If you want to play it well then a laptop will not work for you. If you are wanting this basically for Skyrim and video gaming in general over other stuff then processor and RAM isn't quite as important as the video card (but they are still important). Also if you could wait a few months until it gets closer to 11/11/11 then you are better off, that's what I am doing.

X-Men: First Class - Been hearing about this one for a long time, but tried to avoid most things about it so nothing was spoiled. Wasn't expecting much for the longest time, then a few weeks ago I heard someone call it the best Marvel movie yet, and that got my expectations up pretty high. So coming out of the movie having my expectations exceeded was pretty great. I don't think I'd call it my favourite Marvel movie yet but it is close.

+9001 internets to you sir, the new Win7 ctrl-alt-delete always irritates me. If you were on a domain with XP it would do the same thing :smile: . Annoying at first, but it is an easy way to get to a password change dialog. Also certain remote desktop viewers will accept ctrl-shift-escape automatically even if it doesn't automatically take other shortcuts.

I love my MX518. I've actually bought a second one, my first one was fine just pretty dirty after 4 years, and I just keep it as an extra. I'll also second the don't go wireless for gaming statement, they may have improved in the past few years but I've never been happy with any I used.

No reason to ctrl-alt-del to get to task manager, as Sbrideau stated ctrl-shift-escape goes straight to it.

The jack on that card is mini-HDMI BTW, so buy your cable accordingly. I don't think theres a lot of price difference between that and a normal HDMI cable; I find both around $10 on Amazon. I suspect you will max out at 1920 x 1080 using one of these. The maximum analog resolution of that card is 2048 x 1536 though, so I still don't have an answer why you are stuck with UXGA resolution. I'm downloading the manual and maybe I will have some more specific answers after I eat and read a little bit. An HDMI to mini-HDMI goes for around $45 here. I think, however, the video card came with a hdmi-minihdmi adapter. Will that adapter work, or should I still buy a mini-hdmi to hdmi cable? Also, thanks alot for all the input, I really appreciate it. And sorry if these questions are silly, I'm not really knowledgeable in this subject. Don't buy HDMI cables at the store, they are way overpriced. For a 2m or 6ft cable you shouldn't spend more than $10US.

Well this TV season is just the first book. It gets better as it goes on. I am about 60% of the way through book three and oh man, some good parts here...

Many 720p HDTVs are actually 1366x768 resolution, and when you choose 720p on those TVs you are actually getting that resolution, not 1280x720.

I've been enjoying it pretty well so far. I first attempted to read the book many, many moons ago (I think only two books of the series were out) and failed pretty hard. I remember getting around a quarter of the way in and giving up. Too many characters introduced, couldn't get attached to any part of it. After hearing they were going to make a TV series out of it I attempted to read it again, and this time got through it (just started book three). I still think it jumps around a little too much and concentrates on a few too many different people, but overall I am really enjoying them. As for the TV series the first episode I really enjoyed, I had just barely finished the first book before it came out so it was all still pretty fresh. The second episode is where I got somewhat disappointed. They were showing the King's party heading south and it just looked cheap. Barely 20 people, hardly a road at all, not at all like I expected the trip to be. Then later in the episode they showed the Dothraki horde which consisted of about 20 people on horseback, and that was disappointing. I got over it though, it is just what you have to deal with on a TV budget. Since then there's been a few other parts like that were a little disappointing, like the dire-wolves. But then this last two episodes with the Eyrie, now that was a lot better than I expected so it all makes up for it...

I am actually some one who benefited from this. I don't give a [bleep] about the PSN, but they are still going to give me a free month of Plus and two free games.

Sex Drive - Better than I thought it would be, but I wasn't expecting much. I mostly got it just for Katrina Bowden, but when I started watching it I had forgot that was the reason why I got it, so it was a nice surprise when she showed up. The Invention of Lying - Also better than I thought it would be, though for this one I was expecting it to be good. So it turned out to be really good. The IMDb score doesn't reflect this though so I'm not sure what I got out of it that other people didn't, maybe it's because I am a fan of a lot of people in it.

Everything else will be better on the PC though. Elder Scrolls games should not be played on consoles. I would still get it for PC even if it does have worse graphics than the PS3.

I would say it depends on the other hardware in your computer. It's possible that if you get a better video card that can outclass the PS3 then it still might be worse than the PS3 in your computer if something else is the bottleneck.

I listen to Joy Division. After a while of doing that then I'll watch a feel good movie like Enchanted or Stardust. Then if I am still sad I just stop being sad and be awesome instead, like a few other people have said.

Well sadly it is the other 1%. Ripping isn't legal in the USA since it violates the DMCA (many will say it falls under fair use, but it doesn't). But everyone does it, and I don't think anyone has ever got in trouble for it (unless they then upload those files to others), so it isn't a bad idea. I love having all my media on my media server. Luckily you don't have too many series to rip, and they are only DVD, so the space shouldn't be too bad. You should be fine fitting that all on the 500gb. I have two 1.5tb+ one 2tb +about 1tb in 7 other random hard drives, it's not too bad to manage it all. You get used to what is stored where pretty easily. You also don't need to worry about it too much either, whatever program you use can just be pointed to all these different places and it will all show up in one place.

Basically I was trying to figure out what you actually have without actually saying that you don't have what you think. I do this for a living you see :wink: . The way you were describing originally is not common at all. The way you described it in this post is normal, though it is still possible that it is somehow configured like you said in the first post (only saying it's possible because you mentioned that shutting off one of the networks on the "main computer" causes everyone's internet to go down). As it stands now I still have no idea how you would have configured it so that everyone's internet goes through one computer (well, I know how it is done but not why it would be done). None of your computers should be connected to the "main computer". They should be connected to the wireless router. If there is any sort of internet sharing on the main computer then it should be turned off. The main computer should just connect to one wireless network (the wireless router).

I didn't get anything back from the scan, I guess it could have been a bad ad from that site though and we just didn't get it.

But why? What particular reason are you doing it that way for?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "the main computer sends the signal". Why would you have internet connection sharing set up through that computer if you have a router? The computers shouldn't need to connect to a main computer, unless you have some sort of server with a domain set up on it. Not too much point in that on a home network though.
