I am saying that life is not like runescape you cannot just buy a santa hat and then live life after that, it is that it involves a great risk, and even with all the knowledge in the world you can fail. If i remember correctly you said that a degree was worthless and that's it. Just because you choose to live your life that way does not make it correct and that everyone is an idiot for not seeing it your way. You call it slave to work, but my dad has been in his job for God knows how long now, and he loves it, a Finance Director and he enjoys going to work. He earns a good amount of money and you know what? He got 2 degrees, and they helped him get a job with a very high starting pay. He is not living a life of slavery if he earns plentiful money and enjoys doing so. Just because it is not the path for you does not mean that everyone else who does that is stupid.

Don't tell me how fast I can read. I mainly read the parts that did not relate directly to runescape, and skimmed over anything that said an item in runescape. My point to that was yes I worked for it and still got results better than other people. I didn't make nats day in day out, that was the point of my damn post. I can work and still get the results in a short space of time, compared to people who just slave at certain things and get nowhere. Like I said, you said nothing about your background, your work and you are making bold statements telling everyone a degree is a waste of time when you clearly said to me that it is a good back up plan so how is that worthless? Investing money in a back-up plan is not worthless if you have the capacity to earn the money you put into it, back. You say life is not about money, yet you seem to plan your life around it? This makes no sense to me.

I read the most part of it, which is more than can be said of you and reading my posts. Again posting a topic about how to make money in runescape is nothing to what I asked you to prove. Anyone can make money in runescape, hell when I played I owned a purple and 5 santas, and you know how I got that? Fletching. Cutting wood, making bowstrings, making nats and alching. I am saying you are foolish to go into a big risk investment with no damn back-up plan. Simple enough.

Well if that's what you read, you are obviously not reading it correctly. Well based on the fact you have demonstrated no knowledge in the field, how else am I supposed to judge your decision. All you have said is you wish to put money into a business, yet you haven't mentioned anything else about the business, only that other people are stupid to get a degree, when you agree yourself that a degree is good to have as a back-up plan. Which is a contradiction in itself. Demonstrate knowledge to me and I will take you seriously. You are willing to risk everything with no back-up plan. Nah it symbolizes the change from a kid to a young adult. It's usually around this time. Just because it is manmade does not mean it means nothing. And I hate to inform you of this but....you don't live in the UK. Bah there is no set age when you turn from a kid to a young adult. There is adolescence, where you are not an adult, yet not a child, so your role in society is somewhat unclear. A young adult would probably be defined in UK standards as turning 18, seeing as that is the last age restriction. Turning from a kid into an adult is defined in some cultures by a rite of passage, but unless you are Jewish or from some remote country with unusual rituals, there is no such thing in Western culture. So yeah, the term scientifically is, you are now entering adolescence. Psychology boff ftw.

Yes, I agree its a great back up plan, but many people want it to be The Plan for my life. Those who never risk don't get anywhere in life. ~Defender~ Of course you risk certain things, but there is high risk and low risk, you can risk a lot and potentially lose a lot or risk a little and lose only a little. Fortune favours the brave, but there becomes a point where the brave can be naive, but like I said like twice before if you read my damn posts is that the stock market is not a CERTAINTY. You cannot just become a insta-millionaire without crazy knowledge about it, and even with all the knowledge about it in the world it is still not certain that you will play and win. There are millions of people who have lost their lives to it, becoming bankrupt, and without a degree it becomes much harder to get back on your feet. In my opinion if this is what you want to do, and seeing as you agree a degree is a good back-up plan, then go get the degree, play the stock market, pay off debt if you win, go get a job if you don't. Don't tell me a degree is worthless just because someone told you you have to get a degree then work, when you said yourself it is something to fall back on. But you know what, you just keep contradicting yourself, the so called-clearing up cleared nothing up as you still haven't answered many of my questions, and have no response to a lot of what I typed. Look at your arguements for saying you want a lot of money, then read your sig, or read the quote I posted previously. If you had read my posts properly you would be able to respond with a more informed reply. But do what you want seriously. There's no point arguing with you when you cannot make up your mind what is important and what isn't. I think you still fail to realise the stock market can fail, and that you are not guaranteed anything, which is why the smart person would have a degree for back up if plan A fails. I said why working + college is not a waste of time if you read that properly. As it isn't, and if you read the part before that I wrote about the stock market, you will understand why I am saying your choice of job is potentially flawed, and why getting a degree is not as worthless as you think. EDIT: A degree and further education is a great back-up plan if your stocks fail and you end up out of pocket. It is something to fall back on, and can achieve a reliable income that you can depend on.

That I don't think you understand, the stock market isn't a guaranteed win every time. You need such a good understanding of the ways it works, it is not a surefire fix. Then once you make that 3k, you are hardly going to just let it sit there, you have bills to pay and still need to make more money. So then you invest that money back into a business which could possibly fail and leaving you with not much of a lump sum that will tide you through your life. Another thing with the stock market is, people become too greedy. One of my dad's friends is a big player in the stock market, he's been at it for God knows how many years, but he can't stop. One million isn't enough when he knows he could invest it and possibly win more back. Human nature is to be dissatisfied with what you have and to want more, and it is an easy thing to try and get more when it comes to the stock market. A degree is a sure fire way to earn money on a regular basis, your salary will always pay you every year, there is less risk involved and you can get a high paying job that will definately bring in the money every year. Also I'm very confused as you seem to contradict yourself, saying that you don't need money and a job, yet you want cash and to play the stock market.

I know you can't get anywhere WITHOUT a job, i'm using the money I make now to invest in businesses. I'm basically trying to do what your friend is doing, retiring, then use all the money I earned for education as a hobby. Why? And I go to college/university and work at the same time, it's not a waste of time. For one, university is the experience of a lifetime, two I get some honest work in to earn my way through so that I can experience trying to afford my own upkeep and manage my finances. It keeps me focussed and not sit on my bum all day, and meeting new people, learning new skills, I love it. It doesn't get it my way, I have so far gained all first class honours in my exams, and run my own business with friends which also generates income. Unless you have a superior knowledge of the stock market, I wish you luck.

Ok then, do you mind me asking what you work as? Enjoying life without money these days is a difficult thing to do. I want a house, be able to afford to buy or pay a mortgage on that house, feed myself, bring up a family, clothe them, take them to places they will enjoy, I want to not worry about paying bills, not worry about turning on the heating (due to gas bill), run a car etc etc. I'm sorry but unless you live in a third world country, you are naive to think that you will get by easily with no job and no cash. How will you feel fulfillment in your life? A sense of accomplishment that everything you have you worked for and earnt it honestly? A million dollars will only last you a short time, it can only build a foundation. After taxes as well, you aren't looking at very much, especially as I know here in England a six figure sum pays income tax of around 40%. Zonorhc also has a very valid point. My friend was stock broker. Retired at 32. Now is enjoying life without work, and WITH money to do with whatever he wishes. He can go wherever he wants and do whatever he pleases. My friend has worked in employment for over 40 years and trust me a degree benefits you in so many ways. But hey believe what you want, just don't try and claim hear-say as facts, without evidence. In manual work, which is what I presume you are doing from a previous statement of yours, no, a degree bares no importance. But like I said, believe what you want, your choices in life have no impact on me. And in response to the question? $1000 is about ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã500 these days. Can't get me too much, just 2 months rent, and I'd still need a bit more. Or I'd invest it into a business me and my friends have set up. Either way nothing too exciting would happen with it.
