  1. Those deffinately are not "Masterpieces". I still need some system of cutting out some movies to make room for other ones suggested... Any ideas? Neither are masterpieces, and neither are all that great besides for a few laughs. But your original post was one hundred movies to see before you die, regardless of how good they are or not. You could argue that one of them should go on there to represent the "low budget TV show given a large budget for a movie and then not doing anything with it" movie. It is also a good representation of actors doing their own stunts, if you really watch a lot of action you see how rare that is.
  2. That xkcd was epic once I finally knew what it meant :) .
  3. It's still copyright infringement, no matter how long you keep it or for what reason. So you have to decide whether you believe that is moral or not. Now this game specifically, first I must say it is my second favourite game of all time (behind Tetris). I also must say that I didn't buy it at first either, so I spent hundreds of hours playing it illegally. But I did end up buying it much later, just because I wanted to support them for making an awesome game. Also the chances of your computer not running it are small.
  4. Even in the busiest of nights tossing pizza dough up in the air covered in flour you would never get that much flour there. However, when the bosses were away (actually sometimes when they were there) playing around with flour is one of the best things to do to others, since it both annoys them from the hardness to clean and it is cheap so if you get caught they don't care.
  5. The one he posted was taken down for some reason, but I saw another link to it earlier on digg.
  6. Nail guns have a safety on them, you can't shoot in the air unless the safety is broken. Normal operation requires you to be pushing on something. Of course this isn't hard to modify, just making the point that you can't buy a nail gun at the store and start shoot at things with it.
  7. is ddosing some type of spamming to sites to crash them(im awful with computers) I would go for it, I dont see any country goingn after you for going after Iran's computers. DDoS for Distributed Denial of Service, or DoS meaning Denial of Service.
  8. High prices have nothing to do with piracy. Well, the company might raise prices and blame it on piracy but it is just an excuse to raise rates. Piracy doesn't affect the amount of legal viewers. Well, it doesn't affect it all that much. And it works both ways, piracy can hurt movie sales a bit, but it can also help them. Piracy=fewer customers=less profits for movie theaters=higher ticket cost=fewer being able to afford fare=rut. How many times do I have to say this? PIRACY DOESN'T NEGATIVELY AFFECT SALES. The small loss of people who would normally see something that instead pirate it is offset by the people who normally wouldn't see something, but now want to because they pirated it.
  9. You might be thinking of Punji sticks in a trap.

You can have multiple OS's on the same hard drive. You just need to install them on separate partitions. But you don't need to worry about that, I'm sure you can get Oblivion to work on a 64 bit OS. When you get OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) make sure you get the 64 bit version if there is one.
  11. Which may have been why I mentioned it on the first page, and two other people already quoted agreeing with me.
  12. I've been waiting for this one for a while. Bill Murray, Emma Stone and Amber Heard are enough for me, even if it wasn't something I would normally watch. But since it is, lets hope it is great.
  13. It wouldn't be white, white is what our eyes perceive as all the different wavelengths of light combined together, so if it is white that would mean there is a source of light. Black would mean the absence of light. Atheists don't kill themselves with these questions. We know there is nothing supernatural in this world (there are things that we don't quite understand yet), so that when we die nothing happens. We just simply cease to be conscious.
  14. No, I'll have fun watching movies from talented filmmakers who are passionate about making movies, regardless of what kind of budget they have and what kind of money it makes. If movies stop making as much money because of piracy (which is not the case, piracy doesn't affect movie sales at all) the only difference is we will see less big budget movies to safe franchises. I'm somewhat bemused at people working without pay. Actors are not the only thing that goes into a film, especially quality films where money surpasses nine digits. Soon after, the theaters close which results in a slight decline in local revenue and job positions. I can assure you that piracy does have an impact on both live films and physical media. Why pay when you can watch it for free in the comforts of your home? But the argument doesn't hold up, because people still pay. The ones who aren't paying probably wouldn't anyways. There are also a number of people like me who pirate, then pay for the good stuff. Piracy hasn't hurt sales at all, and in some cases actually helps. Where pirated versions are better than the legal counterparts (for example TV shows, they are high quality and no commercials) traditional numbers have gone down, but DVD sales are even higher. Piracy doesn't hurt the movies or music industry, and it just hurts the advertising part of the TV industry (but DVD sales make up for that), so it isn't causing job loss. And the reason theaters are shutting down most likely is because it costs $6 to see a matinee movie (not bad) but if you want to eat and drink something it is $6 more at least. They charge exorbitant prices for everything.
  15. A few people like that give Americans a bad name, and it might just be because they are more vocal on the Internet that everyone thinks Americans are like that. I still don't think bringing up the US relations to this situation as being "US centric" in this thread. There are valid causes for mentioning the US in relation to the Iran possible revolution. The people in the street aren't chanting for Nicolas Sarkozy or Chancellor Merkel, they are chanting for Obama to "give them their freedom". There is a reason for this, even though wars have pretty much bankrupt the US it still has one of the best military in the world, and a possibility of intervention. Of course as mentioned before, there are reasons why we shouldn't, and wont (hopefully). Does anyone know if Google is going to change their logo?

  18. People bring up the US because it is the most likely to interfere militarily in other countries' business (for good or bad). Also the US is at "war" (did congress ever actually declare war?) with Afghanistan directly to the east of Iran and at Iraq directly to the west.
  19. At best when a movie comes out in theaters you can get a DVDSCR. They are usually basically DVD quality, but often have watermarks or timestamps. If you see something that is better than a CAM it is usually a TELECINE or TELESYNC, and neither are all that great of quality. Some movies you really should see in the theater to get the full experience (Cloverfield comes to mind), but if that's not possible it's not too hard to wait for the DVD (or DVDrip if you are going to pirate).
  20. Hmm, I guess I am to blame for the rules argument. I was just seeing the OP add every movie that someone posted to his list, and the list was going to go past 100 pretty quickly. So I thought there should be some sort of way of deciding which ones to put that would allow everyone's movies to be on the list. We would have to clearly state what kind of list we are going for though. Movies to see before you die, or your favourite movies. Many would overlap, and the more popular movies would probably bump all the ones that you really should see before you die, but there is no way around that. The only thing I could think of is having each person allowed a certain amount that they can guarantee go on the list, then the rest of the list could be by popularity.
  21. If that actually happened it would be pretty funny.
  22. CAMS are horrible. Most of those streaming sites use something like flash anyways which makes it even more horrible. . Tell that to Wolverine. It wasn't all that great, everyone who watched it early said it wasn't great, and it still earned $158 million worldwide opening weekend, enough to cover the $150 cost of production.

2010 release I believe. Honestly, I hope the PS3 version is not half-assed and full of bugs and glitches. I believe the PS3 version is actually the best one as it has shorter load times... Playing an Elder Scrolls game on anything but a PC is blasphemy.
  24. I pirate music, as well as a lot of other stuff. I justify it by buying stuff I really like. I know it isn't morally right, but looking at all the movie I have purchased blind just because I liked something else that particular director/writer/actor did that I had downloaded I don't feel bad about doing it.
  25. No, the people of 4chan are just getting their info from the same place I am, Fark.com, a site that is usually sort of like Reddit or digg, but with a little more of a loyal community. Fark.com's everyday business is to link to news articles from credible sources and discuss them. Well, with no major news sites covering this, the roles have been reversed. Over thirty thousand members of Fark have devoted extraordinary time and effort into sorting through the thousands of rumors and twitters and youtube videos and everything they find of info they post in the threads. CNN, NPR, NBC, and CBC correspondants then report the news on live TV... often quoting directly from Fark. This is quite insane, Fark is a site that links news articles and talks about them... not the other way around #-o Its truly outstanding, they match 4chan in terms of impact on this world event, but fark is 1/100th the size of 4chan. Latest Fark thread on this issue: Don't bother reading it all, every time you refresh the page another 40 posts appear. Once the thread hits 1500 posts they make a new thread. They are on thread number 15 right now... I actually first heard about 4chan described as the place fark gets all it's funny pictures from. This was back in 2001-2003. Just thought that was an interesting coincidence :) . While I will agree fark is an interesting place to get information, they frequently confuse me about their message. They like to complain about standard mass media news, and Drew Curtis even wrote a book about it. Then they will do the exact thing they are complaining about. They will have sensationalist headlines, report about non-issues (usually something taken out of context that a celebrity said), have generic seasonal topics (weather related usually) and other things. Still I visit fark and digg everyday, usually every time I open up my browser.
