Basically if you come into a topic about a movie/TV show after it first airs you should expect spoilers not in tags, and they shouldn't belong in tags at that point anymore. Spoiler tags should be used in regards to leaked info before some thing airs. The biggest place they are needed are for generic topics, such as the last movie you saw topic, that isn't about any particular movie. Spoilers should be used in those topics a decent amount of time after the movie comes out, sometimes forever after the movie comes out (bad example is rosebud from Citizen Kane since everyone already knows, but think about it as if not everyone knew). I can kind of, just barely, see your argument about spoilers in these sorts of movie topics. Really I am mostly complaining about TV show topics that people [bleep] in because they didn't watch the latest episode and came into the topic and started reading. There are generally only 7 days between episodes, and it is absolutely ridiculous to have to spoiler tags on every single post in a topic that is just discussing what the topic is about.

This is what I thought the ending would be, and tbh it would be an excellent ending. Throughout the movie Cobb discussed how dreams can become reality if you aren't careful. It would be really great if it turned out that the wife was right, and Cobb had been living the entire movie in a dream. The choppiness and lack of connectivity, even during the "real" scenes, made this prediction seem logical. It's worth noting that it was never stated whether it was or wasn't a dream. At the end, didn't he spin the top and it didn't show it stop spinning? And when he got home, his kids were sitting in the same place as before. It all seems sort of surreal. I'm hoping this was an intentional blurring of the lines and not a mistake on the part of Christopher Nolan. The entire point of the movie was the end where it didn't show the top topple, but did show it wobble as if it would topple had the scene continued. This gives it ambiguity, so you don't know whether or not it was all a dream. It's not a [bleep]ing mistake, it is the [bleep]ing main point of the movie.
  3. Scott Pilgrim is 23, so he is actually playing someone older than his age. That is, assuming they use the same age as Scott in the comics. Also hopeless but adorable is halfway right but halfway completely wrong, once again it would be best to read to understand.
  4. You really have to be in the right mood to watch Bergman's movies, it's kind of hard to explain. I was for Seventh Seal and Fanny och Alexander so I loved those, I wasn't for the 5 or 6 others of his I saw so I didn't enjoy them as much.
  5. VIdeo games aren't necessarily a waste of money, if you really enjoy them then it is most likely worth it. Games do go down in value a lot though, as well as the consoles or PC you use them on. So I'd suggest never, ever spending more than $20 on any game, and it will almost always be worth it, even if the game is short or not all that great. That's what I am doing right now, buying a [cabbage] ton of old games that I missed playing (currently on Baldur's Gate, bought the 4 game set for $14). Saving the money could also be a good idea, depends on how steady of an income you have. Things do get much more expensive when you get older, and if you don't save up enough then you may be stuck in your parents basement when you are 23... not that I know anything about that.
  6. Chocolate - I often "acquire" movies without actually buying the disc, but there can be headaches when doing that. For example with foreign language movies you have to worry about having the right audio and subtitles. Sometimes a movie will come dubbed, or sometimes native language but no English subtitles, or subtitles that aren't correct. So I go out of my way more often to actually but foreign language flicks since with the DVDs/blu-rays you know everything will be correct. That is, until this movie. First of all, it defaulted to the absolutely atrocious English dub audio with no subtitles. This is annoying, but not too big of a problem. Just switched it over to native Thai and good to go. Of course I don't speak Thai, so I need to turn on subtitles. Therein lies the problem with this blu-ray, they don't have English subtitles, all they have are English closed captions. They put it under the subtitle menu, but they are most definitely not subtitles. There is no way to get normal English subtitles on this disc, and that is just stupid. Yeah, that entire review had nothing to do with the movie at all. So I'll toss that in at the end: the movie was awesome. EDIT: After reading a review on amazon the subtitle problem is only applicable to the blu-ray disc, the DVD has normal English subs as well as the SDH subs.
  7. The comics were pretty good, but they get a lot more hype than I think is due. This film though is directed/written by Edgar Wright and has Mary Elizabeth Winstead in it, so it could possible be the movie with the greatest amount of win ever.
  8. Looks like her name is actually Dawn Sommers rather than Summers. Search for Dawn Sommers brings up her myspace page as the second link as far as I can tell.
  9. So I'm NOT the only one who thought it wasn't that great? Good. Haunting in Connecticut. It was alright. I wouldn't buy it or anything, though. Well Wanted really wasn't all that great. I highly enjoyed it though. EDIT: Oh and I haven't posted in a long while, mostly because I have hardly any time to watch anything anymore and most of that has been taken up by watching the entire Stargate franchise. I did however watch this last night: Clash of the Titans - The 2010 remake. Everyone said this was pretty horrible, but there are many times I like movies and I even realize they are horrible. This was not one of those times, this was just plain bad. I have no idea why it was so bad either. I can handle a movie with poor acting, or a poor story or even one that really has no point to it. For some reason this movie just could not keep my attention at all. About 20 minutes into it I went to the bathroom and didn't even bother pausing, then while I was in there I figured I might as well do some cleaning and just listen to the movie for a few minutes. I ended up cleaning for the entire rest of the movie because there was no incentive to actually pay attention to it.
  10. Making every post in OT like you do in FT (if that is like your OP here) could make OT interesting for a while. OT has been pretty [cabbage]ty lately, hardly any good topics to post in anymore.

That is the absolute best way to prepare to watch a movie: know nothing about it at all. 9 times out of 10 you will enjoy the movie much more. The only thing I knew about Inception was it was supposed to be weird and confusing (a little weird, not confusing though) and that it starred Leo and Ellen, and so the beginning part where we find out they are dreaming was all a surprise (well I got it before they woke up, but didn't know the movie was about dreaming until then). There have been some absolutely epic moments in movies that would have been spoiled for me had I watched any previews or read any reviews of movies, even previews/reviews that are supposed to be spoiler free.
  12. I actually wasn't all that impressed with it, and I enjoy pointless movies every now and then.
  13. If you haven't already, watch Desperado. It's the predecessor of Once Upon a Time, probably a lot better too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_da6o7CJNMc El Mariachi is good too (the first of the trilogy).
  14. Fanboys? ;) It actually was pretty good. Nowhere near 3rd greatest movie of all time, but good nonetheless.

I really enjoyed it. I had no idea what it was about before going to see it, which I believe is the best way to view movies. Trailers give away far too much.
  16. Inception - There is a reason it is number 3 on IMDb's list after only one weekend.
  17. Funny coincidence, I am finishing watching mine tonight for the second time through. Also I ordered my set on almost the exact same day two years ago (July 16th). EDIT: Also I paid around $116 apparently, $80 is a pretty good deal. Just make sure to check all the discs, there will probably be a few that are dirty and/or scratched. Some people have got completely unreadable discs, once I cleaned mine off I only had 5 or 6 that had skips in them, and the worst was just for a minute.
  18. Lynch is just... odd. I don't think Mulholland Dr. is his best, though there are some good qualities to it.
  19. Nausicaa was my favourite so far, although Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away were close. Not a huge fan of Howl's Moving Castle for some reason. Totoro was the fifth I was thinking of but haven't seen it yet. Definitely looking forward to Ponyo though.
  20. I think he has had quite a few more than 4, I can think of 5 off the top of my head before Ponyo. Unless some he has only directed or written rather than both.
  21. Deer Hunter is really long, but worth it.
  22. I loved The 400 Blows, though it is a movie I would probably only watch once.
  23. I'll sell you my Wii for cheap. Personally I can't get into any of the games on that console, I just hate the controls too much.
  24. I can't really argue with anything on the list. My list would be different of course (pretty vastly different), but that is really no argument for any of those to not be on the list. The only thing I could argue for are a few more classic games (tetris, dig dug ect...).
