  1. Cool, didn't know. Feedback, though? Is this understable/simple? Yeah it makes sense just fine. I'm probably not going to use it but it doesn't mean others won't. When I want to search a site I just type the site and keyword and then it does a google search, which gives me what I want anyways (for example I would just type "imdb iron man 2", and the IMDb page for Iron Man 2 would be the first google search result). If it gives lots of stuff I don't want then I type site:sitename then keyword and it does a google search of only that site. If it still doesn't find it then I might go to the site and search, but generally I just say screw it and find info elsewhere.
  2. Firefox also does this. Bookmark any search box, add a keyword, type keyword in address bar+space+search term.
  3. Yeah you shouldn't have too many problems playing a lot of games with that computer, that is basically what mine is. I would worry about the HDD before adding another video card though. Caviar greens are great from a storage/price ratio point of view, but I would never have it as the only HDD in a computer, they are just too slow. Get an SSD for your OS+main programs, then a caviar black or equivalent to install games on, and keep the caviar green for stuff that HDD speed doesn't matter on (music, movies, TV files). I'm going perfectly fine right now with a 40gig SSD and 320gig install drive for this computer. I save everything else on my media server and stream it here, over LAN there is no loss of quality or wait times. But yeah, if you do that you will get a noticeable speed increase. If this fixes your problem also then you know it was either a HDD or software issue (since you will have to reinstall windows). Though from what you described I'm not sure it is.
  4. XP, Vista or 7? Sometimes it can clash with Windows Defender and screw up if it wasn't able to shut it down properly on install, mostly only on XP. If your installiing an anti-virus you shuldnt have windows defender turned on... lol.

  6. Those are good links, thanks. I was curious how MSE rated vs other ones. I am going to continue to use it and install it on every computer I work on solely because it never bugs you to buy it.
  7. I personally wouldn't buy a DVD-ROM drive, DVD writers are so cheap nowadays I would spend the extra few pounds and get it. If that budget is strict then go ahead and get a smaller HDD. But yeah those parts look fine, I don't know the pounds-US dollar conversion though.

I can't wait for some sort of cornucopia technology to exist, for scarcity to not exist and we can finally live in some sort of meritocracy where there is no money, just people doing what they love to do, to the best of their ability.
  9. Yep. Just search for Microsoft Security Essentials and a link to it on Microsoft's website will be first.
  10. I'd actually like to know if MSE is less of a resource hog than AVG. I will still use MSE anyways, but I am curious. Right now my MSE is using 73mb of RAM. (64bit Win 7)
  11. You have to go into that movie expecting it to be bad, then you'll enjoy it.
  12. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World - So [bleep]ing awesome, I can't even describe.
  13. Overheating (dust, fan not working), bad PSU, bad motherboard, bad CPU, bad RAM. That's what I would go through, in that order.
  14. Kung Fu Hustle - I bought this and the next movie on blu-ray from newegg the other day when the set was $13. I have never seen either of them, and didn't have any idea what they were except from the title and a glance at the cover. So I was completely surprised by this movie, it was not was I was expecting at all. I did enjoy it, but I don't see myself watching it again. The One - This movie is not all that great, just ok for a mindless action movie.
  15. You can upgrade macs. That one isn't worth it though.
  16. My work computer takes around 8 minutes to boot up fully (don't want to click anything even at the desktop before all the programs start or you'll crash). It's crappy but not horrible, it just has a lot of programs it needs to start. I'm not sure what you are meaning here, every computer is pretty much on a network. In a work environment there might be certain programs that need to talk to servers and those would be affected by network speeds, but the general running of the computer makes no difference whether it is on a network or not.
  17. Have them use another DNS? 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 Google's, I use them all the time when I need a static DNS because they are easy to remember. EDIT: That would tell for sure if it is a problem with their DNS. If it is they can keep those DNS or they can just use the IP address of your website (sometimes, if your website is the only one on that IP...)
  18. I spent the last four months watching the entire Stargate franchise, then watching it all again with commentaries. I have been keeping up with SGU, just am a little tired of thinking about SG. But yeah, S2 has been normal Stargate style episodes, so I have been enjoying it.

I'm happy that crapware no longer exists. If you still want to get music that way people will have to use something that doesn't suck so much, like Frostwire ect... It's still a stupid way to share files though. Everything about torrents is better.
  20. You are correct. Each to his own I guess.... Lyndsy Fonseca from Nikita Image is broken. She is hot as hell in Kick-ass though, and looks good in How I Met Your Mother even though she gets around 20 seconds of screentime per episode.
  21. So you are the reason I have to rename underscores to spaces all the time...
  22. Damn, the 4850 is $99 now? That's what I have in my computer and it handles games just fine. I might have to look into picking up another and doing a crossfire thing...
  23. KotOR1>>>>>>>>>>>KotOR2. Gameplay is about the same in both, but 1's story was just epic...
  24. The more I think about it the more I think the interference will be too much. If you do it though let me know if it works  .
