I think the only thing that could save this show for another season would be have something really, really, really drastic happen at the end of this season. I think the only thing drastic enough would be Jack Bauer dying (for real). Of course, that would also kill the series. This season started off decently, and got better up through episode 17. 17 was completely awesome, but that should have been the end of the season. Instead they throw in a completely different plot line for the last 8 episodes. So yeah, I am pretty uninterested in how it ends, because I know it won't end very well, and they will just re-hash the same things over next season again. I still watch it though.
  2. You'll probably pass me this next round :D .
  3. From what source did you get that figure? To increase in population by well over 2 billion in less then 43 years would be unimaginable - in fact the term "going at it like rabbits" would be an understatement. 1970 - 4 billion 2007 - 6.7 billion EDIT: first three results on google as sources: http://www.ibiblio.org/lunarbin/worldpop http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_population http://www.census.gov/ipc/www/world.html
  4. I wouldn't dare to put that argument in an Algebra assignment :P Fight the odds and construct as many houses as possibly all around the map. Best way to earn something... If you construct everything on 1 or 2 streets you may never earn anything if the dice doesn't favor you and everybody just walks past. If you build 4 houses, 1 every 2nd street, then a person walking past 8 streets on the board has an approximately 50% chance of having to pay you. If you build a hotel which earns you more but comes in a low quantity (1), a person walking past 4 streets has a 25% chance of having to pay you something. Therefore building hotels is just a piece of entertainment in Monopoly, not to be taken as a real way to win the game (unless you can build lots of hotels which you probably can't). Try working on that if you can make it to 1-3 pages... Well that makes sense, but I don't think it answers this particular question. The question is having four houses on one property vs. having a hotel on one property. It doesn't make sense to me, since a hotel would be better.
  5. A business. Most cults are basically for the money, but not all of them. Some cults just have f'ed up leaders. Scientology definitely fits under the classification as a business, selling righteousness to those who can afford it.
  6. Hotels are always better than 4 houses. Hotels are really just 5 houses, but if you land on the community chest or chance and get a "repair costs" card, a hotel costs less than 4 houses, so you are better off that way.
  7. 7. Swiss Family Robinson. Taking crazy guesses because I have too to stay in the game :P .
  8. 28 Weeks Later - As I mentioned in the other topics, I really enjoyed it. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - Really could have been good. But it wasn't. Catch-22 - A great novel, tons of well known actors, and from the director of "The Graduate." Recipe for success right? Wrong. It wasn't very good at all. Might be OK if you have never read the book. Laberinto del fauno, El - Pan's Labyrinth is just as good the second time as it was the first time.

  14. I bet he was pissed off when he got home today, it's canned food collection day :D . My dad (also a mailman) took his vacation week this week specifically to miss that day.
  15. Forums were being janky, I could of had it posted a few minutes earlier :D .

  17. Why not use coupons? It saves money. Anyone read the article about the woman in Chicago who plays the coupon game so well that a weeks worth of groceries costs her $10 on average and sometimes can even be to the point where they give her money to take the food away?
  18. Am I the only one that caught the sarcasm here? No, I caught it too. Heh, I was really surprised MPC didn't catch it, he is a master at it :P .
  19. Shaky camera was overdone at times, and also there was a part where the lights were flickering that gave me a headache. My viewing experience was lessened somewhat by this old fat hag woman sitting behind me, who couldn't keep her mouth shut. I told her to I quote "Shut the fu** up", but that only seemed to make her do it more.
  20. I'll second this, it really surprised me how awesome it was.
  21. I don't agree with anything said so far in this topic, and I feel you are all stupid for bringing it up.
  22. Learn to read. Already disproved everything you said in this post.
  23. Yep, sure can. A lot of superheroes don't technically have super powers. EDIT:A list of them.
  24. So I Married an Axe Murderer - Pretty funny, a little eccentric story but I guess that is what makes it funny. The Gift - Just found out this was directed by Sam Raimi (Evil Dead and Spider-man trilogies). Not my type of movie, I guess it was OK. Psycho - I've seen it a good amount of times, I know what's going to happen, and it still freaks me the hell out. It's a classic, it's great, it's awesome. The draw back is I can't stop looking over my shoulder, and I have all the lights on in my room, because half the room being dark freaked me out. That is the kind of mood you get into while watching it and after.
  25. The built in spell-check in Firefox isn't really complete yet I don't think, it has a lot of words marked as wrong when they are in fact correct. Also checks capitalization, which is why "FireFox" is incorrect, it is just Firefox.
