Intelligent people = 'less likely to believe in God'
The bible belt.. oh god. In this thread I would defend religion naturally, In any other thread however. I would attack religion in the bible belt. too much faith can be a bad thing. Especially if misguided. Sad isnt it? Err, what's wrong in the Bible Belt? People believe the same things as anywhere in the nation, [hide=]there's just more conservative worship. And since most of these communities are founded by people active in the church, there are old blue laws that aren't even enforced anymore. I've been living in the Bible Belt for five years now and I don't see people having "too much faith" with the exception of a few neo-contemporary Baptists who act a little silly in church. Emphasis on "in church" because while in church they may have their hands high in the air singing terrible music (I hate praise and worship, I grew up with hymns), outside of church they are just going back to their daily lives and not caring (with exceptions, of course). And that's just one church. The Catholics and Methodists and Southern Baptists here are tame and just normal Christians. It's not like we go on Sunday witch hunts or go protest outside of strip clubs or something. There's an alarming trend in these threads of making blanket statements, and it's coming from both sides of the table. Please stop. Saying that you are more intelligent then someone and then making blanket statements about a large group based solely on their religion is not...very intelligent.[/hide] dont get me wrong, i am a believer of god, but not a religious person. But i think too much religion can be dangerous. Honestly, remember the book burning because books were pornography? yeah, this get extreme sometimes. Things that get too concentrated just have negative effects. In all honestly, I believe people need to take religion a little less seriously. Since i dont know the reasoning behind some religious things. Well, good friday and we cant eat meat? to be honest, seems a bit extreme. Removed the last part of the post. Not needed~Lionheart_0

Oil and the Future
omfg, opels. Sadly, the cars which were considered gas crunch cars are now much more "car" in my opinion. I do recall some cars, of that same size sort of. the vega, chevette, OMFG PINTOS. And, the oldsmobile Omega, yeah tiny cars... of that era which were much more stylish then 80% of todays car's and had double the horse power and they were "economical" cars. 454s? wow, where do you live? lol, around here everyone is 350 crazy, omfg, hey thats a get mustang, lets put a 350 in it, oh sweet god, thats a nice buick/olds/pontiac. lets just put a 350 in it. My friend has a "racecar" thats a Vega, the yeaa eludes me, but it has a 350 in it. yes its a "panel wagon" vega... the grossest thing invented. anyway, this thread has gone far off topic when you know we start discussing classic cars over the future of oil... But man, they just didnt make good cars. Look at the crystler(i think?) javelin.

flying, which would you prefer?
super man does not have to hold his arms off, even if he did. that shouldnt be a huge problem. but, alot of times he can be depicted as levitating without it. Such as one of the super man movies he lifts louis up without her noticing. In smallville he wakes up flying a few times. aww, accidental double post.

Screw clothes, if I had huge wings I'd go naked. lol, I imagine some people would use this to be an imposing force of rape... but whatever. his name is angel, later changed to arch-angel. he had them folded and strapped with leather, they looked more like a very small back pack the way he had them folded. Which is more conveinent the the big draped down to your feet look. but, I would totally use those wings like him Jump out of/off buildings.

Intelligent people = 'less likely to believe in God'
this subject is clearly touchy. personal i view alot of young atheist's and doing it to look cool. like "aw dude i threw my religion away to be unique." My friend ryan is a BIG example of this. perhaps he warped my view on other atheist's as being atheist simply for the shock value. He is your typical goth kid(22 years old) who is a democrat. And has an entirely skewed perspective on MOST things. Good guy and all, but not exactly... uh, i dont know how to explain him well. Perhaps, naive but hes not either. nice guy, great guy really. I avoid listening to his opinions on serious subject such as religion and human rights. I believe in, a super being like "god" well, i hope their is. I couldn't ever say if it was real. Just hope. I find evolution to be a great theory. And is most likely true. And i really dont think that all species were created by a being. Maybe the primordial ooze was created by god? maybe the universe was created by god or whatever. Who knows, whatever. Not exactly my biggest concern. oh [cabbage], dont even start that stuff up about her. She said something about someone who was black had DNA memories of slavery. or something, feel free to correct me as it was ridiculous and want to know she exactly said.

Oil and the Future
Because while European countries were slowly doing their best to wean themselves off of oil, America was burying its head in the sand and insisting that it was every American's right to buy a SUV. am i the only person who see's this post as being completely irrelevant? most people dont want to buy the big SUV's with their SUPER GAS EATING V6'S yes, most are v6's. Even the v8's are a shell of their former self. your lucky if you can buy a 350 cubic inch motor for a chevy product outside of the new corvette with the 502. And, other then the 302 for the mustang, I think trucks are the closest thing to having a big motor. Not to mention, you have to order the 302 most likely or buy the mustang GT to get the V8. Oh, yes even tho i was not born in the 70's or earlier, i know all about the "gas crunch" in the 70's. Cars them selves did not get much smaller, they stayed relatively the same honestly. I would say take a look at your average Cadillac/lincoln but thats not fair at all, they were always big cars. compare the first generation camaro(67-69) to the 2nd generation(70-81) they only got bigger and heavier with weaker motors. chevelle, el camino, buick. I dont think the phyiscally changed much. Motors were toned down heavily. Your average motor from the factory(chevy) was either a 302small block, 350small block, 427 big block and 454big block. then it adapted to, 327, 350, 400 small blocks. And slowly the 427's and 454's were just removed from the car's that were sent to dealer ships. Your average horse power went from the general 300-400+ area to 200-300ish. The 69 chevelle came out with nearly 500 horse power. And the Hemi motor of that era was closer to a horse power rating of 600. point is, we are to the point reducing cylinders and removing cubic inches and lowering the horse power. JUST DOES NOT CUT IT anymore. if you want to know me personally, I dont complain about gas prices they concern me, but I do not voice my opinion about them being to high. The nearest I recall to complaining was "i remember when gas never went over 129 for 5 years" I drive a V8 Cadillac like a 4.3 litre motor which off the top of my head is about 250ish cubic inches. Heres another tid bit, I do not have a job. My parents dont hand me weekly money for gas(my dad gave me $40 a month ago fro gas, first time since i was like 18), no one does. Ill leave it at, i manage my money well. also, my idea for cars that I can thought of long ago much before its creation was the segway, but incased in metal for safety at high speeds/crashes. New update agaisnt people with less rl money
Because you're pulling vague comparisons out of your [wagon] with no purpose other than whining. By your logic, Jagex should pull membership, because that gives people with 5 extra dollars a month an unfair advantage. Oh and shut the game down, you have an advantage because you can afford a computer with an internet connection, Jagex is obviously biased towards people with internet connections and computers. And the graphics? Pull them, MS-DOS can't handle those graphics. Sounds? Those too, they can't be made through the motherboard. And vector graphics. If Jagex wants to appeal to all computer owners, Runescape will have to be in vector graphics so the Commodore 64 owners can play too. Also I'm going to need them to give instant 99's and all items and weapons, some of us don't have enough time to do this "grinding". Time = Money, which means money = time. this is honestly the nicest way to say it anyway, this is just as bad as saying jagex is racist for bot blocking the word slaves. like the other day, on the fishing trawler someone kept saying, work harder slaves. I pointed out that, it might be offensive to people of a black/african race. the link that you think you find between one item to the next is... non existent. In all reality, when you had the title "why not just allow RWT" this topic should have been locked as, misleading title/shock value title/completely nothing about the topic, except for YOUR conclusion that its similar to RWT or whatever the hell you think.

flying, which would you prefer?
Choice one: superman style levitation? Choice two: wings Wings types consist of: "angel" type, large feathered bird wings, each wing is probably as tall as you are. Can fold. Demon, bat, pterodactyl: leathery wings thin and thus, show your veins/aterries. Most likely similarly sized as angel wings, perhaps smaller. Also can fold Fairy, dragonfly: extremely thin, Unlikely to fold at all. 2-4 wings, typically smaller then the angel/demon wings COLORS Various, black, white, red, blue. typical colors as such. Some suggest fiery wings. WINGS PRO: wingspan, large wings. Very powerful most likely. I would use my wings to stretch out in a theater. Or something like that. Also, they seem more dramatic. CON: tiring, difficult, awkward. Imagine finding clothes for your wings? Levitation Limits: unknown, however possible. no awkwardness like wings, clothing would be very much the same. Holding the arms out like superman does, Not required. possible "sleep" flying. opinions?

Oil and the Future
oh please... also, on the note of public transit. Its not a viable option for most. It is a joke honestly. The idea of public transport is more like a myth in my town, as the closest thing to it is simply a bus to school and back. theirs always going to be some people out their willing to drive those cars. Not just drive them, but enjoy them. Infact theirs alot of people who still buy lead additives for their gasoline so their cars run similarly to what they did when they were designed. to run via leaded gas.

I use dial up. I could afford broad band but, lets say my parents are against it in its current form... yeah its a bunch of [cabbage] ive complained about for 2 years. better connection makes easier BH? not really, not so much. I can typically react to a monster spawning then another player can. And we really all know broad band is the majority for these kinds of games. But still, I find either my connection is nearly as good with a game that demands little internet connectivity, OR i can react better then some people. Perhaps it is a bit of both, but honestly saying something like, because someone is bad at reacting is bad for BH. But why is it always for just bh? laser mouse, hardly an advantage. I have had TWO of them, I traded them to a friend for a ball mouse because he bought some computer from a local store that sold their products with the cheapest products available unless they were upgraded. A ball mouse is much better if you know how to use it. Well, at least it should be a big difference. People buy members with real life money - self explanitory i find alot of people goto f2p to play BH because its better for them. I dont pretend to care why they go, or why they dislike members BH but. whatever. TBH, it seems more fair in f2p for a flawed minigame. Ironic, because you're a [bleep] idiot. a lil harsh, but kind of agree. super computer? your typical off the shelf walmart computer will handle this for $300-400. My computer thats like 4 years old... Can most likely handle these new graphics. And when i play Halo PC, i can't even load colors to the spartan character models. Thats how bad my graphics/video card is.

Oil and the Future
so many things i could say, but i am tired. I guess i will limit it to why are you talking? this a serious discussion that is not based on one nation especially since its a world wide product and "issue" My point is that Europe has survived on higher 'gas' prices than America has now for the last 10 years. So your economy (or that of the world) isn't going to collapse overnight because of it. Although people in the UK do complain about high prices, from my experience it has been predominantly Americans that have been predicting an apocalypse because of it. What will happen in the future? Travel will cost more for the next decade, and other items that need oil. Eventually because of the high price someone will come up with an alternative. I think that since Europe has been slowly artificially raising the price of 'gas' in the last decade, that Europe will be better positioned to deal with this. I hope that the eventual solutions come from outside America, and that America ends up paying a high price for its myopia. (Yes, this was a "you should have seen it coming when you elected an oil tycoon for a President, twice" post) Edit: Concerning what the solution is, I think that predicting future technology is a foolish endeavour, other than to say that it is probably something that none of us would ever have predicted. Edit2: It amuses me when people blame speculators for the high price of oil, as if speculators are collectively carrying out some kind of clever scheme to screw everyone over. If a speculator comes along and pays $150 for a barrel of oil in 1 year, and then it goes down to $70, he loses a load of money, so they don't just do it for fun. Speculation is just what people predict the price will be. welcome to the gore foundation. please, what does that have to do with anything these spectators you refer to. do you mean, investors of oil futures? if so, they actually do cause and inflation in prices.

Oil and the Future
so many things i could say, but i am tired. I guess i will limit it to why are you talking? this a serious discussion that is not based on one nation especially since its a world wide product and "issue" It's a fair point though that petrol prices in the UK are much higher than in the US, and since we have a lower disposable income on average than Americans rising oil prices hurt us more, and is more likely to push the UK into any kind of recession than the US at a simplistic level. even so, I do believe these forums are for serious discussion, and thusly I view his opinion as spam, or i could. Its not what he said, more how he said it. But, fact is, like i said previously. its a world wide issue. Bring up any idea of nation with this topic might be, off topic or simply spam. Especially one which is negative and clearly going to attract responses which will further go off topic and cause a huge "hurr hurr u got troll'd" bunch of crap. E85 in Venezuela is much more practical then here in america in some ways. down their I do believe they use sugar cane, (not sure, on the numbers so, check into if you like) Sugar cane is possibly 10 times more efficient then corn. Because all of the sugar cane is used, were in corn its only the stalk. also I think wheat grass or "prarie/field" grass. I forget its name, but its the typical long grass you see in my state, that is actually capable of producing like some ungodly amount of E85 if we were to harvest and refine it.

Zombie Plans-Revised
zombies dont need to breathe, so they could travel underwater. Theoretically. also, havent you guys seen that movie where their was an antarctic zombie? blood was like -55 degree's F before he stopped movie, when he thawed started his rampage again. It takes a while for the blood to coagulate, but he being dead is a big disadvantage to. Let's just say they had to use the buildings to their advantage and the warmth from the buildings that he would walk to would void any coldness while he was in the snow and stuff.

Does runescape have an elitist community?
Tbh, IRC is good. But you know aim/yahoo/msn is probably another realistic option. personally i dont like IRC, so thats my opinion on that slightly. Ventrillo and team speak are also very viable alternatives. and yeah, we have had our share of people you guys remember frogmite? He was an interesting guy, and we have a few here left from his era, xpx and trixstar are a few of the upper level players here of quality caliber.

Summoning looked down upon?
wow, first of all. Some people in this thread are just obviously trolling or have no idea whats going on in the game. 2, summoning is good for alot of things, take the bunyip for the only example i am going to make. Better then guthans. last i checked 7.3mil, You could spend like half of that(even less now) getting level 68. only downside about bunyip? 40hp. But its a defensive role, so i only see them being killed in CW if someone does bring it. I am sure they get attacked else where by NPC's, but i have no idea where.

That kid that went to your school.
hands down, greatest thing i have read in this thread. You have spammier posts than me most of the time, why don't you just [bleep] off already. please, for god sakes. Try saving your self by talking less. 3 nested quote thing is gay. I was probably one of "those kids" I was friends with some people, and would be cool with most. I have gotten a little more mature, especially when not around my closest friends. Seriously, I went to school with some people, some things happened such as Kal, he died. Something about a car crash and he had his skull crushed or drowned in a ditch because a car pinned him down, I dont know the details. Kody, his closer friend both of them on the football team, was driving that car I havent seen him in a long time. I heard he was being charged with something for this stuff. He also took a vaction when he was like 7 years old, his dad drowned. He apparently tried to save his father and the Jamiacan police thought he drowned him ^^all that about kody is hear say. But thats what i was lead to believe. Trina, was a really nice girl. She was probably one of the girls who could be one of the guys. Its a shame she was a boarder line drug addict. And she knew it, because I recall her telling me how she tried to get her cousin of meth once, and said you only do it like once every couple weeks not every day. She was nice, I do hope she is doing good now. theirs other people I could say. But, Their is another person I wont talk to much about. Lets just say they "got around" a bit. Not a person that you would want to know.

the boy scouts and atheists/agnostics/deists/homoseuals
i think this thread is over rated, i cant believe people get so opinionatedly rude over topics like this. And its not even the topic's fault, its the poster's faults that it gets out of hand... like yoda, you seem to take a retro active "nuke anything" mentality on anyone who does not agree with you. Which is devastating to topics usually, in the form of quick burn then they are out.

Scientists find bugs that eat waste and excrete petrol
I.E posting in all caps or irritating font color. 2. You could have gas prices a lot worse, if you're already on a tight budget there is many solutions to it I.E car-pooling or public transport. Now that I have been told by a mod, I will not use that color Second, Where I live public transportation is not an option, and no one lives near me to carpool with. Those options are not available to all people. That's something you would have to think about as well. exactly, politicians always think that public transport is a viable option for the majority of americans. for example, a law was being voted on(i heard it passed), that illinois's new drivers could not drive past i think 9 o'clock. edit: forgot to add, whats the point of not being able to drive during 9-6am? the ideas is that new drivers cant handle night driving, until i believe they were 18. As a Illinois State trooper told our driving class, how do people go on dates and such? the problem, these people who either passed it or voted on it live in CHICAGO. bus's, trains, cabs... and most the time everything you need is in walking distance. anyway, i heard this passed, and that new drivers (after my class) had to obey this law, except laws in my town are RARELY enforced. especially such new and ridiculous ones. and, carpooling is very realistic for alot of people. A good but, flawed idea. also this talk about clean energy to, no one has said anything about the Japanese car which, supposedly runs on water. and the al gore thing, no mystery their that he, might care about the environment. But, fact is he sure isn't a "starving artist" because of it and thats not a fat joke either.

A child of the 90's, this is what shaped my world.(few pics)
street sharks it was good, it was obvious a low budget movie. but, still had a point behind it. and keenan and kel was a GREAT tv show.
