Favorite and Least Favorite Skills?
Sephiroth576 replied to biggy08755's topic in General Discussion
My two favorites would have to be Woodcutting and Smithing since I use those skills to make a majority of my money. My least favorites would have to be Firemaking and Runecrafting because they can become very tedious and annoying to raise. -
Yeah, Photobucket seems to work the best for me as well. That's what I've always used. You can pretty much use it for anything (avatars, signatures, or just picture posts in general).

Do the effects from Agility stay if you quit p2p?
Sephiroth576 replied to GulfKid's topic in Help and Advice
But you won't be able to use any of the short-cuts in the F2P servers. -
No, P2P items become completely useless in a F2P server. All P2P items in a F2P server will just be marked 'Members item' and the only thing you can do is drop them.

The price check link on that topic doesn't seem to work for me. It says the topic doesn't exist. Anyone else get this message?

I think the most common place to encounter Leo the Undertaker for the Zombie equipment is in the Ice Cavern near Port Sarim. In just one week of training on the Ice Giants down there and burrying their Big bones I was able to acquire the full Zombie outfit and both emotes. By the way, you'll love Zombie Dance.

Smithing Steel bars is going to be the fastest and most efficient way, even if it doesn't seem like it. What I do is I'll buy large amounts of Coal (2,000-4,000) for 200gp each and then mine the Iron ore myself. Mining the Iron yourself will save you money, plus you get some good Mining EXP in the process. Smith the Steel bars and you can either sell them for 600gp each or make Steel platebodies out of them and high alch them for 1,200gp each.

Coal, Runes, Steel bars, Lobsters, and once you get pretty good you can go for rune weapons and armor.
-
Yeah, try using the Search tool on the forums to find what you need. I'm sure you'll find many helpful topics on all sorts of merchanting techniques. I can come up with two fairly decent methods off the top of my head, and that's merchanting Steel bars and Lobsters.

The best place for F2P players is the swamp mines south of Draynor and Lumbridge. Here you can mine coal and there are 6 mithril rocks and 2 adamantite rocks if I remember correctly. The only problem is that it's quite a ways from the nearest bank (Draynor).

Try smithing Steel bars. That seems to be a pretty stable money-maker right now. Buy coal 200gp each then mine the Iron ore you need and smith the Steel bars and sell 550-600gp each.

I guess we'll find out on Saturday...

Depends on if you plan on keeping the Iron ore. If you're just power-mining for the fastest EXP and you couldn't care less about Iron ore, head to the mining pit next to Rimmington if you're F2P. Not many people are over there, and if they are they're usually mining the 2 gold rocks or the Copper & Tin. If you plan on banking the ore, the Dwarven Mines are probably your best bet. Just be aware that it'll be the most crowded place to mine Iron.

Alright, thanks for the tips. Do you think I should go out strictly as a melee attacker or a mage?

Check the RuneScape.com forums under the Treasure Trails board and search up how much a Rune Plateskirt (t) is nowdays. They're pretty cheap, I can assure you.

Lately I've been getting a lot of offers from PKing clans about joining and I've been considering if I should join a nice F2P clan because I've been told my stats are pretty acceptable. The thing is, I know practically nothing about PKing. I'm a F2P player, so that should make things pretty simple, but I still don't know much about strategies, equipment to bring, or even if I should be melee, range, or mage. If it helps to know my stats, I'll post my combat stats: Attack: 80 Strength: 80 Defence: 80 Hitpoints: 80 Magic: 68 Range 69 Prayer: 52 COMBAT LVL: 98 I'm basically asking for any advice and tips that any of you have to PKing with a clan, or just PKing in general. Do you think I would have fun with the stats I have? Thanks,

How long do you think Runscape will last?
Sephiroth576 replied to l0rd's topic in General Discussion
I say it'll last until the day that you have to pay in order to play. At that point, JAGeX will lose a lot of their players because they either don't want to pay, or they just can't. With as many new updates as they're having, eventually JAGeX will want more money to continue with more complex updates. This, in turn, will cause them to either charge more than $5.00 a month, or charge everyone. Not saying that this will happen any time soon, but that's how I predict RuneScape will lose popularity. -
Well, the first time I ever bought a rare (it was a Green h'ween mask) I went on the Regicide quest and died in all the booby-traps. Although this was about a year ago and the Green h'ween mask was like 2.5 mil, it took me several weeks to get over that loss. I pretty much went bankrupt for the next two months. I'll never buy rares again...

Good luck being able to sell Yew logs for 300gp now days. If I were you, I'd stay away from Woodcutting for right now and go with smelting Steel Bars or merchanting and/or fishing Lobsters like the guy above me mentioned.

Hahaha, mating season... clever. lol

OMG Rares, an explanation not be heeded
Sephiroth576 replied to primadog's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, this is exactly the reason why I don't even bother with rares anymore. They're always on the rise, and even when they stabilize for a few weeks the prices are just outrageous. I guess I'm just more interested in spending my money on raising skills rather than looking filthy rich. -
The new beer random! lmao irl! You made me spit my gum at my keyboard, and I had a good bubble going there! I can see it now... a bottle of beer pops out of no where and shoots you with beer glasses (a ranged attack) until you kill it, and is a lot stronger then normal randoms (hence the lvl 570). If you die to it, and you blackout then come back in lumby with no stuff and all your stats 1/(whatever they normally are) Seeing as what Jagex is doing to their game these days, it might happen. Haha, let's just hope they don't see that picture and get any ideas...

Here's one that I made the other day out of sheer boredom...

It would really help to know your Woodcutting and Runecrafting levels, but if you're especially good at those skills I would recommend cutting Willow logs and selling them 50-70gp each in bulks. As for Runecrafting, just make a bunch of Air runes and see if you can sell them 15-20gp each.
-
That all depends on how often you play and how determined you are to get there. I've been playing RS since the end of 2002 and I've just hit 98 combat. I didn't start really playing the game until 2003-04.
