  1. Ok, going to give a big update later today. Just want to mention that I am sending 8 of my ships with 10,000 people each to the 4 planets (2 ships per planet) in the system doom just discovered 473 light years away. This will also be the first off-world emigration of my empire consisting more than just Norway. Norwegians will still be the majority, but both Finnish and Estonians will be part.
  2. Can't argue with that  . I like The Big Bang Theory opening song, took me about 10 times before I got it right, but after that I can nail it pretty much everytime. When season 2 started it was the first time I saw it in months, and I still got it. That made me feel really awesome so I thought I'd share it with you all  .

Weird... my profile shows almost 3,000 less posts than my actual. Lol. Also had that problem. It was a little confusing seeing everyone mention their profile count being higher than what is under their name in a topic, when mine is the opposite. I don't think I've ever posted in a forum that doesn't count to your post count (it's just forum games right?)
  4. Already posted it on the first page  .
  5. Hmm, I would have liked to check that out also. Oh well, I never even played Uncharted 1 so I should really do that first.

Time here is generally more important that post count.
  7. I don't think we should have to use hide tags every week, the show has been established now and people who are going to watch it are watching it. Just don't check the thread until you watch the newest episode. I think it was implied that they sent the other two a remote to get them back, the girl is kind of a main character.
  8. When I drink I get honest, and I drank just a bit tonight. Possibly more angry than I should have been, but right now I don't feel that way. Those people who preface their pictures with something along the lines of degrading their picture before seeing it ALWAYS want someone to disagree and fawn over them, thus giving the poster security about their looks. It is just really [bleep]ing annoying.
  9. A few years ago I actually set out to watch every movie on there, definitely found some gems I wasn't expecting. In the last year or so I haven't got around to completing more of it, last count was around 200 out of 250 watched or so. It's probably much less now with the movies changing. I did have 1-150 or so completely finished at one point.
  10. I find it [bleep]ing annoying, and everyone should agree that they are ugly regardless of if they are or not. It's just attention whoring, it happens all the time in this thread. Just post your pic and go, comments like that will just get you annoying little children fawning all over you, which is probably what you want but is seriously sad.
  11. Hey I am drunk so no actual post but I want a front page spot. I am still the Norwegian Empire, one of the first concerned with getting permanent offworld settlements by humans, so that is my main theme. More to follow later.
  12. She is good in Glee, I like her better in Heroes though.
  13. Umm, I was putting in my opinion about which controllers were the best. Don't get your panties in a bunch.
  14. After using many different controllers, I can say that the PS3 controller is not one of the best. First off the left trigger is too far to the inside, second complaint would be the secondary shoulders are buttons rather than triggers, and lastly it doesn't contour to your hand as well as other controllers. I'd choose the regular X-Box, 360, Dreamcast or GameCube controllers over it. I do like the smoothness of the triggers though, that is nice.
  15. I have almost $3 trillion in my sovereign wealth fund, so if any NWO members want to sell their part of the Scandinavian area then I would be willing to purchase it.
  16. And why is that bad? It was just nominations at that point. He was following one of the worst US presidencies there has ever been, in the midst of a huge economic crisis, and getting control of a country that is in two wars. It makes sense to nominate him. Then, if they didn't feel he was doing or was going to do anything worthy of the peace prize, they just wouldn't give it to him. The two week after his term started argument is probably the most stupidest one there is.
  17. While I believe there are others who are more deserving of it, there is a point to giving it to someone before they really do much, but are capable of doing a lot. Anyways, who knows how important starting talking with the countries like Iran will be in the future? It's possible if he didn't open up talks now something could have happened in the future that made it too late.
  18. Well there is your problem, that website shows GDP CTYD (gross domestic product calendar year to date), not GDP. And yes, there is an inordinate amount of debt. Bailouts/war being the most recent causes. I am morally a laissez-faire capitalist, meaning NO government intervention in the economy. However in practice I don't mind certain things being government run (roads, schools, police, military, courts). I find fear mongering about the debt to be a weak point of contention that people spout because other people on TV tell them to, and the comparison of debt to GDP being one of them. Debt and GDP can't be related like that, you need to compare debt vs total net worth (for example normal households in the US were worth a total of $44 trillion in 2000, that's not counting any business at all [many of which are worth 10s or 100s of billions themselves]). EDIT: Also I know not to double post, as you may have noticed I have been around quite some time before you (a year or two on the Scapeboard before this forum). I just figured someone else would post by the time I made that second. EDIT2: While $42k worth of debt per person in the US is bad, it isn't crazy bad. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_external_debt Arrange that by per person and you can see that many other countries have worse debt problems for the sizes, and they are all modernized industrial nations.
  19. And those numbers are wrong anyways, our debt is $11.9 trillion and our GDP is $13.78 trillion. So even if you were right, which you weren't, it would still be wrong.
  20. Politicians who will have to use political capital to push through climate legislation that lowers the competitiveness of domestic companies vs those abroad who don't have climate related restrictions? Yeah, there isn't a reason for them to want climate change to be true. It's worse for them if it is true. And the debt was just to point out you are wrong in saying we are worth $10 trillion, and have a debt of $11 trillion. $10 trillion is our "salary", not what we are worth. I make $15k a year but it is completely irrelevant to say I am worth $15k, the only thing it is good for is predicting how much your worth will increase.
  21. First off, we don't owe more than we are worth. GDP is gross domestic product, that is how much the country produces every year. About the climate change, obviously there are cycles. And through an increasing warming period there can be points where it gets colder, but the general trend is it getting warmer. The report by the IPCC (International Panel on Climate Change) http://www.grida.no/publications/other/ipcc_tar/?src=/climate/ipcc_tar/wg1/index.htm shows this. http://royalsociety.org/displaypagedoc.asp?id=20742 This link is to a paper that is the joint product from EVERY NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCE of the major industrialized nations (the ones who have the most to lose). So, do I trust the scientists of every major country of the world who are all experts in climate change, or some kid on a forum?
  22. Lol. Every scientific organization in the world agrees that global warming exists and is attributed to human factors (or they are non-committal, NONE have dissented).
  23. They aren't bluffing, NASA never mentioned "bomb" anywhere in their press release, BECAUSE THEY AREN'T BOMBING THE MOON. They are impacting a spacecraft into it, just like India did 11 months ago. THIS IS ALL JUST MEDIA HYPE PLAYING ON THE FEARS OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND SCIENCE.
  24. Holy crap, I just saw the "hollow moon" part. That I can't even articulate how stupid it is.
  25. Man the amount of stupidity in this topic is scary. This will not harm the moon at all, the moon has been hit thousands of times with more force by asteroids. It's seriously scary that one person said they were worried about this knocking the moon out of orbit, it goes to show how much media hype spreading FUD can cause stupidity by people. Oh and all this is made even worse because India did this exact same thing last November and nobody cared then.
