatic enough to have people instictively trust that you are, not only, not against them, you are always fighting for their best interests...Hence why they follow you...And even if they disagree with you, they are willing to expend some effort to that goal. Comparatively whenever you suggest something Faust and Earth instictively see it as a bad thing.
  9. I hope it is the less serious form of serious illness, don't die, we need you <3:
  10. Unless Ross specifies someone it will be Faust...He's ill, emotional and doesn't care about the realities when morals are involved...what could go wrong. New Site is up: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/Spacetest/index.html I will PM passwords to the Captains, so bug them. For general information: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/Spacetest/Ship_Information.html Home redirects to the new site, other than that it is as is.
  11. Monday was Space, but moved to Tuesday, since I need to go to bed tonight at a reasonable time.
  12. Ok, hope you are well and it resolves itself, good luck if it does not.
  13. Nah, that Earth would still be intact, and thiriving so much that some of the ancient wonders have been built in one city. And the threat of imminent destruction meant the level 400 Plasmoids didn't need to be on show for all and sundry to see =P
  14. Oh, if Faust was in charge, I don't know then =P
  15. Well, if Wyvern wanted an independant Asgard then he could probably pull it off. Though the Unity's main problem is factionalisation, so splitting into more factions probably won't help matters. In any event there are currently three offical factions: Germanicus, Unity and Alpha Prospekt, so I am planning a revision to the website.
  16. That is the power of logic/respect...It gives people authority when they have none.
  17. Mmmm, I am not really that fussed, since one problem is unresolvable and the other isn't a problem.
  18. ...If it works no one cares that you did. If it doesn't no one cares that you did.
  19. Ok...The way I see it we have 2 options: 1) Everyone buys V2 on Steam and we play V2 on Steam. 2) Everyone buys EU3 and HTT on Steam and we play HTT on Steam. 3) Someone sets up a game of EU3 and plays all the sides, by pausing, cycling through making changes, unpausing for 1 hour, post any effects and then repeat. I vote 1.
  20. Not really. Suggestion threads die fairly quickly because the suggestion is exausted or becomes a game. Creating a set of rules designed to keep it active isn't really going to work, as it would either be copy of the back room, with the Admin have closed down in the past(1 off topic thread is more than most boards get, 2 is taking the mickey)...Or it would be a rule that said 'Person X must keep the thread on the front page' which is spam posting. If you want to make your argument easier to sift through then you could post your idea here, and if there were responces you could ask a mod to split them off into a new thread. Or just create a new thread to start with...I tend to use the backroom when I am not actually intending to make a game, I just have an idea for a game...If I am actually resolved to making the game I would create the thread.
  21. Its not certain...pending me getting a good night's sleep...but at the moment I am thinking Nero will be delayed for 6 sessions while he goes off murdering the non-Terrans and installing the iron jackboot peace and harmony across the necks of everyone in the Sol system. When he does arrive people will have the option to join the Germanicus as Terran Citizens or transfer their current character to the Germanicus, or stick with the Unity/whatever they have that isn't Germanicus. Otherly: The Germanicus and Unity are both given the 'indestructable' status, and both Captains now have the ability to perma-kill the other. If the Unity Captain (See Jeremiah) is killed then the Germanicus Captain (See Nero) will gain command of the Unity SI. This must be in a straight fight, and cannot be simply 'I transport poison into them'...They still Perma-Die but command passes to the next in the chain of command. Killing everyone will result in mothballs until resolution can be reached. Incidental killings 'I nerve gas the entire ship' or suicidal 'I swallow a handgrenade and hug them' don't count as perma-kills...It must be a clean, single person kill. Any member of the Unity crew may then call for 1 on 1 combat with the Joint Captain, which also counts as perma-death. This fight must be conducted in the dueling sim, if the Captain does not partake in the duel then they forfit the right to Unity Command. This must be done the next time both people are online. If the Crewmember is killed then command is unchanged, if the Joint Captain is killed then the Crewmember gains Command of the Unity, and the next in command of the Germanicus will gain command of the Germanicus. This can be done once per player, and is only good the session they are on for (So if you are online at the time, you need to challange them before you log off. If you are first on two weeks later, then you must challange that session.), after that the Joint Captain has complete command. Same thing, names reversed, for Germanicus SI. If a ship has no crew except the captain, then the captain may decommission the ship, destroying it forever. If everyone is dead, then command falls to whoever claims it first. You cannot claim both in this manner. Only the current holder (Unity) and the best ship (Germanicus) have this method of succession, other ships can be set up however you like.
