What movie(s) did you last see?
Kick-[wagon] - It was completely kick-[wagon], that is just the best way to describe it.

South Park
Heh, it was frakkin' awesome. Although I am going to have avoid /tv/ until next week so no spoilers, probably this topic too. Already avoiding /tv/ for Lost spoilers anyways so not much difference there.

LOST: The Final Season
Oh man, tons of "oh [cabbage]" moments in this episode. There are only 4 more episodes right?

Hi-Fi
I'm bumping this because I am curious about other people's thoughts on 5.1 vs 7.1. Also, is it a good idea to just buy a Home Theater in a Box or should I buy the receiver and speakers separately? I am specifically looking at this HTIB: ONKYO HT-S6200. EDIT: Actually after researching that particular HTiB I don't think I want it. I'd like all my devices to connect to the receiver, then one HDMI cable to the TV. The receiver in the 6200 won't transfer video that way for composite and component sources. Also I just looked at how my room is set up and I am not even sure that rear speakers are an option, just no good place to put them. If 5.1 isn't even an option then there is really no reason for me to upgrade from my 1980's floor speakers  .

Swedish Military - Fun Quick Thinking Team Test
I gave it a minute and it never found any other participants so that's that.

The new character was released a few days ago wasn't it?

Screen Recorder?
Screen recorder =/= editing program. Oh and this thread is from August, guys. Damn, didn't even realize. Not sure why people feel the need to bump these sort of threads up from months ago...

Screen Recorder?
I'd suggest recording at the highest quality possible, then using another program to convert the filetype and quality. Hard drive space is so cheap now (1TB for $60) you really have no reason to not have enough HDD space.

Revolution in Kyrgyzstan?
It would be nice to have better quality available though. When I first started keeping up with it a year or two ago I was on a monitor with 1024x768 resolution so they took up a lot of the screen and seemed big. Now they barely take up a third of the monitor space, about half of the usable browser window.

Hi-Fi
Just out of curiosity, why a 7.1 setup? If it's just for home entertainment, then 5.1 is quite enough. A 7.1 setup would mean adding more channels to your receiver, which gives said receiver more work to do. And since your budget is fairly limited to spend on a receiver, this is not a good thing (clipping likely to occur when watching movies, etc.). Most films don't even support 7.1, so the two remaining speakers will usually fake something for the back-surrounds. But to answer your question, yes you could get a quite decent setup for that price (this is highly subjective of course). In my opinion though, you should get a 5.1 setup. A 7.1 setup simply doesn't make sense in a home environment. It was just for anything that has a 7.1 audio track, but I just checked all my blu-rays and only one had a 7.1 audio track (Dark City).

[Spoilers] Stargate Universe
Generally topics pertaining to a specific TV show always have the most current episode spoilers. It is like this in all of them (24, Lost, South Park, Heroes ect...). It is just too annoying to have every single post in spoiler tags. Spoilers outside of the specific TV show/movie topic in general topics obviously should be in spoiler tags, but in these threads it should be up to the user to avoid until they are caught up. EDIT: Plus there is not a button to add spoiler tags in the reply box. I always have to go back and check to see if it is "hide]" or "spoiler]". I am adding my comment of this episode in the tags this time, but more discussion and it will happen out in the open. [hide]Oh and I was actually a little surprised by the way they got Rush back. It was pretty obvious they would, and that it would have something to do with the ship, but I really thought he would get it up and running and catch up. It was an alien ship that we haven't seen before so I shouldn't have been surprised by their reveal but I was.[/hide]

Is it possible to get a 7.1 speaker set + receiver for $500 that sounds decent?

Laptop Brands
I'm happy with my Acer laptop, except for the speakers. I would say don't really worry about brands, look at reviews. This doesn't just go for laptops but all electronics. So many different brands of laptops all come out of two or three factories somewhere in Asia that it is pointless to worry about brands of anything.

5gb internet
It is true going from dial-up to a 5gb limit on broadband would be worth it, but after you use high speed for a little while you will see it isn't plausible to do 5gb or less of traffic a month. There are some times I do twice that in a day, and I don't even have a particularly fast connection (3mbps down/768kbps up).

Weird problem with this forum
Umm, that's not how forums work. If you want a discussion to stop you are the one who has to stop it. Making a post giving your side of the discussion then saying stop is just plain stupid.

What movie(s) did you last see?
I haven't heard of anyone who liked it so far, I was excited a lot for it last year and have been waiting eagerly since then, but after all the reviews (from critics and friends and others) I decided to not even worry about seeing it in theaters. Just going to wait for the DVD.

FOX announces award winning '24' will have its last season.
I just got déjà vu, we've probably had this conversation in the last 24 topic but my response to that is it should have ended after season 1, then someone mentions Elisha Cuthbert.

What is your favorite zombie movie?
That is surprising, I have never heard anything about it below "it was good." Generally you get "great" or "excellent".

What movie(s) did you last see?
Yeah all of Wes Anderson's movies are great. I would try and watch them in chronological order, if you are looking for a particular order to watch them. The first three (counting Bottle Rocket once) I loved the first time I watched them, and after a few more they are still great. The Life Aquatic though I didn't care for much the first time, but the second time around I liked it as much as the others. The Darjeeling Limited I watched in theaters (I think), and thought it was OK, bought it around a year later meaning to give it a second watch and now, 2 years later still haven't watched it a second time. So I need to do that to decide how good it is. The Fantastic Mr. Fox I loved the first and only time so far that I've watched it.

What is your favorite zombie movie?
My favourite would have to be Shaun of the Dead. Even though it is kind of a spoof it is really a great zombie movie. Romero zombie movies are all decent, but none really all that great. Survival of the Dead came out early this year/late last year and I just got around to watching it a week or two ago, it was OK. Better than Diary of the Dead at least. Depending on how broad of a definition you want to give to zombie movies, I see someone put Resident Evil above, then if you count 28 Days Later... it would definitely be in contention with Shaun of the Dead for my favourite.
