  1. Air runes are like 10-15gp each now, Body runes are about 10gp each more or less, and the same for Waters and Earths. Most people like to buy in bulks of 1,000+ though, so good luck...
  2. I think I remember seeing a topic about this a long time ago, but does anyone have a current updated rare-item count for how many discotinued items are left in the game? For instance, how many Green h'ween masks, Santa hats, Easter eggs, etc. there are in the game as of June 2006? Just curious! Thanks,
  3. Yes, Varrock is probably closest to a bank, but the Dranyor-Lumbridge woods have more Yew trees I think (not much more) and there's less people.
  4. Try using the Search option in this Help & Advice forum to search for efficient ways to make money. I'd have to say about 85% of the topics on this forum have something to do with making money and merchanting. Good luck! :D
  5. OMG you rock dude how are you doing that? I call shinanigans. The upper right hand corner says value earth runes, but your mouse in on the pumpkins. Devious I say. Haha... harsh man, harsh. Nevertheless, good catch though. I fixed it though, check it again. :)
  6. Because that wouldn't permanently fix the problem; they could just log back in later.
  7. How nice would it be to have a discontinued item or two in there? You never know, it's possible... That would kill me to not know what I have in my bank after coming back to the game 4 months later. :o
  8. Here's another one I made just for the fun of it. Wouldn't this be something to see? By the way, I spy something green, too... P.S. Had to make it a .jpeg so the size would be right. Sorry for the poor quality.
  9. Yes, Xp3nsiv's F2P-pure guide is extremely helpful. I've been using that to create the pure that I made several days ago. In regards to your question, I can tell you the reason you're unsuccessful with melee even at 41 Strength looking at Xp3nsiv's guide: Therefore, since your combat level is 30, Magic is really the only way to go.
  10. There was a thread made a long time ago that gave a little walkthrough of how new members should get started with quests and skills and what-not. It was a really well-written guide and you could tell they had given it plenty of thought. The only problem is I forgot what happened to it. It obviously wasn't pinned, but maybe someone has the link to it if it still exists.
  11. Out of those 4 stats given, I would work on Fishing so that you can have some food for combat training. You could either keep the food for training or sell it for some cash.
  12. This is just an educated guess, but I would assume that since they're all labeled as 'Members Item' on a F2P server, they would all have the same value. Although there's no way I could test this because I'm not a member, but I bet someone else would be able to clear this up.
  13. Try Coal and Steel bars. Those two seem to be pretty stable right now.
  14. Heh, yeah pretty much. Firemaking will only result in losing money because it's not like you can sell a fire.
  15. It depends in major ways if you're a member or a non-member. For members, you can either hang out in Catherby and fish Lobsters and bank them because there's a bank about 10 seconds away. You could also try the Fishing Guild, but I don't know how close that is to a bank. I think the nearest bank is in Seers Village, and that's still pretty far. For non-members, the best way to go is luring Salmon and Trout with Feathers. Salmon give 70 EXP and Trout give 50 EXP per catch plus they come really fast at level 71. The best place to go for this would be the Barbarian Village, and if you want to keep them you could just run over to Varrock's west bank. I've been fishing Salmon and Trout to get my Fishing levels up since I was about 50 and I'm 72 now.
  16. Well, it seems for me I make 75,000 per hour with making Air runes and I'm level 51 Runecrafting. I usually go through about 1,000 Rune essence in a hour, so that's 5,000 Air runes (because I make 5 Air runes per essence). 5,000 Air runes will normally sell for 75,000 at 15gp each because it's getting harder to find people who will buy 20gp each for Airs. This is a pretty decent way of making money, but I wouldn't say it's the best F2P method. I don't see how on earth you can make 200k per hour unless you're around level 70 Runecrafting.
  17. I personally like Character B's chances of being successful in members. You'll have a lot more options opened up to you with diverse skill levels like Character B has as far as money-making goes and overall enjoyment.
  18. Oh, well I hardly buy anything nowdays in the game. Most of the purchasing I do is on these forums.
  19. Are you speaking in terms of hiring runners or doing it all yourself?
  20. Eh, you'd be surprised. People still buy Rune essence for 20-30gp each, but they usually buy in large quantities.
  21. So when you hand them the noted essence, they head back and turn it into regular Rune essence and come back and give it to you to make the Air runes? Do you pay them per essence or per trip or what?
  22. Well, as you've probably guessed it depends on the skill. But I think if you were to get all your non-combat skills to around 50 you'd make the high-scores. With combat skills, however, you'd probably need to get it to about 60 since those skills are most commonly used. This is just a guess, by the way. I'm not sure exactly.
  23. I think the best way to start off is Woodcutting. Once you have the ability to cut Willow trees, cut them until you get a decent amount of Willow logs and sell them at 30gp each. It really doesn't take that long to cut Willows (especially with an Adamant or Rune axe), and once you get 1,000 that's 30k cash.
  24. I've heard this term used several times before and I sort of have an idea of what it's about, but what exactly does it involve? What's it all about? Is it basically hiring someone to run to the Air rune alter to make the runes for you just for experience while you get the runes? How much do people normally pay these runners to make runes for them?
