Most of the submarines built for the Norwegian Navy are created from multiple places, usually get parts from Sweden, Germany and Denmark, as well as creating some parts in docks here. The companies are not state owned, so no, Norway doesn't do submarines. I am sure you could order some submarines from China, while looking on Google for information I found a few Chinese manufacturers that may be state owned.

Basically the Nopec cartel will gradually increase oil prices all the time. Right now people need oil. When they see our gradual increase in prices they will have no choice but to purchase it at a higher price, for now. So for the next few years at least we will be making tons of money more than we already make. However, all oil dependent countries are going to see the price increases and look for alternate fuel sources, hopefully more environmentally friendly. So when those come along demand will start to fall, and we will be making less than we could of with market set prices dragging out oil demand for much longer. Now the idea is with the increased revenue now is to invest in something other than oil for the future. Since you just invested in oil, it wouldn't be wise to help run the market into the ground. Right now only Norway and Russia are part of Nopec. EDIT: Right now Nopec, with just two countries, controls 16% of the market.

Nopec is going to be the counter-balance to OPEC. I created it as a way to temporarily increase oil revenue now so that all oil exporting countries that want to join can make money now. Then they should use that money now to create other infrastructure not related to oil, so as to be environmentally conscious. EDIT: For you it actually would not be beneficial to join Nopec, so I rescind that stipulation in order to keep the deal.

However you want to pay back 90% of the loan is fine. Petoro will be paid for construction, and if you want them to staff it, but the oil is yours. EDIT: So here is a scenario, I loan you $5billion. You pay that $5b to Petoro to construct everything you need. So now you are back to $0, and owe me $4.5b, but you have oil production facilities. You own the drilling and refining equipment as well as all the oil you get. This can be a 18 year loan, so you would only have to pay back $250 million a year.

I didn't post numbers because they are small. Currently 23,000 people serve in the Norwegian Armed Forces, with a possibility of 83,000 during full mobilization. There is mandatory 6-12 months of training for all males. What I did with the country was give incentives to increase active personnel up 2%, which is only around 500 people apparently. Cool, currently in the real world Russia is studying what Norway is doing with oil anyhow, so there won't be any changes there. As stated in my other posts Nopec isn't the most profitable way to run it, unless of course international laws are created to curb emissions. Then Nopec will just have been ahead of the curve. However with the amount of oil Russia has you will have no problem making good amounts of money. Norway is in a better condition than many countries (second highest GDP per capita, the recession hardly affected Norway at all) because of it's oil wealth so we will not need free vaccines, we can pay for them, as well as give a little funding for them to be sent to poorer countries. The space program was not requesting money from you, it is contributing money to an International space program that benefits all countries. Space (for now) should not be for individual countries, but for all mankind. In exchange for giving an International space program funding I was requesting that a Norwegian be given command of the first few International space program's flights. The crew would consist of all contributors, and all other countries would still get the benefits of knowledge even if they can't fund. All this can be accomplished by just using a little bit more of the oil fund, which is huge. I picked Norway for a reason, and that reason is it is rich as hell :D .

I'm assuming yes. For those interested Norway will not be joining any alliance that requires military assistance, even for defense. Although in most cases of defense Norway will support. EDIT: Totalitarian regimes need not apply.

I may have singled out the wrong person indeed, and for that I am sorry (hands indy a handful of AIDs vaccines). I'm just trying to avoid people going on a spree and deciding to conquer countries that may or may not be occupied sooner or later, which is what I assumed you were doing with the Scandinavian countries. The only reason why I am lenient with Lent and Doomsayer (although I have warned them not to go overboard) is because even combined, all of South America makes less than most Northern countries. I just want to slow things down a little, which is why I have ordered the SAR campaign to halt it's expansion at Colombia and Venezuela. For the time being, Rocco will only occupy Libya and Egypt in hopes that another brave leader will step in with plans for helping African countries. Please avoid any sort of expansion until a few more days, when everyone will have a chance to play an equal part in the new world. Then I was going to ally with Finland and Denmark. Finland and Sweden have both been claimed already, just nothing done about them. Then after all of this I was going to stipulate that none of the expansion would be legally binding if strong leadership showed up, a peaceful annexation would be a peaceful separation. Basically meaning if someone claimed the country and did something with it I would cede all control over it, and break all alliances until they wish to re-ally. But it's probably better just to wait a few days for everyone to show up. If they see my color on the map over the countries they may assume too much. BTW, any thought to giving command of the first few NWO spaceflights to a Norwegian? ;) For now under current budget I propose an ISS type of venture, except instead of it being weightless we simulate gravity through rotation of a large circular spacestation. That way we can study the effects of "virtual" gravity vs real gravity.

The only reason why I am letting Lent and Doom take over South America is because I do not expect anyone to come into this thread and whine that they didn't have their chance to claim Peru, Paraguay or Bolivia. That being said, if anyone is from Peru or Bolivia wishes to rule their homeland, I would have to force Lent and Doom to make them their ally. I want more posts like Doom's, which do not alter his power or his territory size but instead gives me insight on how he's running things. I'll form a non-aggression pact with you, but I am only going to be conquering one country and it will be peaceful. What's more important is forming an economic alliance, mostly in regards to oil. Russia is the biggest non-OPEC oil exporter, with Norway being the second biggest non-OPEC. We should work on creating another oil cartel, as mentioned in my other posts. Norway, due to it's recent expansion of it's military (5% spending increase, 2% for more personnel and 3% for new technology) as well as contributing to the New World Order's AIDS/Malaria vaccines for itself and poorer countries along with contributions to space exploration has spent more than usual. This has called for an increase of the rate that the country is allowed to spend The Government Pension Fund from 4% to 6%. If the South American coalition gets Venezuela and agrees to the non-OPEC oil cartel along with steadily increasing prices the extra income for the next few years will allow the rate to go back down to 4%.

Are we allowed to claim more than one country? Looks like all of South America is under one color but only three users have claimed countries. Putting all three of your countries under one color is not a problem since you have an empire, but what about the other unclaimed countries? We should probably give it a little time for others to claim some countries before expansion is allowed.

Luckily I had most of the military stationed on Svalbard as well as most of the government after the NIS informed me of the upcoming revolution. Now I am taking the country back via some force, but most people didn't want the revolution anyways so everything is back to normal. See, I can godmod too ;) . EDIT: Norway will take some of the AIDs and malaria vaccinations as well as give some funding for the vaccines in poorer countries. This can be a straight cash transaction because of the wealth the country has built up, but it can also be paid in oil if desired. Finland hasn't been taken yet. I mentioned forming an alliance with Finland (along with Denmark) but no one has claimed either yet. I don't think Sweden has been taken yet either. I (Norway) am going to attempt to consolidate power with Sweden, and just ally with Finland and Denmark. However I can't claim any of them yet since you are only allowed one country. Argentina (Lenticular) and Brazil (doom) are going to attempt a South American empire and get two of the OPEC oil producing countries (Venezuela and Ecuador) and along with Norway (me) we will break your oil cartel :D . Okay, not really. But if we could get Russia and Canada to join us, then watch out. All major oil producing countries have some leverage over the US, as well as should have some fear of invasion from them. Right now almost all the oil is traded in US dollars and is largely responsible for the dollar hegemony, but if enough exporters switch currencies we could really hurt the US economy.

Once your South American empire gets Venezuela and Ecuador you and I need to talk about breaking those countries out of the OPEC cartel. 20% of my GDP is based on oil (7th largest exporter in the world, 2nd largest non OPEC) so we could create a competing cartel that has different objectives. Rather than pricing oil for the best profits, we should have a steadily increasing value that is transparent to everyone, so they know what to expect, and also will hopefully reduce oil dependency as time goes on. Now we will continue to make money, mostly during the beginning while oil dependent nations have no other options. EDIT: I propose this because of the general Tip.it'ers views regarding environmental legislation. Everyone seems to have some sort of plan for helping the environment, and I wouldn't be surprised if an International law is created to reduce emissions. I saw this topic pop up yesterday but no one had replied to it so I didn't think it was going to be this fast, and I was working on my plan for India so I decided not to call it until I had the plan ready. Since that option is off the table I am claiming Norway, and I am going to let it run exactly as it already is. EDIT: This is the Tip.it world we are talking about, so actually I am going to need to increase the military. I'm guessing most Tip.it'ers with their utter control over countries are going to be war/expansion happy :) . So a slightly increased military, and get into diplomatic talks with Sweden to try and consolidate the Scandinavian Peninsula under one rule, and talks with Finland and Denmark to get a strong alliance against any other countries that want to expand into Northern Europe.

When it happens in other countries it gets hype also. It seems like there is a story about it on digg at least once a month, usually from a Middle Eastern country.
