  1. If all you are going to do is play runescape, listen to music, download large files and you want your laptop to be cheap, then heck, why not get celeron with 512 MB DDR RAM and a geforce2 series video card? (For example), even my moms P3 celeron running at 1.1 GHZ with integrated video and 256 mb SDRAM does the tasks you've listed fairly well. (It runs windows XP with all the extra crap like themes enabled) :| It's impossible to get one of these new anymore though, so you will have to get refurbished (Or most likely used and not refurbished) if you want this type of a computer.
  2. "Refurbished" is not what I would ever want to buy if I'm buying computer related stuff, because there might have been a problem with it before, but then again, someone might have returned it for a different reason than that.
  3. I'm in the picture, yay. That's a lot of processes running at the same time by the way, I only have 16 of them running, that is including the firewall.
  4. I don't think pirates care about the reduce in prices on music.
  5. Dutch weren't the ones who invented slavery, and it didn't start with Africans. The word itself comes from Slavic, (Slav - Slave), you get the point, and slavery started before the common era, not 300 years ago.
  6. What's ironic, is that he was trying to get them rid of "devil" inside them. :XD: Although I highly doubt devil and hell even exist. \personal_opinion
  7. After watching a lot of ogrish pictures and videos, stuff like 2 girls 1 cup and this don't gross me out anymore, sorry, although what the parents did was inhumane.
  8. Judging by the fact you are/were a member... Exactly. But really, how do people profit from this? other than in-game profits, can they even? What do you mean? How can they profit from stealing items? They can sell them on eBay and other sites like that (mostly other sites, eBay is bad for selling in-game items).
  9. Switch to a more user friendly distro, like ubuntu, or google for the tutorial. LOL at the "text typing thingie"
  10. Judging by the fact you are/were a member...
  11. Norm modem. Btw, i'm noob at these things  If you don't have a router, then it's not likely that somebody else is using your net. Your ISP is probably having troubles at the moment, but then again ping to the Turku server is only 65ms... Does the lag fluctuate or it's constantly laggy? In either case, call your ISP and ask what's up with the internet. Way to spam.
  12. Do you have a CD-ROM/RW or DVD-ROM/RW, and what type of disks are you trying to play, CD or DVD?
  13. Do you have a router at home, or is it a normal modem for 1 computer?
  14. A virus scan shouldn't effect the internet connection speed... Don't worry about it, most people who post here have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.
  15. Sometimes projects get buggy, that's why you need to make multiple backup copies of your work in 3ds max. Happened to me before. By the way this isn't the right forum to ask these kind of questions, going to the 3ds max based forum would be much better.
  16. Does it have Java, and is it enabled in the browser?
  17. Probably RAM fault, I've had this error before when I was messing around with RAM timings and speeds. Download memtest86+ http://www.memtest.org/, run it and tell us if it gives you any errors.
  18. I'm thinking so. It was tragic then, tragic now. A repost? Someone has posted this before? Umm I think it was actually about some guy slapping some girls on the arse. They saw no offence in it but he got a 2 day suspension. One idiot slapped some girls [wagon] in my school and got expelled.
  19. I don't understand why everyone measures strength in how much they can bench press :/ I can do 1 arm pull ups, 210+ pounds on the peck fly machine, full range handstand push ups, muscle ups, but I can only bench press 135, but that doesn't mean mean I'm weak, does it? I'm 140 pounds, 6'1. (I wasn't trying to act e-cool, it just baffles me why people think those who can bench press more are stronger.) I could do 30 pull ups when I was in 5th grade. Doesn't mean I was strong (and for that matter, you're mentioning that you can do things, not how many reps you can do. Most guys can do that stuff a couple times, so just saying you can do it doesn't set a bar). I can bench about 130. I would consider myself weak, muscle-wise anyways. Sure, it's not the only measure, but for a universal upper body measurement bench press isn't too bad. And honestly, if you weigh less than me at 6'1" (me being 5'7"), you're probably a little more on the thin than the muscle side. [/please do not continue weight-training tangent ya'll] Yeah, I have pretty much no fat, but I don't mind that, and honestly, "Most guys can do that stuff a couple times" ? That's an awesome place you live in, since most people can barely do a couple of normal pullups (not the ones that are training biceps, or w/e, the harder ones. )where I live, not to mention handstand pushups and muscle ups.
  20. "C'mon a stupid hood ???" "C'mon a stupid party hat ???" "C'mon a stupid santa ???" "C'mon a stupid mask ???" If they've had a hood instead of the santa hat as a rare, and for (let's suppose) Christmas you'd get a santa I bet you would complain about how stupid santas are. I know that because people talked about how stupid and useless santas are, before they've jumped to 20M. Now they are cool all the sudden.
  21. Your computer is fine, I remember playing on Celeron 1.7 Ghz, 256 mb ram and everything ran smoothly. Now I have an Intel Celeron D 330 (2.66 Ghz) over clocked to 3.6 Ghz and 1.5gb ram, runescape runs the same. Edit: OS: Windows XP

As for the diet, I can't recommend what you should eat for breakfast, etc, but I suggest you don't eat fast food, don't eat after 6 Pm and if you want to eat a "snack", get an apple. Running in the morning on an empty stomach helps you lose a lot of weight by the way.
  23. Basically I need a newer video card. Here are my specs: Processor: Intel Celeron D 330, 2.66 GHz, 533 FSB, 256Kb; overclocked to 3.4 GHz, 680 FSB. RAM: 1 Stick 1024MB, another stick 512 MB DDR, pc3200 working at 212 Mhz instead of 170 Mhz original. (My motherboard supports up to PC2700 but recognizes PC3200) Motherboard: 8pe800 rs, Revision 2.0 Current video card: ATI Radeon 9600XT, 128MB RAM, 500/324. (Not overclocked, source engine doesn't like video card overclocking) AGP slot: 8x I'm not looking for ultra performance because I know I'm not going to get it with the Celeron and AGP, I'm looking for something to replace my current video card, while making sure it's not going to be too fast, since I know if I'm going to pick something like this, my cpu will be bottlenecked. Video card that's something like this or XFX NVidia GeForce 6800 GS 256mb is preferred, except 512 MB instead of 256 MB (if possible) As well as the card recommendation, please include how much of an FPS boost I should expect and on which games. P.S Buying a new system isn't an option, I know I'm delaying the inevitable but for as long as I don't work, I'm not getting anything big, especially a whole new system. Thanks in advance, now time to sleep.
  24. Too old for that stuff :/
