  1. I still haven't got around to playing the first one yet, guess I need to get on that.
  2. Well that's the correct tab then, there should be another drop down menu above that right below the big gray area with monitor icons in it. Is there only one monitor icon in that gray area? If so then Windows doesn't even know you have a pci video card.
  3. I've never had to disable onboard video to get a PCI card to work, but I usually do have to tell windows to use it: There is something you could try, after installing the pci card plug the monitor into the onboard video, not the pci. Then right click on the desktop, click properties, go to the last tab. See if your pci video card is in the drop down menu, or click on the grayed out monitor. Once you have it selected check both boxes "extend desktop to this monitor" "make this primary monitor". If a dialogue box comes up with 15 second countdown click OK (or don't click anything if for some reason you can't see the screen anymore, that means you accidentally turned off your onboard GPU). Once that is done, check to see which side of the screen your desktop extended to (your mouse will go off completely, and take longer to get back). Drag the properties window over to that side so it is on the desktop you can't see. Unplug the monitor from the onboard video and plug it into your PCI card. You should see your desktop with the properties window. Then in the properties window select your onboard from the drop down or clicking on the monitor icon, and deselect "extend desktop to this monitor". Done  . Oh and some of that may be wrong, don't have an XP computer on to check so I am doing it from memory. Let me know if anything is unclear.
  4. Pretty much everything has a limited 30day warranty, what they want to sell you most likely just extends that.
  5. It's not that easy, but that earthquake had a lot of force. There are so many other things that have that amount of force also though, so they couldn't even find the 3 inches in the data. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=124249439
  6. Did you read my post above? The earth shifts it's axis like this EVERY SINGLE DAY. It always has, and always will. So no, it won't fix global warming, the only way to do that is not pollute as much.
  7. One of my favourite movies of all time. 45/50 completed  . Tonight I am going to watch Robocop (yeah I never saw it before, maybe parts on TV when I was a kid. I did have a T-shirt of it though) along with Orson Welles' The Trial to get to 47.
  8. This isn't testable, they are pretty much positive that was the effect the earthquake had on the world. However, many, many other things also affect the rotation on a daily basis on both the positive and negative side which means while the earthquake caused us to lose a millionth of a second there are other things that added a 1/4 millionth of a second or so, and in the end they couldn't even find the earthquake in the measurements.
  9. I vaguely remember hearing about that name change, I'll also always call it the Sears Tower though.
  10. Ahh, I didn't know that. Haven't updated my bookmarks to this new computer yet so I don't have the Obameter on my bookmark toolbar like I usually do.
  11. Mordin I think is my favourite character in any video game ever. He is just that awesome.
  12. The Big Picture's photo journal
  13. Actually Firefox hasn't been working ideally with TIF for me lately. In every topic I go to there is a huge space at the top between the stuff at the very top and the topic. Then at the bottom of the page the fast reply box is also huge, and unusable. I only have the problem on this computer which leads me to believe it is a resolution problem, running 1024x768 (don't laugh) on the one it works fine, on this one running 1920x1080 it doesn't. Also on an unrelated note Fx and Flash have been giving me grief also. The first time I go to a page with a video in it Fx doesn't respond for about 15 seconds, then it is fine until I restart the computer again. During that 15 seconds the video buffers though, so it isn't too bad. Once per day isn't bad either but it just recently started doing it and I'm still in the annoyance phase.
  14. Seems right, I said above that I thought it would be OK to turn the console back on tomorrow, since it would skip the non-existent day. Good to know that it will probably fix itself for those who were set back to 2000, didn't really know what was wrong and I thought they might be stuck back in that time.
  15. I'm not even sure they make single core CPUs anymore. Probably do, but I never look for them. But anyways you will probably be fine. What program is it?
  16. It isn't. It is more west than Ohio though, which is in the midwest. I'm glad no buckeyes have taken offense to that yet  .
  17. Rares were actually the only reason I stayed playing RS as long as I did, I wish more games would have stuff like that. It was actually the reason I stopped playing too, I lent 35 Santa Hats to someone to merchant while I was taking a break from the game, he conveniently got hacked the next day. Early 2005, not sure how much they were worth then.
  18. After turning it on there is nothing more you could do to screw it up, the damage is already done. EDIT: That sounded worse than it actually is. The damage is just your date is wrong. It's not really for certain whether tomorrow you will see the date Jan 1st/2nd or March 1st. Those of us who didn't have theirs on and didn't turn it on will also have the wrong date, ours will just be a day off, so they will probably say March 1st tomorrow. EDIT2: Actually just realized I don't think I can put myself in that second group of people, pretty sure I had my PS3 on after 7:00 EST last night. I never noticed any errors because I hardly ever use the system for gaming, just as a media center/blu-ray player.
  19. Also try out True Romance and Natural Born Killers. They aren't considered part of his "six" (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill, Death Proof and Inglorious Basterds) since he only wrote them, didn't direct. EDIT: Also the first From Dusk Til Dawn, that was great. Don't bother with 2 and 3 though, neither he or Robert Rodriguez had anything to do with them as far as I can remember.
  20. Umm, why wouldn't you consider a video game a video game?
  21. Not exactly. Y2k "bug" was that some systems stored years in just two digits, so when 2000 came around the system would think it meant 1900. This problem is that for some reason the system thought that this was a leap year and therefore that February had 29 days, which it obviously doesn't this year. So when it tried to change to Feb 29, 2010 it freaked out and reset to Dec 31, 1999 or Jan 1, 2000 depending on what time you are. This screwed up most of the DRM stuff. Speaking of which, DRM crippling a game so that it doesn't work OFFLINE in SINGLE player mode for any reason whatsoever is completely unacceptable. In reality that's all the trophy system is, a "legitimate" reason to make a check if the game is pirated or not over the internet.
  22. You could save some money by getting a smaller hard drive. ~$45 for a 320gig. Use other older hard drives for backup/media, if you run out of space then buy a bigger one. By that time 1TB might be $45.
  23. First of all, this sucks [wagon]. Now that that is out of the way, it will be funny to see Republicans rail on this decision because Obama did it even though 3 years ago they would have been all for it.
  24. Ohio drivers suck [wagon], so I'll throw that out as the worst state. /Hoosier here //wishes Buckeyes would stay off country roads they obviously don't know how to drive on EDIT: A few people here are failing at geography, it's obviously fine if you are from outside the US but everyone in the US should know what the midwest is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwestern_United_States
  25. You get 200k/50k as long as you have finished ME2 twice, or once from an imported ME1 character. This will be true for every character you make here after. Look at my previous post for other bonuses. Having everyone survive the suicide mission is easy. Just complete the game. Recruitment/loyalty missions make up far more than the main storyline, if you just play the main storyline you are doing it wrong. The game is mostly building your team, the main storyline is kind of a side note. For the suicide mission just chose the right people to do the right job. It's pretty obvious who is best for what, so don't just chose characters you like (like I did  my first playthrough), choose characters that are good for their parts. One no loss combo is Legion:vents, Garrus:team leader both times, Jack:barrier, anyone:crew escort. Tali completes the vents just as well, not sure who else for team leader but some have said Miranda, Samarra/Morinth can both handle the barrier fine also.
