  1. Well, the Client seems not to be working, but the server is up...so: http://www.kvirc.net/ Download, install, sign in. Server is irc.tip.it
  2. Yeah, it just sets itself to the index....
  3. If Obama can't do his job, then get rid of him.
  4. Ron Paul turns people off when he talks about following the US Consitution and Self Determination for the Middle East. Obama has damaged the American Healthcare System, not pulled out of Iraq, not closed Guantanmo...Not really done anything useful. On the plus side, a vote for him is a vote for equality, cause electing people based on the colour of their skin isn't racist. What will probably happen is what has happened in Britain: You have a Thatcherite character (Bush) who departs from reality on a pipe dream (War on Terror), then, as a reaction to that, you have several years of a Labour Government (Obama), lead, essentially, by a charismatic twit while the Thatcherite party (Republicans) rebuild themselves. And to counter balance the Charismatic twit, you get a Charismatic Nutjob ruling the Thatcherite Party (Republicans) who gets elected and decides to remove Human Rights. Its all part of the rich tapestry of history...If Obama gets re-elected, barring a global catastrophy, the Republicans will be elected in 2016(I think???), and will be lead by a person that is an extremist. If he doesn't, then it breaks the chain and something else will happen.
  5. Nope, its ocean going, with a 10 ft draft.

  7. Well, we need a Keelboat for 10,000 gp, since we have no more room on the ship...Unless someone wants to split.
  8. Instead it has large sheets of strong wood with Iron Rings through, along with a length of rope, lying on either side of a doorway. Simply grab rope and heave the wood into position, then tie to second Iron Ring. In the event of flooding close doors, the water pressure in the flooded compartment will keep the door sealed. Doors are NOT a long term solution. Do NOT obstruct doors. There will be a fine of 1 days pay for anyone found to be obstructing doors. Players bunking below deck must buy own doors (10gp each. Locks must be brought seperately.) (Information is repeated here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/Ship%20Inventory.txt Though I will update as we go)
  9. Not really. What you are confusing is ISP servers and Local Internet Exchanges (Or it is country confusion, whatever) If each ISP brought a building, laid multi-terabyte cables to said building, then laid multi-terabyte cables to Oslo, then things would be amazingly expensive and extremely redundant. So what nominally happens...especially in countries which have a working Telephone network...Is that a company buys a building, lays the cables to said building and the major Internet Exchange, then leases parts of the bandwidth allowance to other companies, and other companies do the same thing, and thus all the companies split the costs of doing it, while making a profit off of each other. Further, what they do is link these various buildings together, rather than linking all of them directly back to the major Internet Exchange. It is somewhat similar to train stations...You don't link every trainstation to Oslo because it would be expensive, so what you do is create trunk lines and branch lines(like a tree), thus with one rail line you link dozens of stations to Oslo. So you aren't connecting to the same 'Company' you are linking to a different company unless, as you do, you happen to live near a local Internet Exchange operated by your company. Though the same point applies. EB, probably, isn't going to run their Multi-Terabyte cable exclusively for you, and if they don't have that many customers, as you imply, then the chances are they are going to fail horribly, or they are leasing their cable out. In any event had it been an ISP problem other people would be affected by it, and since they weren't, its a problem with your computer...as was proved. I see. And Drammen isn't that far from Oslo (about 24 miles for anyone else following the conversation(for some inexplicable reason)) so it is entirely possible that you are only a purely EB connection to the IXP. But the point remains. If it was a problem with the ISP they would fix it when they became aware of it and there would be nothing you could do, so: And they would become aware of it reasonably quickly because, unless the bug was 'Do not display images from Tinypic on [Your IP]'[in code], which would be amazingly unlikely, there would be other consequences.
  10. Lucky, people keep messanging me on it. ISPs, at least in this country, tend to cover...this country... For instance I can connect to Virgin Media here(Wales) or at home(Kent)... I can also connect to Plusnet, or Eclipse...or another other Internet Service Provider that happens to be operating in a given area. All of them pay the local Internet Exchange, yes, which only covers a given area, but all the computers connected to the Internet connect through the same Exchange(in a Given area, excluding Satelite and such). So if one service provider has a problem there, all of them have a problem there... So I don't really get your point... Maybe Norway operates some different structure, but in the majority of cases a company will not personally lay a wire from their HQ (or server) to your house, but rather use the existing connection, routed through local Internet Exchanges... Anything else would be extremely expensive.
  11. Yup. Its probably a problem with your ISP, which only affects you and Tinypic, because, as we all know, ISPs only have one customer.
  12. A network error that only affects you...Convienant.....
  13. Do whatever it was that you did to make it suddenly stop working? Things stop working and start working again for myraid reasons, for instance Steam refused to load yesterday, having checked around it was because the Steam Server (whatever) had crashed, so I couldn't log on. Several hours later I attempted it and still couldn't log on.(Most probably due to some sort of feedback loop) so I ignored it, restarted the computer this morning and lo it works. Leaving things doesn't mean leaving things, it means letting other processes WHICH YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE OF to occur. Then you need to fix your computer...Why you are blaming other people for something which you KNOW to be systemic is beyond me. Unless you are suggesting that MSPFA, Nex and Ley have conspired to not display images on your computer...
  14. Mather, they are all working for me except Lei. I would recommend leaving it a few days, maybe clearing your temporary files or something, since the problem is definately your end(not including Lei). Earth, I have a Facebook page but never use it, and am not even aware of how Twitter works (Anyone who explains it will recieve such a tweeting  )
  15. Everything is on Facebook, and the majority of things are on Twitter. I know people who have created Facebook pages for the spider in their bathroom...We live in embaressing times. On an unrelated note, the finale to a rather interesting film about Information Management(Dun Dun DUNNNNN): Its by Terry Gilliam, so anyone who likes Monty Python should like it...Anyone who is an 'Information Professional' will like it because of the 'Info-Humour'...and anyone who is particularly Orwellian will like it.
  16. Ok, so between chapters in the book I have to read: The summery of what happened last night for people who were not here: We fought the pirate hoard, and after a rather grueling fight (made worse by my mismanagement  ), we came away with a ship and some loot(detailed later). The ship we acquired is made from a material known as 'Soarwood', which is like Darkwood, but even lighter. The vessel also has a double hull, and managed to take on two Arcana-Cruisers (Ships with Wizards as the main armament). However the ship is damaged...(somewhere between 'Slightly' and 'Its smashed to hell' depending on what we want to do with the ship.) We can sell the ship, for an undetermined sum of money, I would assume around 10,000-20,000 gp, though could be as low as 8,000. We could then buy another ship which was in good working order, but wasn't plot relevant. Added to that we have a strange woman who seems to know a lot about the ship, who wants to be the Captain of the ship. (Dun dun dunnnnnnn) In exchange she wants to have 'most of our storage space for trading' (Dun Dun Dunnnnnn) and is willing to pay for all of our repairs (DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN). I, naturally, am skeptical of this offer, and am generally adverse to taking an unknown ship, with an unknown captain, out into the great unknown, to search for unknown artifacts, on unknown islands. That is at least 2 more unknowns than I would be comfortable with. Especially while the Ghost Ship making way directly for the Island we are on. And while we still have a Wizard in a cupboard. Arguably we could do both, though if it turns out she is a witch or whatever it might then we too late to actually get rid of her...And a magic user, on a ship that smacks of magic, neither of which we understand in any great detail, seems far far far too hazardous in my opinion. In purely metagaming terms: There seems a strong leaning towards us keeping the ship, getting the woman onboard and she becomes our major quest giver and font of general knowledge, who possible gets us into trouble from time to time. Ok then loot: +1 Chainmail [1030] +1 Battleaxe (Glowing) [2310] +1 Shield [1159] 3 Flasks of Divine Favour [50ea] 1 Potion of Bulls Strength [300] (Owned by Ross) Boots of Winterlands [2,500] Feather Token(Anchor) [50] (Owned by Ross) 5 GP Just so you know, I have no interest in everyone getting 'their fair share'. The loot we get is collected up, people who want items can take them, everything else is stored until useful, or we decide to trade it in for cash. If you are replacing an old item (Armour, weapon, ect) then that goes in the chest. Cash is divided whenever we reach a port on an equal basis, after ship running costs (Food, water, cannons, ect) are deducted. As an aside to Wyvern, can you post or send me an overview of the ship? I would like to actually design my room, if nothing else =P

  20. Gotta love this program (Merlin): The King is lying on the floor having fallen out of his chair, what is my first responce? Where is his servant? I better go look for her. *Wanders aimlessly into the Castle to look for the servant, leaving the King on the ground*
