  1. Yeah, saw this over a week ago and then again a few days ago when it was on Digg. That is probably why the traffic is so high. Haven't found a time when I needed to use it yet, but a few sample searches looked interesting.
  2. Why can you only trade in 10 movies? It seems like the store would want more cheap movies, especially if they are for store credit. I recently bought "Dune" and "Children of Dune" TV miniseries. Pretty good, I don't see why everyone thinks the Dune miniseries is extraordinarily better than the 1984 David Lynch Dune though. A common complaint about the movie is the horrible looking vacuum tubes that are supposed to be worms, but the miniseries also has horrible effects. The story is what matters though.
  3. Why is everyone saying this is unexpected? Iron Man came out about a year ago and it was common knowledge then that he was going to be working on Sherlocke Holmes before a sequel to Iron Man came out.
  4. True, but I didn't even like Oblivion as much as some other games. I just keep it in my sig because I have had it there so long (probably a year before it came out). I never claimed to not be a fanboy, just didn't want this topic to devolve into that. EDIT: I am a PC fanboy. I know one person with a 360 and Wii, and one person with just a Wii. All the other people I hang out with are older and don't really play video games at all. Although one does like to get out the N64 every now and then for nostalgia (some GoldenEye at 3:00 in the morning after drinking since 7:00 is awesome). The one person with the 360 was the only reason for me to not automatically get a PS3. Like I said earlier, getting a console is pretty much just about one game and it being a media center. Thanks for the link! I should have known to check AfterDawn right away, don't know why I didn't think of it.

I'll admit the finale was pretty interesting, maybe the show will turn around next season. Still don't think it's all that great though.
  6. Thanks for the help everyone, if someone with a PS3 happens to know how well I can stream .mkv files to it that would be awesome. I mostly play games on my PC since I like customization. I am getting a new console solely for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, which will probably be the only game I get for a while. When there are tons of cheap games I might start getting those. FPS are completely irrelevant in my choice of system since I don't like playing them with a controller. The choice was only hard because the PS3 has Blu-Ray, but the 360 is cheaper and I could play it online with my cousin up at Purdue. Blu-Ray would edge out over cheaper and online play with my cousin only a little, but $50 a year means the cheaper part is gone after 2 years. If the PS3 can't get video streams from a PC though then my choice will be tough again, I really want to separate my computer from my entertainment system.
  7. And yet you still decided to say it has far superior online, and better exclusives. How can you make that assumption without playing both? I just don't want any fanboy stuff in here, and that is what you were doing.
  8. Yeah that didn't sound objective at all. There is no reason to try and sell me a console. You don't win anything by it. Microsoft won't pay you anything. Thanks for your help guys! Since the only difference between 80gb and 160gb PS3 is hard disk drive space there's no reason to spend $100 extra for just 80 more gigs.
  9. Breaking necks/cutting throats might work, but I don't think so. Still think it is best to burn all bodies as soon as possible, they definitely aren't coming back from that.
  10. I don't really use my Wii anymore, so I want to sell it and get either a PS3 or 360. However I don't know which one yet, and I have a few questions to help decide. How much can I sell my Wii for, and where would be the best place to do this? Can I trade it in at Gamestop or Gamerush and get a decent amount, or will they screw me over? What's the difference between the 80gb and 160gb PS3? If I buy a new 360 now, do I have to worry about the RRoD anymore? Would buying a used one be ok for either console? I prefer to buy new, but used would be cheaper. Don't want to buy used though if I have to worry about drives breaking, console overheating or other random problems. What are the media streaming capabilities of the PS3 and 360? Can either handle streaming 720p .mkv files from a PC on a home network? Do I have to pay to get 360 online capabilities? The main reason to get a 360 for me is being able to play with a friend that is away at college. I know there is a silver membership and gold membership, but not sure what exactly they entail. Are there any planned price drops coming up soon that I should wait for before buying either one? I heard a rumor about a new PS3 at E3 so I will probably wait until then anyhow. What are the backwards compatibility of each console? This isn't a huge issue for me, I never had a PS2 and already have an original PS, and the main games I might like for X-Box I got on PC. Thanks! Try to reply objectively, you won't get anything for "selling" me your favourite console.
  11. If they are regular zombies killing an normal human being through the heart/with poison would be wasteful, they would come back and you would have to destroy their brain. During those circumstances the best thing to do is cremate the body right away.
  12. I doubt it, he seemed pretty surprised when Ben told him about that. I agree that Locke, as much as I don't want him to be dead, is probably dead and never did come back to life. And now that I think about it, I doubt the nuke went off. I pretty much discard the notion that anything they did was an actual change, and since the Swan wasn't in the middle of a nuclear wasteland it's very probable that the magnetic energy was released before Juliet managed to detonate the bomb. Which could potentially save her (and everyone else) if it does something wacky like it did in season 2. Ahh, I just said 1600s because someone above did. I knew they were looking at the Black Rock out on the ocean but couldn't remember what era it was. Forgot about fake Locke not knowing the Ben's daughter told him to do whatever, does that mean the island itself wanted Jacob dead? It would have to know that Locke wasn't Locke. Where do these dead people come from, that aren't really who they are but have some/all of their memories? I mentioned the magic box that grants whatever a person needs most before, but now I am vaguely remembering someone saying that was just a metaphor. I'm leaning more towards the nuke didn't go off also, or some crazy thing like it went off and the anomaly absorbed all the energy. Either way hopefully the Island used that energy to put everyone back in the correct point in time, and didn't change anything in the future that was their past. Faraday at first had the explanation that nothing can be changed, whatever was done was always done. Then he changed that and said that Desmond wasn't bound by that law, but everyone/thing else was. Since Desmond hasn't had any part in the nuke situation hopefully everything happened exactly as it always did, and when we start season 6 I am not worrying about time travel paradoxes all the time.

If that was a requirement listed in the lease, yes.
  14. Other 1600s guy just used Locke's image to get Richard to take him to Jacob, and while he knew where Jacob was he needed Ben to come along too in order to kill Jacob. He probably also caused Ben to see his daughter and tell him do what Locke says. We have seen dead people on the island before, Jack's dad, Locke's dad, they appear to have the memories of the people they represent. Other 1600s guy probably just got a Locke out of the box that gives you whatever you want and then transferred his consciousness into it. We got some big questions needing to be answered in this finale season. We have a new group of people who also appear to be Others but came from the regular world. The nuke went off as far as we can tell, but we don't know if that was the Incident or if it stopped the Incident. If it did change the future then that would be the end of the show, so I think we can assume that it was the Incident. It's also possible the energy stored there broke out at that finale moment and destroyed the bomb without setting it off, and the flash we saw was simply some of it escaping. We still don't know exactly who the Others are, and we don't know exactly what happened to Dharma after it was destroyed and the Others took over. Looking back a few seasons, an airdrop was called in and Dharma sent fresh food to the Island. This was long after Ben killed everyone. It will be an interesting final season.
  15. I knew the rust part but couldn't remember what else off the top of my head, except for needing something hotter than matches to light it.
  16. Will there be enough supplies to make thermite and be able to use it effectively? The delivery would be hard since it would burn through any container when you light it. I could see it working ok in areas where you can prepare it above the zombies head, wouldn't take much to burn through their skull and a decent amount of brain.
  17. If she is your legal guardian then yes, she can stop you from driving. Whether or not you own the truck is irrelevant.
  18. If there are enough zombies out there to where a chain link fence isn't going to be holding them back then you should be more worried about moving than making a stronger wall. There are only going to be a very, very small amount of situations in which a solid wall that they can't see through is going to be more useful than one they can see through. Most of the time it won't matter, it just takes one to bring the rest and there is a good chance they will know you are there. As for entering and leaving an area a chain link fence wouldn't be any worse than a regular wall. If there are enough zombies to completely cover all sides then you have to clear a pathway through them either way. You can also draw them to one side with either wall also.
  19. http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/tip.it Yeah, not as popular as I thought.
  20. Chain link fences could be great, as long as they are put together very well. Lets say 10 feet tall, many anchor posts set in concrete rather than just in the ground, good bonding between pieces (overlap a decent amount, doesn't matter what it looks like). That could hold back zombies 5 or 6 deep around the entire perimeter pretty well. Then you can leave them there if you don't want to waste the ammo, but if you have a lot you can shoot them. Or for target practice for survivors not trained with guns.
  21. I don't think Tip.it is too unpopular, it seems pretty big.
  22. Car bombs would work better if we had Fallout 3 cars. Well even if they don't work better they would look cooler.
  23. I don't think it would be the best method, plus we'd all feel a little guilty about it. Car bombs are a decent idea I guess, though we'd have to be really careful, one bomb could attract an even bigger horde. Why would you feel guilty about that? After a large zombie apocalypse there will be tons of previously domesticated animals that won't survive long out in the wild, you could use any number of those without feeling guilty. They would die anyways, from something bigger eating them or starvation. I wouldn't feel guilty with using any animal though, they are animals and this is about survival.
  24. People seriously believe demons possess people still? What is this the dark ages?
  25. Yep next Season is the last one  Why so sad? A clear ending point has helped the series a lot. Season 3 Episode 9 was on a list of the creators most important episodes specifically because it was disliked so immensely they realized they needed to set an end date in order to keep the rest of the episodes interesting and not have any more filler. They had a whole episode about a tattoo, and people just don't want that. So they decided on 3 more seasons after that season finished, and these last two seasons have been pretty solid the whole way through. I wasn't a fan of the time travel stuff in season 5 but that's just me.
