In your point of view, killing a skill=making it easy to level...or so it seems with cooking. Cooking was killed because of cook-x?...who cares if their are more people with 99 cooking...the skill itself is hardly profitable, as much as it can maybe just save you money. Theiving...how did pyramid plunder kill theiving...it gave the skill a better use in rs2...if anything, it's helped it. like many have said, skills dont die...they may suffer a beating, but they won't die....and in most of your examples, its things that have made the skill better
