  1. Moose. Or a polar bear, Canada has plenty of both. Some kids just don't do well in school, and don't really get anything out of finishing school. Some would rather just start working in a factory somewhere. If that is their choice, I say let them do it. You don't need a HS diploma to do manual labour jobs.
  2. One more reason to choose the Wii:
  3. There's nothing to be ashamed about with Land Before Time :) Nothing wrong with the first one, it is a decent kids movie. But there is something wrong if you watch 2-11. They absolutely suck, I don't think even kids like them.
  4. He hates it when you over-cook spaghetti.
  5. Heh, good comparison. I could play games over the internet all the time with my computer, but I chose not to. I don't feel like playing with a lot of people I don't know, and who are generally a lot better than me. The only time I play multi-player is with my friends, on one of their consoles that all of us can play at the same time. Even when I get the Wii, I probably wont play online all that often. Even if it is free.
  6. To Be or Not to Be - Mel Brooks' WWII NAZI film. IMDb lists it correctly as Drama and War before comedy, of all of them this has been the least like a comedy. Still pretty good. Young Frankenstein - I didn't even notice this movie was B&W until about 20 minutes into it  . Of all of his that I have seen so far, this one has been ranked the highest. I thought it was pretty good, probably not my favourite though. You gotta love Gene Wilder though.
  7. Once you are out of school you don't deal with that too much more. Maybe at college you might, at my college there wasn't a problem though. In fact, one night after class we decided to go out and get some pizza. In the class there was one of the really popular kids, one who wears all the American Eagle clothing and stuff (he fit the stereotype). Then there was another kid who might have had one friend, but no one ever knew because no one ever talked to him. Somebody you would probably not admit to going out to pizza with. But when we went out, both the popular kid and the not-so popular kid went along with all of us "middle-class" people. We even had a talk about how this would never have happened in high school. Everybody was OK with it now though.
  8. Oh, forgot about that.
  9. Bucket. A line is a lot easier to take with you. Fits in the tackle box. And you don't have to worry about putting water in the bucket.
  10. Why does anyone who uses it deserve to have it used on them? We are talking about fish here. One clear advantage is it keeps all your fish together until you are done fishing. Then after you are done, they are all on a line and can easily be transported from one place to another.
  11. How can you blatantly say it is wrong? They make those fishing lines for a reason, because people use them. Sure, you can disagree with whether or not it is cruel/necessary, but just plain saying "wrong" is stupid.
  12. I pretty much wake up when I need to. This morning I woke up at 6:00, no alarms. Tomorrow I will wake up at 8:00, like normal. When you get on a schedule that doesn't change to often it is easier.
  13. From what I have heard over the 'tubes it sounds like December 17th is the day. None of the stores around here were selling today, but they were all holding (heh, sounds like drugs). I woke up at 6:00AM this morning, only to find out there was no reason to. I better be able to get a Wii this next Sunday, or I'll go from extremely pissed off to being crazily pissed off.
  14. @Mr. Putter: I also didn't think PotC II was as entertaining as the first one, it just didn't have that something special to it. The first one I have watched a few times, I'll probably only watch the second one more time, just before the third one comes out. It's not bad, just nothing special. Robin Hood: Men in Tights - Probably my favourite Mel Brooks film so far. It is also rated the worse out of all that I have seen so far on IMDb. I don't know what that says about myself, but I am OK with it. I think my opinion of this movie may be greatly skewed because of the actors in it. Robin Hood is played by Cary Elwes, who plays Westly in The Princess Bride. And I loved that movie. Then there is also Dave Chappelle, and Isaac Hayes. Last time I watched this movie was so long ago I didn't even know who Isaac Hayes was at the time, or just didn't notice (voice of Chef, on South Park). Even with my biased view of the Robin Hood stories, I still found this movie hilarious. Silent Movie - I have nothing against silent movies, in fact I have really enjoyed the ones I have seen. While silent can be better for some films (Chaplin), they aren't good for Mel Brooks films. He tried, but IMO didn't pull it off very well. I wouldn't mind seeing a new silent movie by somebody, just to see if modern day directors/writers could pull it off. It would have to be a low budget movie though, no studio would ever back something like that. It might be better that way anyhow. The Twelve Chairs - Even though I was pretty disappointed with Silent Movie, I was more disappointed with this one. So that makes it my least favourite so far. It wasn't bad, just didn't make me laugh as much as the other ones. Possibly could have been better with a more imaginative ending. It seemed really obvious to me. I still have two more Mel Brooks movies to go, then I move on to my Billy Wilder collection. Elf - I know I've reviewed this at least once in this topic, maybe twice. Anyways, I enjoyed it, as always. Will Ferrell was great, and Zooey Deschanel was hot, as always. If you want to watch a Christmas movie with your family, this would be a good choice.
  15. I have a lot of DVDs in my collection, not nearly as many as some people though :D . Just a few months ago I started collecting comic books, I have a decent amount now. They have all been from the Marvel Universe except for my BSG comics. Pop Tabs I am going to count this as a collection, even though I was originally just doing it to recycle. Supposedly you get more money per pound than just regular aluminum. About five years ago when I did this I never turned them in, just stuck the bucket in the back of a closet and forgot about it. I don't know why some are in a bag, I haven't opened it in quite a while  . It counts as a collection, right? EDIT: Woah, forgot thumbnails.
  16. It seems that a lot of people enjoy board games, but for the most part we are saying more or less the same ones. Monopoly, Risk, Clue, ect... Does anyone have any that may not be all that known?
  17. Heh, I thought I came up with that theory, until someone told me I didn't. It used to be the popular theory, but now it's generally held as false.
  18. Since I was already on the topic of gutting animals, I have to ask, has anyone ever killed a fish? After you catch a fish, and plan on eating it, the first thing you do is stick a rope with a [bleep]e on the end through the fish's mouth out through the gills. Then you stick the [bleep]e in the ground, and throw the fish back in the water till you are done fishing. So the fish is basically on a leash, except the leash isn't around the neck, but inside the fish's mouth and out the gill. Once you are done fishing and have all the fish you want to eat on the line, you take them out of the water and start butchering them. The first part of that is putting them on the cutting board, and hitting their heads with a blunt object to knock them unconscious. Usually just hold on to the blade (carefully) of the knife you are going to use, and hit the fish with the handle. Once the fish is unconscious, you cut of it's head. Yep, you cut of the head while the fish is still alive. Of course after the head is cut of it is not alive anymore. If you were a fish, who would you hate more. The one that fishes for sport, or the one who fishes for a meal?
  19. But that's how I wanted it, only way to disagree with what he said :D .
  20. I helped my dad "gut" a deer the other night. After you kill it, you put it on its back, cut the belly open down to the crotch, and yank all the guts out. It usually smells pretty bad, and he accidentally cut the bowel tract so there was half processed crap smell, and it stank bad. I told this story to some people around here, and they just wanted to know how big the deer was. They don't find it too disgusting, it is just something that happens around here. Years ago there were so many deer around here that they took away the limit that you were allowed to get. Too many deer = too many crossing roads = car accidents, sometimes followed by death of the passangers.
  21. I didn't think the shark should not be killed. I also didn't think it should be killed. I thought it best to leave the decision up to the family. Personally, it wouldn't be worth the time and money to kill it. But if they wanted to, it's their choice. /OT I just wanted to know, your title says 100 reasons, yet you say two videos gave you six reasons. Was the title supposed to be 10 reasons?
  22. I was champion of my class in 2005 playing Risk :P . I love board games, but not ones based on knowledge. I like ones based on logic, and luck. Scrabble is about the only knowledge based board game I enjoy.
  23. SOAP is another one I haven't been able to see yet. When does it come out on DVD?
  24. I'd have to say The Departed would be my favourite this year so far. I'd like to see Little Miss Sunshine and The Fountain before I make a decision though.
  25. Blazing saddles - Mel Brooks parodies a western. High Anxiety - Mel Brooks parodies Alfred Hitchcock movies. History of the World: Part I - Mel Brooks parodies, well I guess historical movies. I just received my Mel Brooks box set, so the next few movies will probably also be Mel Brooks movies. These first three have been hilarious. I think I enjoyed High Anxiety the most, since I love Alfred Hitchcock movies. The Psycho scene had me ROFL, literally.
