Apart from me and Ross, who will be on space, probably, it seems fine. Wednesdays would be best, since neither me nor Ross have sessions to run, and everyone, save Ico, can do that day without a problem.

Server down...something tells me the gods don't want you to get these seeds =P Tell me when it is back up.

I am here.

Mmm, I was fine till Earth and Nex gave up.

The puzzles are there for you...if you want to ask for help that is fine. Mods get 500 <_< Anywho, without running hegemony I managed with 25 spaces for about three months, with hegemony 25 spaces is between two and three weeks...if you are starting a new game then one to two weeks, max.

Maintainance log: Nitrous Oxide cyclinder fallen in Cryodin tank. Medical alert, Comatose personal may experiance brief periods of waking insanity. Options: 1) Flush Cryodin tank. Pros, reduces risk to personal. Cons, expensive. 2) Inform Crew. Pros, reduces risk to personal. Cons, they may attempt to do something. 3) Ignore. Pros, requires no resource input. Cons, increased risk to personal. Action: 3. (Free hand for players to be silly, without risking a random storyline which screw everything up.)

I have a feeling that either, me and Dusty will be at each other's throats the whole game...or one will just kill the other in a pre-emptive strike of epic proportions.

Japan is good if you are playing a game against people like us though...With constant war we should remain rather weak, unless the balance of power fails, in which case Fortress Europe...

Memories don't go in boxes... You are now being intentionally obtuse, which means there is no point in carrying on...You can't wake someone who is pretending to be asleep.

Yes, the universe, in an effort to be more mysterious, breaks the laws of physics...Electrons have specific locations...We don't know where they are, but they have them. I am saying gravity ignores thought. So it is possible to nullify computer data but not organic data...interesting. Also, shaking a box containing a china doll may break the doll...Undercutting your other argument. Which assumes death is a peaceful process where the mind is carefully dismantled. If you took a sledge hammer to a computer the computer itself ceases to exist...since it is a collection, rather than a single entity. Comparatively the 'mind' is a collection of thoughts, if you remove the brain, aka the container, or damage it, then they disperse, the mind ceases to exist, and the thoughts become random electrical signals. The whole is more than the sum of its parts....

Hehe, you can't win wars if your army is the same size as other peoples...as I learned fighting France, when they then mobilised after my narrow victory, and I got swamped...my poor professional army. And I didn't think you had ever used the word 'excited' before.=P

Right...So you are saying that Order is invented, Consequence is mystically enshrined as a universal truth. A) Semantics. B) Falsifiable. C) Schroedinger's Paradox is a human construction based on the fact we don't know where electrons and what not are. Electrons, oddly enough, actually do have a location... D) Order is the inherantly linear progression of A to B, nothing 'just happens'... So Order and Consequence are similar concepts, Consequence deals with 1 specific action, Order deals with every action. So not what you said then...This is what I meant about saying deep things... Also, treating physics as a set of limits is fundermentally flawed, since physics has no limits only reactions. What you mean is treating physics as a set of human defined limits as to what is tolerable/what won't kill, maim or injure you...which is a human invention... These flaws mean that you are just designing a system that is far too complicated, trying to make the facts fit the ideas rather than the ideas fit the facts...'Simply saying that rules exist, and you either need to bypass them or follow them for desired results' is far more succinct, far more accurate...and far more useful then airy fairy deep speak. So you are saying if I made scrabbled eggs from a fertalised chicken egg, the chicken's mind isn't limited in any way? Or, in computer speak, a reformatted memory card doesn't lose any of the information saved on it before the format? No...you provided a pseudo-arguement as to why our minds are unbreakable. 'Are minds are energy, energy cannot be created or destroyed, therefore our minds cannot be destroyed, therefore minds are unbreakable.' Or 'My cat has four legs, my dog has four legs, therefore my dog is a cat, therefore I can use a catflap instead of a dogflap.' Or 'A piece of coal is condensed energy, energy cannot be created or destroyed, therefore the coal cannot be destroyed, therefore my fire will never go out.' Saying our minds change is the same as saying they are destroyed and created every second, the cycle itself is bound by entropy and physics, with the energy used never being destroyed, only less ordered, less useful... Hence, like a sandwich left on a plate for a few days, it stops being useful fairly quickly...and, as such, stops being a sandwich. You can say the sandwich 'lives on' through the mold, spores and such, but it seems like a pretty limited kind of existance...and certainly it does not exist as the unbreakable sandwich...

Yup, I can agree with that. Original ideas exist, but they are rare, and you can never be sure they are actually original... So...A lie is basically an incorrect fact... The more you know. Order exists...everything has a cause and effect...tis the basis of physics...which most of the succesful animals, plants and single cell lifeforms have grasped. Also this undercuts the actual meaning of the 'Nothing is true, everything is permitted' idea.* God/Science Abuse and Mind Control kinda counter those points...as does brain damage and such. Also contradicts your previous statement, that there are no rules...since physics are a set of rules. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falsifiable Positing something that cannot be shown to be wrong doesn't count as proof...Any more than me positing that you are the devil incarnate, and that, since you can't prove you aren't, it proves that it is true. Infact the opposite stance is commonly taken, in that saying something is right without any method of disproving it is generally seen as a, in roleplay language, handwave...It is because it isn't something else. Also: *Saying deep things only works when those deep things are actually deep, and you actually know what you are talking about. Basing your world view on the belief that 'nothing is true, everything is permitted' very quickly meets it's demise when you stop believing you are hungry, permit dagger blades to keep your warm and decide you can fly because gravity is a lie. On the other hand, if you intrepret it as saying that you should never believe anything so certainly that you disbelieve anything that contradicts it...then it makes sense. It allows you think 'deep' things...So rather than thinking 'I can't fly' you come to the conclusion 'My present form, in the present environement, cannot fly, I must change one or the other in order to fly.' Therefore it doesn't mean there aren't rules, just things we can't do...quite the reverse...there aren't things we can't do, only rules which we must follow to do those things... So either you, or whoever instructed you on that, has fundermentally missed the meaning, and as we know from Chaos Theory, one tiny mistake at the beginning and everything changes to something unregonisable.

The words 'Quiet' and 'Life' spring to mind  For referance, I have stayed up far too long, so I may be marginally late(9 hours time, so I should be fine, but just a warning).

Who are you and what have you done with Dusty! I will take Brandenburg. Three reasons: 1) Prussia, aka Germany, aka reason to expand. 2) I like politicing more than fighting. 3) No strong reason to colonise, which seems to be my undoing in most games... Just fighting the 1900-1909 2nd Confederate War to Liberate West Virginia, as Prussia/Germany...Loaded my ships, sent them off, few months later they arrive, 1 division....So I head back, get intercepted by the Union Navy, which is more developed than mine, so flee....They begin chasing me, so I stand and fight, knowing I will lose, building a new fleet with my bazzilion pounds(Fell asleep for two years  ). Since that will take a year to do I try to end the darned Ottomen War to annex Yeman, which stalled because the Ottomen Empire is full of rebels. So I grab my reserve fleet, stationed at Suez and sail to the final island controlled by Yeman...No troops onboard. Feeling fairly annoyed I butcher my 'German Africa Defence Force' (Eithopia, Kenya, Uganda and surroundings) stick some troops on the ship, declare war on Oman via misclick, declare war on Yeman, infamy rising, invade the island...nothing happens. A month later I am advancing my forces through Ottomen occupied Yeman to hit Oman, trying to correct for the horrible generals I had(-3 Attack, +20 Morale +2 Reliablity, the other had -2 Attack and -2 Defence), when I get a message that Oman is attacking from the African Coast. Quickly redirecting my forces I purge their force and occupy their 1 province in Africa. France takes this moment to launch yet another war on Spain, so I set a timer, 45 minutes, and prepare my army to invade France. Annoyed about Yeman I take the infamous option to demand a concession, they then immediately are annexed by the Ottoman Empire, which revolts, leaving two armies trapped in Ottoman controlled Yemen, which is fortunately coastal, so my reserve fleet picks them up 3 at a time and drops them in Oman to end the war, stealing their province in Africa and ending that annoyance. Portugual, who got owned by Britian sometime ago, is fighting the 6th War of Annexation(w/e) against the Zulus, so I send an army group to help my allies...but no, turns out I can't defend my allies unless they ask me too, so my army wanders back up to Kenya. My timer goes off and I check my infamy, 12.something...Since I already have Alsace-Lorraine any option will increase it...and I am still at war with the USA(Filthy Slave Owners), so it would be 30-36 years till I could next attack France for good reason...So France continues to lay into Spain, taking another portion of Northern Spain to add to Cantalonia. I pootle about, waiting for my fleet to be built when I hear the 'army ready' sound and am confused since I haven't ordered any units since before the start of the war...then realisation dawns and I admire my shiny new tank division...first in the world. I order two dozen more and spend a while outfitting all my armies with them, untill my ships are ready. All the while my 1 Unit in the back of beyond has been occupying Washington, admist two (out of 3) of the Unions 63,000 strong armies. The Confederates were far more intrested in gurillia tactics, with a dozen 9,000 strong armies conquering provinces left right and center. Somehow, with no input from me, it managed to occupy it, then, feeling rather chuffed with itself, had got mown down by one of the massive armies before I could retreat it...now its about revenge. To the hummed tune of Flight of the Valkyries my fleet departs from harbour, getting half way across the Atlantic before turning around and collecting the army... To the hummed tune of Jupiter, Bringer of Jollity, my fleet again departs from the harbour...going on and on as it slowly crosses to America, depositing its precious cargo of 15,000 tanks and 15,000 guards. Then engages a Union Crusier, weighlaying it for what seems like hours, before picking up the next lot. Meanwhile my armies drive around the CSA, putting down the rebel hoard and testing the tank's power. While checking through the ever extending list of totally useless generals I come across a +5 Attack, and instantly place him in command of sitting next to Cincinati...The only plains province in a sea of hills and forests. Finally the CSA draw the Union army into Cincinati, and I patiently wait for the CSA to be thrashed as per normal...then I attack, plowing an awesome 13 battle score against 3, making up for my just under 2 to 1 disadvantage. I check on my fleet, finding it, again, engaged in a battle with a single Cruiser, wasting so much time. Back in Cincinati my forces are grinding up the half Guard half peasent army of the Union when disaster strikes...the other 60 strong army plows into me. Then a miracle...the CSA, rather than doing their normal pathetic 'quick, rush the provinces' rushes to my assistance, giving me an army of 67 thousand to combat the 111 thousand...With just by +5 Attack General standing between me and defeat. My fleet finally gets free, I land my army and plow into the other 63 thousand strong army which has been doodling on the Canadian border with three 20 strong CSA armies. Though two miracles was too much to hope for as the CSA disappear to deal with get another rebel uprising, and karma attacks when my second armies general, +2 Attack, dies...leaving me at -2 Attack, trying to desperately retreat. While I wait for the other 4 days to pass(so I can retreat), I send my fleet home again, having repaired their attritional damage, ready to pick up another of my armies. The second army finally retreated and I stripped Suez of its +3 Defence general, sticking him in the second army. The American army, not expecting him to be whisked around the world in five days, crashes into a -5 dug in modifer, as well as -1 hills...Combined with my +3 defence I have a +9 advantage, which is instantly useful as I get a 0 and they get a 9. My first army finally detaches from the massive battle...the CSA get suprised by the concept of not losing and flee, leaving me to chase one of the two armies with a heavily depleted tank core...though of course my +5 general can do no wrong, sowing the seeds of death...But being a realistic kinda game, the seeds take another 16 months of chasing the Union army around America to actually bear the toxic fruits. Meanwhile my third army sets about chasing down the other army, the one not engaged by either of my current armies, with a +2 Attack plucked from my army in Metz...replaced with a morale and speed general...anyway, the CSA provide an unknowing roadblock, allowing me to finish off the army in just four months of cat and mouse. My second army, still holding out on the hills of somewhere in north west central North America, is losing the war of attrition, plagued by constant +9 for them, 0 for me. The battle drags on, with their score now muted to a 5 (dig in bonus ended) while mine is usually 3...Is finally joined by the CSA, though about 3 minutes later my general handily dies, letting me get a +4 Defence general from one of the CSA forces...though annoying as well. The Union Navy finally gets it's act together and blockades my fleet in a CSA port, so the war continues as cat and mouse, while the CSA continue taking provinces, both taskes finishing within a month of each other...But the CSA's constant retreats mean the warscore is only 68...So I need to get to Panama and conquer that to offset the Battle Modifer and force the USA to accept the CSA's extensive list of territorial demands(Maryland, Missouri, Oklahoma and West Virginia) as well as my demand for Mexico to take control of American Texas(Thus denying America Oil supplies...since I was still ridiculously high on infamy and couldn't take it for myself, more's the pity.) But even with 100% Warscore and 100% Union war exaustion, they wouldn't take the whole deal, forcing me to remove Missouri from the demands...and now, finally, there is peace again...Except for Portugual's war with Morroco and the unsettling build up of troops between Austria/Hungry and Russia...both my allies...Having taken Bohemia off Austria a while ago and fought to regain Ostprussia(East Prussia) from Russia after they backstabbed me while I was fighting France...back when France wasn't riddled with rebels, and was allied to all of Western Contiental Europe...Before Netherlands became a great power, Belgium was split into Waldonia, Flanders and Belgium...the first two in my SOI, Switzerland taken into my SOI after a ridiculously long war with France...and Luxembourg was freed and now suffers a rebellion every other year. Denmark reduced to Copenhagen and Greenland...Greenland always rebelling after Iceland declared independance, and in my SOI. And thats pretty much it for Europe...Britian is on 16,000 odd score, the next best is Russia 5,000ish, followed by the German Empire, lagging by about 120 points. Ultimately happy with Europe, since France is degenerating, Austria seems like it is finally recovering from the multiple wars of Hegmony I had to fight to get Germany formed, so might be interesting and Russia/Sweden don't have any decent industry targets in reach. Though stability in the Great Powers is favourable...Since the CSA keeps edging from secondary to Great Power, which makes it more difficult to handle. :-| So, yeah. That is my standard of gameplay, compare as you wish.

Hmmm... Discussion: 'Does Original Thought Exist?' Proposal: 'No, everything is copied from something else.' Counter-Proposal: 'What about Mercy, it doesn't occur naturally, so someone must have invented it.'

It simply stopped appearing on scans. There are multiple minor damage points caused by wear and tear, but nothing seriously serious.

[hide]Now these points of data make a beautiful line, it could an inch longer but we ran out of time, so we're glad they all froze, think of all the things we knows, for the people who are still alive. And there's no sense crying over every mistake, we'll just keep on trying till we run out of cake and so the science gets done and we make a neat gun, for the people who are still alive. Look at us still talking when there's science to do, if we looked out there then we'd want to die to, but we've experiments to run, and research to be done, on the people who are still alive.[/hide] Europa still only has a tenous oxygen atmosphere, very little surface plant or animal life and a lack of land. All we did was fire a few million seeds into the ocean, creating 100-200 square kilometers of crop. Jen was on her way back to Earth/disappeared off our sensor screen when the USA/UN was attack, while her death is 99.9% assured, it is not certain. Otherly, I am still not sure what you are actually planning on doing, something between flash freezing the dead and flash freezing the living. I should point out that flash freezing the entire station would not be possible without some degree of refit, since the life support systems were not designed to recycle Carbon Dioxide on this scale, let alone produce enough Cryo Gas to flash freeze everything...and recycle Carbon Dioxide...so the death rate would be around 60%, taking two hours, at least 1 and a half hours of that would be time with some frozen and some not frozen. Also to be noted is that supplies from Europa still need to be ferried to Asgard or they will simply starve at the end of the next session. Several additional user accounts have been created onboard the Asgard Server, while not unusual in itself...birth and death and such...the accounts are not drawing their full quota of food, which may be considered suspitious, given the current value of food. The Science Bay onboard Asgard has also disappeared. Analysis from Earth's Pirana Flight indicates that Station Alpha is building two Destroyers at present, though don't have the resources to complete said project as of yet. An extended skirmish between Alliance and Commonwealth forces lead to the destruction of the Rutland Asteroid, death toll is around 1,900,000, along with both of the Destroyers of the Commonwealth and three Escorts from the Alliance. Between 100 and 150 thousand Commonwealth Citizens are unaccounted for, an undisclosed figure being taken by Alliance Forces, while 'fleets' of semi-habitable sections are though to have survived, along with escape pods, transport ships, shuttles and the like. While the Commonwealth Space Force was dealing with the Alliance attack force, an Alliance Escort slipped through, conducting a raid on Boomer Base, killing just under 100,000 people, stealing 500 kT of supplies, and destroying 4,500 kT more. Boomer Base faces mass starvation, at least 350,000 more to die in the next month. Britian has stepped up patrols of their local space, but nothing otherwise.

'If you ground down the universe into the finest sand, and sieved it through the finest sieve, then you would not find one atom of justice, one molecule of mercy. And yet - and yet you act like there is some ideal order in the world, as if there some...some rightness in the Universe by which it may be judged.' You can't say that originality is impossible. Every time you lie you invent ideas, and even if you say that we are just using other events, not inventing them, then I say the above...Mercy, Justice, Freedom...They are all Human Inventions, or at least someone, somewhere, invented them, because they don't exist in nature. Unless you happen to be someone who is Godfearing, in which case I would say that God is an original thinker. If you aren't...then surely God is an example of something else original. If you want to be obtuse then yeah, everything can be defined in joules, or watts, or whatever...thoughts, definations and ideas as configerations of mass and energy, but what does that get you? The truth? No, it just means you are so close you can't see the wood for the trees.

I can do it. Wednesdays, 8-12, GMT. Thats 20 sessions by your estimate(more likely 30 given stuff)
