So what it probably was...was that they overbooked and decided it would be easier to just say you never applied... Either that or the school system is being overloaded... Either way, its not good.

The year is 2050, Retech is on the last shuttle leaving Earth before the bombs start falling: Guard: Hello CEO. Retech: Hello nameless mook. Guard: Sir, you know how you took that strict 'Qulification are neccessary' policy...you know, to weed out all the useless people? Retech: I am familiar with my own policies, now get out of my way! Guard: Can't do that Sir, seems like everything you did after the year... 2011... Was fraudlent, you didn't pass precalc, and so you were ineligable for calc, and so only got a 3.0 (or whatever American education systems are different so sue me), so you failed the entry requirements for Evil Dictator School, so all your courses automatically failed. Retech: GET OUT OF MY WAY WORTHLESS PERSON I NEVER BOTHERED TO LEARN THE NAME OF. Board of Directors: We have agreed that someone who didn't get into Evil Dictator School can't run an American Corporation, your fired. Retech: YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME, I KEPT THIS COUNTRY SECOND AGAINST CHINA! BoD: We have decided to take credit for that, since you are ineligable. Retech: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! And then hilarity ensued.

Well...Four O-Clock in the morning, going up some stairs-in the dark, is neither the time, nor place, for metaphysical theories. Last thing you want is to start questioning the existance of the chairs, the nature of sight and what the handrail actually represents. Now then, who does this remind you of? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCyUUy6Jhic&feature=related

Well, that is something that you and Gunnari need to work out for yourselves. Did you stay at the Tavern, or come looking for the Wizard. Also, please try not to metagame...try to act in character.

Couldn't they walk by the Stall, see me already there, know I was probably doing deception, roll perception to see people in the crowd?
-
You could kill the hostiles in the crowd... Ross and me are more well placed to knock the guy out.
-
I have 27 gp. And the absolute max time to prepare is 1 hour. If you and Kalan brought some Oil of Silence I suppose you could snipe him when the session starts...Though we want the Wizard to live, just be knocked out.
-
Fraid not. However you would, logically, have gone to the merchant over the course of the hour that I and he talked...: Augustus: Supr- Loran: IFATREEFALLSINTHEFORESTANDNOONEISAROUNDTOHEARITDOESITMAKEASOUNDHEYWHATSTHATOVERTHERESNEAKATTACK Augustus: -ise! *Falls to floor cluching face* Hostiles in the crowd: Oi, You SUPRISE! Cathran: *Taps one of the hostiles on the shoulder* Guess what...SUPRISE. Kalan: But...I wanted to shout suprise. :( Gunnari: *Says nothing, pulls out a gun and shoots at the hostiles.* Caliber: ...Thats it, I am out of here. Or you would, logically, depart as soon as you are present in session, since there is nothing else you can do at the bar. In any event I have learned some important lessons...First: 1) Teams should be comprised of at least 2 active peoples. 2) We need to have designated meeting places, so we have the logical capacity to meet up. 3) We should, at earliest convienance, acquire a device for communicating at a distance.
-
Well...Metagame: Ok. Here is the situation: After you left I convinced the guard to take me to the magic stall, and then discussed things with Augustus for around an hour. Found out not much of any real use, though there may be as many as 15 people wrongfully accused by him, and he has various equipment worth several hundred thousand Gold... The line of questioning brough us to conflict, and I (my character) knows there are between one and several people/things behind us, and they are just about to attack us(Huzzah). Not sure what Ross' character knows, should ask Wyvern when free. Now then, there is no way to find out where the people are being kept, save for capturing the Wizard Alive...naturally difficult because he is a Wizard, and because we are going to be attacked from both sides. Also it seems that the stall fits people up for crimes, so things could go badly wrong no matter what...so vitally important no one takes anything. Currently my 2 plans involved fleeing helplessly...or brutally attacking and hopefully subduing the Wizard. There is one other IMPORTANT thing to notice, and that is that, I believe, based on Wyvern's comments and my own belief's about how I handled the situation...That the Wizard doesn't consider me/Ross to be a serious threat...more of an annoyance who might have pried too close to the truth. IF that is the case, then we may be able to negotiate ourselves out of this (I am somewhat doubtful of that), but it is significant because there has been hinted that there is more than one wizard involved. As such if we all blunder in we are showing our hand. That said, don't let me or Ross die

Aye, very good game. Truely first rate  Just need to think ourselves out of this corner we(I) painted us into.

For ALG: [hide] [/hide] Should be accurate to the best of my abilities. Notes: You don't have any sort of backpack item, so carrying stuff (thermatically) is difficult =P Still have half your money left. You haven't chosen spells for your rogue talent spell like abilities. You are 1 pound over your light load limit (Probably not overly important, but just so you know) The 't's in the inventory are supposed to be squares for you to tick off as you use up the charges of an item, though the converter from pdf to png changed them to 't's. (If anyone wants a sheet drawn up then I can do that)

Spoilage On a boat? Fishing would leave us rather open to attack.

Mather, overall I agree with your points(Not about alcohol and such, but that is a seperate point entirely)...the majority of the blame should fall on Nex for making a big deal out of what is, afterall, not that much of a big deal. It (Eating lots of sugar) is, a silly thing to do, but we are all guilty of doing silly things, and we should expect some ribbing for that. My only real problem was with: It is, regardless of what you say, a banner that says 'Pity me'. You are asking for people to treat you more...gently, for want of a better word...because of a medical condition. People will make up their own minds on how to treat you and you need to respect that as much as possible, or it just generates hostility, as can be seen. And regardless of who is blame for that hostility, you, and the people like you(aka me), are the people who bear the brunt of the resentment generated. So you can throw your condition around if you want, but it doesn't help matters.
-
I leave for a few hours and now Mather is winning an argument... Thats true... On the other hand...I deal with it. Seriously, I am absolutely terrible at all social activities, I know, accept and deal with that fact. How do I do this I hear you ask? Well, it is fairly simple...I know that people don't want to hear about the various facets of my day, I know that people have little or no interest in my ramblings about the way the world works, or the state of this, or that. Because I know this I avoid talking to other people unless they initate the conversation, and I compensate by taking an active interest in everything and anything anyone talks to me about. Thusly, I can bypass my crippling social deficency in the majority of cases. Even going so far as to having friendships...even if they are terribly one sided a lot of the time. And from these friendships I have been able to draw on experiances and develop sets of tactics and such for dealing with conversations I have to initate, and dealing with conversations were I have to control things. These conversations invariably break down at some point, but for a while I am capable of having a proper conversation. As such, if I, who quite probably, given our history, my therapist's notes and ect, have a case of similar or equal level aspergers...Then to have you come along and go 'Actually...I can't really be asked...Pity me.' Is unbelievably offensive. Yeah, I understand, sometimes you want to tell random people random things that you are absolutely sure that they will be interested in...I get that, I will desperately want to tell Louis something totally random which relates to a conversation I remember from a year or two ago that he probably found to be of little consequence...and yet for an hour, or two, that trivial bit of information is so massively consuming that any time that I am not doing something I will find myself debating whether or not to tell him about it. And, of course, sometimes people find it interesting, and the majority of the time they don't. There is no way to really distingush between the two, since if we could then we wouldn't have the same degree of trouble as we do...We would just instictively know that it really isn't THAT important to share that information. And so we have a very simple choice... We can either hold back as much as we can, releasing only occassionally, when we think we have a clear sign from the other person that they would be receptive to the information we have...which is what I do, and more often than not it is flattened into the conversation, and we move on because, although it was interesting, it really wasn't that big a deal. OR You can bring it up, drawing attention to it and then get annoyed when they don't find it particularly interesting. Then get into a discussion about how you feel that people should respect your views by virtue of you not being able to contain them. Now then, do I expect you to take the blindest bit of notice? No, of course not. My finely honed skill of detecting how interested someone is in what I have to say is telling me that no one here actually gives two thoughts to this issue, because it is a non-issue. People are annoyed because this is not an isolated issue, but one that has accumulated over a long period of time, and because of that the patience that people might have once had is no longer there. How ludicrous. Thats like saying 'Child care is not a medical condition, it is a physical one, there is no medicine that can ease it... unless you count alcohol and date-rape drugs...' The 'problem' is still there...You are just decreasing the amount of time you have to 'endure it'...and by not enduring it you are setting yourself up for greater and greater problems later and later in your life. As to Retech's hypothesis, I would draw you attention to Parkinson's Law of Social Work: And increasing number of Professors of Psychology, and an increasing number of Psychological Professionals has increasing the supply of the resource, and thus demand must, invariably, inflate to match supply.

Those are the only two options...Eat a kilo of sugar, or eat half a kilo of sugar and post a blog about it...

One time, based on anecdotal, primary, incomplete, inaccurate evidence, with no attempt at redress, validation or explaination, does not a useful piece of data make.
-
Have to agree... I am a strong advocate of self-experimentation...But generally when you start drawing conclusions and posting them for outside discussion, you are going too far. If you have done scientific experimentation for a number of weeks, using the scientific method and measuring equipment...Then yeah, sure. One time, based on anecdotal, primary, evidence with no attempt at validation or explaination, does not a useful peice of data.

Psht, 5 people support your idea....Thats not even how history works! History is a record of factual events which happened, or are supposed to have happened, supported by the overwhelming evidence provided...Not by an Oligarchic voting system in which only 5 people get to vote. England, the constitutent part of America, is named after the Peninsula of Angeln, in northern Germany...Where the Germanic people known as the Angles came from. Ergo, your argument is pure semantics, another example of the American Education system, which I, in no way, find sub-par.

To bring this back to the topic at hand... You would also have some nice music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WachC7CN0Y&feature=related More legitimately: For 500 years after the Roman Empire fell, the Britons of the south and east of the island were assimilated or displaced by invading Germanic tribes (Angles, Saxons, and Jutes, often referred to collectively as Anglo-Saxons) So you were colonised by Germans...
