  1. Well, here comes the next batch of 11. I am now all the way to page 3. Quick review, if you ask a Yes/No question I read as follows: Coins - NO, but it's not a terrible bad no Swords - NO, and it's as bad as you feared. Cups - YES, and in a positive way. Clubs - YES, but not in the way that you would have hoped And a broad reading is as follows: Cups, which replaces hearts, represents happiness and love. Coins, which replaces diamonds, means wealth--either monetary or interpersonal. Clubs represents conflict or a rivalry. Swords, replacing spades, means aggression, sickness, sorrow, and overall bad things What kind of deck? No idea really. I bought it from the back of this old store in northern Michigan. I really don't think they are technically even Tarot cards, for they do not have the 22 Trump Major cards :| it is simply a deck of cards that has swords/cups/pentacles/wands rather than clubs/hearts/diamonds/spades. However the cards intrigue me, and I have managed to do quite a but with them. I'm not a superstitious guy in any means, but I don't want to real Tarot cards since I think I would feel bad for the my current deck :uhh: Anyway, I like my deck and it works for me. I do have another method, and I prefer it to the others, but it requires that the person is physically next to me, since the person getting the reading needs to draw the cards. I deal out cards facedown in a decagon, then make a cross in the center. I then ask the person to pick cards, one by one, that seem to stand out to him in some way. Oh an by all means, feel free to answer any new questions if anyone asks them. If you want, start a new thread in a month or so  Hmm, first card draw was a low level ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åno̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  2. Sex change by surgery is bizzare to me, I don't mind that people do it but I admit I would probably feel a little uncomfortable around people that had it done. There was a prominent scientist who said a few years back "By 2030 we will have the technology that would allow two people to switch physical bodies while keeping their mental state intact" :-s Now that would defiantly change the situation. I think if that technology was perfected, than people should be able to use it to change bodies with someone from the opposite gender who also wished to change. I see nothing wrong with that.
  3. I will answer no new questions posted after this post! However if you ask politely maybe xvillexvalox will
  4. June 16th, 2007 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Revelation Day 10 The tenth day. If you are reading this, I am officially 20 years old, born on June 16th, 1987. It is strange to think that I am no longer a teenager :| That was a crucial point of this series, to bring up some thought provoking arguments in my last days before I leave the infamous ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åteenager social class̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  5. Can you show me a link that tells me exactly how many of those students in those high ranked universities are actually American? Sure, for undergrad the numbers are as follows Harvard = 91% American Stanford = 95% American MIT = 91.3% American Was your friend rich, and thus did he pay full tuition? The way financial aid is built into American Universities, it's basically a system of having the rich help and pay for the poors' education. If conditions are bad enough for someone, and if the Uni they're going to has the right financial aid, they could go to college without paying a single penny, with maybe a small maybe $4-6,000 dollar loan to pay years later. Me, I'm on the rich, no-financial-aid, side of the spectrum, so I am (or rather, my parents) going to be paying full tuition to help those who can't afford it. Indeed, I am going to a $36,000 a year school. For getting a 3.7 GPA in high school I got a $21,000 yearly scholarship from the school, thus my education only costs $15,000. Schools post high prices so the rich can help pay for the poor, and so when they do offer a scholarship it will seem like a lot to the kid. Example: Why have a $5,000 school when you could have a $15,000 school where every kid gets a $10,000 scholarship? This way the kids feel like their aren't going somewhere cheap and the parents are proud that their kids "earned" 10 grand.
  6. Wow, do I feel weird being the 1st person ever interviewed for the 'Times. I'm on Zezima's level apparently  Congratulations on the growth and prestige of the Tip.it Times!
  7. Pfft, if Wiki is wrong than the world explodes. Nah, I agree with you. But regardless of the technical term, they were still human in design and thought. They were more advanced than the stone age 'humans' and were far and apart different from apes at this point. The only difference between them and us is some facial bone structure and probably a slightly different composition of digestive enzymes
  8. Ah, I suppose it is how you define "human". Wikipedia states "Hunting and gathering was presumably the only subsistence strategy employed by human societies for more than five million years, until the end of the Mesolithic period" So yea, depends on how technical you want to get with the word human.
  9. The US isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's got a horrible government, terrible civil rights (beat by both our allies, Canada and the UK currently), huge poverty problems, a rising crime rate, a horrible school system, and a falling economy, among other things. And we are not the richest. Maybe in physical dollars, but you can't measure that way, in GDP we fall shorter than Luxembourg and I can't remember the rest. And we rank in the 20's on the UN's best country's list, alongside the UK as Canada places around third. Okay, than use I just said, but put in "the UK" or "Canada", I wasn't trying to act all "gung-[garden tool] America!". Oh and not to be nitpicky, but Luxemburg might have the US beat in per capita GDP, since it has less than a million people and a huge tourist industry. But in actual GDP? The US wins bar none: 1 United States 13,244,550 2 Japan 4,367,459 3 Germany 2,897,032 4 China 2,630,113 5 U.K. 2,373,685 6 France 2,231,631 65 Luxemburg 40,577 numbers given in millions of dollars Also, I'm not trying to be one of those "America is the best!" type posters but I do find it funny that everyone criticizes America's high schools, yet no one seems to mention that American Universities sort of dominate the ranking.
  10. This might be one of those untrue 'facts' that get passed along, but I heard that there are more homosapiens living now than there are total dead. I don't know man, unless you believe in creationism, realize that humans have been around for about 5 million years. We are at ~6 billion people now. To reach 6 billion deaths over .005 billion years, would only require that 1200 people need to have died each year. 1200*5 Million = 6 billion. I would have to go out on a limb and say that whatever you heard, it might be one of those untrue 'facts' that get passed along :XD:
  11. By the way, there is just one day left... I will be out of town nearly all day tomorrow, so I won't be able to reply to anything or do any Tarot readings (I'll do them all over the weekend, I promise!), but I will be back home before midnight tomorrow, so I hope you will all be awaiting the final thread. You won't be disappointed :)
  12. June 15th, 2007 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Stand Back and Look at it All. Day 9 As a race we strive to improve the standard of living we all share. Think about it, what do we accomplish as a society? Build roads, improve technology, prevent diseases, and try to live with doing as little hard labor as possible. Why do we do this? ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅTo advance society̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  13. Currently yes, today and tomorrow I have a lot of RL stuff going on. But like I said, this weekend I will have time to answer the backlog And, thanks, I'm glad you like the topics. The best is yet to come :
  14. Like OMG, yeah! We can like go to the mall and get our nails done! *cough* Seriously though, it would an interesting experience. o_O That's exactly what I mean. If you still had your memory from when you lived as guy, would you still be interested in getting your nails done and dressing up all feminine? I honestly don't know, that's a good question: If an evil genie turned you into a girl, would you.. A) try to live life as a guy would, for the most ignoring your physical gender, or... B) Just give in, say "oh what the heck, might as well fit the part" and live the rest of your life as a girl... :-k
  15. I think it would be interesting to be turned into a female. I'm not gay and this isn't in anyway sexual or anything. I'm just saying, you only have one life and I already know what a guy's life is like, I'm quite curious as to what a girl's life would be like. All humans should be given two lives, one as each sex :?
  16. I draw Cups. Satisfaction. Ha, nice question. I meant to do a one card drew, but I drew two by accident. 11 of Cups and 11 of Swords. One yes and one no, both of equal power. On reflection though, you actually asked me two questions... "is he just acting stupid" and "is he evil". It appears that you were correct about the fact that he is just acting stupid... Don't worry though, you were wrong on the second part, he is not evil. But still... he is only acting stupid.... but why? :-k Tarot is not made to answer the present, and as I am typing this your question is actually relating to the past. Tarot cannot find an answer to such a question :? Hate to be generic, but could I use this exact same question? You're reading was a hard one. I drew a joker when I asked "how will he come to his relationship", so I'm afraid I can't answer that question for you. When I asked how long it will take I, sadly, drew Coins, which when dealing with time indicates "quite a long ways off". Confused as to why this was the case, I asked why would it take so long for you to find love. To this I drew a mixed Sword and Cups hand. Hmm, my guess is your not really in the right mind set to find the girl you seek. Perhaps your attitude is too negative, either as a whole, or to the type of girl that you subconsciously desire. One card draw provided a low Cups. In one card draw, Cups means "Yes, exactly how you expected". However be advised, two cards fell out as I was shuffling, the 11 of clubs and the 9 of swords fell out. Both cards are more negative than Cups, and the Cups you received was only a 2, so you walk a fine line my friend. I will get to everyone, I am going in order from whoever posted first. I will do another 10 or so tonight, the rest I will get on Saturday
  17. First draw tell me that you will encounter some pretty bad conflicts early on, once these pass more troubles will try to enter but they will be blocked somehow. Either you don't let them bother you or you learn to cope with them very easily. After you learn this in your life, the next card is a Ace of swords, meaning you will then live with very, very few problems. After that a two of cups enters the scene. The two of cups often stands for a couple, so it is safe to assume that this means love will enter your life at this point. There was no cards of coins so I know nothing about your future finances, that part of your life is still very much unknown. 1) I draw coins and clubs. So in short, yes it will. However the clubs (conflict) was a higher number than the cups (love). So be on the lookout and try to not get into to many fights with her in the coming months. 2) Tarot is not meant to answer specific questions. I did to a draw and received a 9 of Swords followed by a King of Cups though. This would seem to indicate that at first you will dislike the job, perhaps it is not the one you had in mind. However the King of Cups is the "best" card in the deck, representing extreme love or happiness. So I guess in the end you will end up really, really liking that job :D 3) I wasn't sure if I should allow 3 questions, but I drew anyone. Creepily enouph I drew a Joker. As I said before, a Joker ends the reading... Hmm... I guess the Tarot doesn't want me to do 3 questions either, Lol. At first college will be quite poor, I only drew a 2 of coins. This may mean the obvious lack of money a college student faces, or it may mean poor quality. However, soon after the Queen of Cups arises. This seems to say you will meet a lover, it also says that it will have some negative side affects, and I'm guessing that would be the loss of much free time. The next card was the 6 of coins though, saying that after you and the lover have met, you will get "richer". You can define that word as you deem fit here. I'm surprised I was able to answer this question, but I think what I drew makes sense. First to appear was the Jack and Queen of Clubs. No doubt a large conflict is on your horizon. As I picked up those two cards the 7 of Swords came out with them, Swords meaning negative things I was worried but realized it made sense, this conflict isn't a happy one. I then used the swords card to pick up a random card, the six of cups, love. So in short, you will meet her in a bad conflict, somehow the negative aftermath of this argument will lead you to her. As for when, I asked the deck this, stating that I will interpret Clubs as imminent, Cups are fairly soon, Swords as a while away, and Coins as far, far away. I drew a Sword and Cup at the same time. Thus, you will meet her in a time thats you consider "fairly soon" but not quite "a while away.". So in other words, it will take as long as you probably were guessing. 1) Holy... wow. Too bad you didn't ask "how will my life turn out". This is a fantastically positive reading. Remember Coins=money, Cups=love. I drew the following: 11 of Coins, 5 of Cups, 9 of Cups, 7 of Cups, 7 of Coins, and ace of clubs. Jeez, that means lots of money, followed by happiness, happiness, even higher happiness, more money, and all with essentailly no conflict what-so-ever. Looking good man! :D 2) Well, you certainly can't win them all can you? I drew the 7 of swords, and the the upside down king of swords. Upside down usually means "in a different way". So the season will start out pretty bad and then, sadly, get worse but not in the way you are probably thinking. You will have team unity though, since the Ace of clubs (once again representing no conflict) was the 3rd and final card of the draw
  18. :| Well, there's a lot of questions lined up, I'm going to shorten my responses and just tell you the final outcome, rather than the entire process. 1) I drew a negative response, sorry Tigra Well, try and prove me wrong! : 2) I drew the 12 of swords... but than the joker. The Joker signifies the end of the reading, for I cannot draw any more cards after the joker is drawn. I cannot answer that question, my apologies. Wow, unlucky reading you had there. Well, I'm off to work. I'll be back in four hours and should be able to answer a good 10-15 questions then.
  19. Yes or no questions are easy. It's a one card draw. Metals (coins or swords) mean yes, while cups and clubs means no. You can see either answer has a "positive" side and a negative side, so in realty you can have four answers. Coins - NO, but it's not a terrible bad no Swords - NO, and it's as bad as you feared. Cups - YES, and in a positive way. Clubs - YES, but not in the way that you would have hoped -notice, this system only applies to one card draw, yes or no questions Your card = Six of Coins. Analysis: No, you won't reach that goal. :? However, it was a Cups so it's not that horrific, and it is a low number so it is close to being reversed. So perhaps with your current mindset you won't make the goal, but with a really minor change or two, you can achieve it : One card draw... Your card = Two of Coins. Analysis: :| Well, on the surface, the answer is no, she doesn't like you in the way you are hoping. However, as I said to Victor, a low number can be changed. This is especially true since you have a measly 2. Oh, and Coins are the suit for happiness though, so maybe that might have influenced the draw a little bit. In an case, don't give up hope :) Ah yes, the broad reading... this one is a bit harder to do. I keep shuffling the deck in my hands while asking your question. Randomly if I feel a card in particular I take it out on the deck and place it on the table. I do this until I have at least three suits. -Your reading started out with a lot of Cups. First an Ace of Cups, but that was immediately shadowed by an upside down seven of Cups. Following later was yet another upside down Cups, a four. -Next to appear were Clubs, you got a 5 of that card. -Finally came the Coins. You got a Jack, which usually represents "new, unexpected approach" So, it would seem that your summer will start out with a minor love (probably not a "person love", I'm thinking like a hobby), anyway this minor 'love' will immediately get overshadowed by a new interest, one that is fairly strong. This new one will be something you're not used to, for the card is upside down. However, yet another 'love' will enter (which is why in your case, I'm assuming love means hobbies). This third love will enter much like the 2nd, but this one won't be as strong. Next up is conflict caused by the clubs, it is one of average size so I wouldn't worry too much about it. And finally there is the coins, the Jack seems to say that you will come across a new form of wealth you had not previously thought of, or perhaps you will suddenly obtain some money, but it will be in a weird and unexpected way. So in short, you will see quite a few new hobbies pass you by this summer, and be aware for a sizable conflict to commence in the last bit of summer. Fear not though, in the last days you will find some wierd new wealth \ Right, that's enough for now. It seems you will be posting faster than I can reply. I assure you I will eventually get to everyone who posts before the 16th, although it will probably take me until the 18th to do so, so be patient. Anyway it's late and the both I and the Cards are tired, they are not used to being used is such quick succession like this
  20. June 14th, 2007 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Trapical does Tarot! Day 8 The Tarot accepts no more questions! Original post is below, see post on page four for details Hey everyone, today is sort of like the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  21. First off, BTTF man, don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t loose hope. Once you leave HS it does get a lot easier, this is a fact :) Father_Time89, I am going to have to disagree with you on that one. Sure, I can be loveless and still have the time of my life with my buddies out on a boat. Yet this does not mean love is not needed in life. Saying that would be like saying humans do not need legs since you can be perfectly happy just sitting down playing GTA for hours on end, oh and as long as you have a wheelchair and arms you can live life just fine, right? I may sound like a hypocrite, saying one needs love when I myself have never actually been in a formal relationship. Yet I think this has widened my eyes a bit. Those who have dated on and off with relationships that lacked true love will push the concept of love aside, while me as an observer can see the couples that really are in love, and grow extremely envious of them. In addition to these observations of others, the love I have experienced (see Day 2), while being awkward, has also helped define love for me. Let me explain: Like any other college student studying was not exactly a fun thing to do, and most people certainly don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t look forward to it. But the girl I was infatuated with studied in the library for 8 hours every day before a big test. I learned of this and since we were in the same classes we began to study together before every major test. These 8 hours, every 3 weeks, became the highlight of my semesters. We would sit together in a quiet study room, just the two of us, sharing a footrest in-between two couches. There was no flirting, no kissing, no sex. Just silent studying, and once an hour or so one of us would ask the other a question out loud, but afterwards we went back reading our notes. As the semester wore on I looked forward to these night more and more. Soon the words from a professor̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s mouth ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWe will have a test next week̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  22. Wait, what if I become a master thief... and use for for humanitarianism things. Would that be a bad deed still? :-s Ha, in all truth though, I am a pretty honesty guy. Most people with my supplies, experience, and know how would be a pretty potent criminal, but personally I haven't stole a penny with it. : Hmm... :-k *pulls out "list of things I can do if I don't get into Med School"* *adds "talk show host"* Thanks Kayla, new idea!
  23. I actually own one already. The Triexel galaxy is located near Ursa minor, and I have the coordinates if anyone wants it. I'm not going to tell you how I pulled off this feat... nope *slips a piece of paper on Krum's desk* *walks away whistling* :-w
  24. June 13th, 2007 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ About Love. Day 7 The Lion King̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Can You Feel the Love Tonight is a masterpiece. Most of us are too old to realize the political impact this film had when it came out (you would have to be like 30 right now). In one of my globalization classes we watched a news report from 1994, a month after the movie came out. While most of us were like 7 and simply enjoyed the lions, this film was translated to nearly 50 languages and distributed around the world. It had a profound social-cultural impact on many parts of the world, especially in Asia. The most interesting part I recall was a clip of several weddings around the world, ranging from France, to Korea, to Pakistan. The couples that had just been married were dancing to this song. Indeed there is something powerful about the song, and the theme of love itself. At a wedding I was working at last weekend, this song was played. In the middle of the song I looked over and saw the couple kissing, and then I could think of nothing else but the girl I mentioned in Day 2. I felt more than sadness and couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t focus on my job until the song had ended. What is it about love that can make a man weak at the knees? What else has the power to compel a man to say ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅKill me instead̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  25. They used DDT to temporarily kill all the mosquitoes. No mosquitoes = no Malaria. But in the ultimate example of hypocrisy, afterwards those same counties refused to give DDT to African countries since they "didn't know if it caused cancer" and also said that "it can harm local wild-life". The politics behind it are just as bad as the disease itself
