[Update] Prifddinas - Lost City of the Elves
Just want to add for everyone, if you have a steel titan then use it. Bring a couple summoning pots to renew its spec. Its special helped me cut through td's pretty quick by making them repeatedly switch to protect from range so I could just keep hitting them with magic. Worked out better for me because I'm really clumsy with weapon switches. Also, use a scrimshaw of the elements if you can.

Recent trend to include PvM into Comp Cape, i.e. Rush of Blood [Split]
There is no contradiction between supporting a charity for disabled people with the aim of helping them, and not watering down your game to cater to people who are a statistical minority and unusual. That's like saying an Engineering Company who supports charities for disable people had better lower their standards and requirements so people with disabilities can more easily become engineers. Lives depend upon engineers correctly doing their jobs, none depend upon comp capers being able to do high tier pvm

I really like the idea of them re-releasing the cosmetic items in Vic's shop, too bad I already have them all.

I feel like whether they decide to take disabilities into consideration with the reqs (I still think they should as best they can) they still need to get it all together. Come up with a logical document outlining what types of reqs should be trim and what types should be regular. They're throwing titles wherever atm, bosses are being moved around, and I think this would all work out better if people knew when they were going for a cape what types of challenges they could be expecting in the future. I think an issue is that until pretty recently there seemed to be some internal logic to it all. Recently, the reqs seem semi-random which has lead to a lot of disagreement on which reqs should be where. Just as an example to show that Jagex doesn't really seem sure, this req that they're planning to change had no araxxi in dev documents and it was still introduced as a trim req. Then they release with a more difficult boss and put it on the lower cape. Yes, more reqs will be added, but there should be some consistent logic where players can see exactly why each req went on a certain cape and right now there isn't.

Again, that is a terrible metric for game design. There is always going to be content people who are disabled can't do. Yes, but they can make the rewards for that content cosmetic like trimmed comp, or pets, or titles, etc. They don't need to use that content to cut off top end items. You can't avoid making content that some can't do, you can limit that contents effect.

I find the topic of people with disabilities playing the game is particularly topical to Runescape, since one of the charities when they opened the Well of Goodwill was SpecialEffect, a charity designed around helping the disabled to play games. http://services.runescape.com/m=news/well-of-goodwill If Jagex really wants the disabled to be able to play games, then they shouldn't cut them off from the top content.

Its not like Combat isn't already rewarding without the comp reqs, arguably too rewarding. Combat already gives the best money in game short of merching. It has its own cosmetic titles, outfit, pets, kiln and fire capes. Comp cape is too useful to cut people off from it for things beyond their control like poor reflexes, phobias, or more deliberative and less twitchy thinking. Thats why the high level PvM should be on trim where its a cosmetic upgrade and not cutting them off from useful content. Instead of forcing them to switch to lesser capes for everything. As a friend of mine put it, a major issue with these reqs in both soul reaper and now rush of blood/morvran's challenge is that they are changing the basics of what the capes were about to many people. Comp Cape was the marathon. Some people are faster, some are slower, but everyone could get there eventually if they kept chugging along. It wasn't about "skill", it was about dedication. Just put in the effort and you were guaranteed to get it. Comp Trim was the decathlon. Put whatever insane reqs on it you wanted and for the most part people accepted it (I still think the CW req should be removed, but whatever). It involved the high level bosses, the crazy stuff like 4k chompy kills, anything that required more than just some effort, or required incredible patience for little rewards (4k chompy kills with nothing to show for it but a hat). Now they've decided that a bit of effort isn't enough. You need to have the reflexes, less lag, and ability to use the PvM system that they just provided an alternative for. there's no real consistency anymore in where they put requirements. Before you could kind of see some rationale to what went onto trim and what was regular. Now it seems to be whichever they feel like at the time. did get my trim back tonight though, so happy about that.

Placing a brick wall in your way when you've already earned something can take away your enjoyment. They had much more logic to what was trim and what was regular before. By breaking that they did cause issues. Some people cannot do high tier pvm whether you choose to believe it or not. I'm glad you can but that doesn't apply to everyone. Yes, there are cases where practice helps, there are others where it doesn't

There are some mental issues that would prevent doing these reqs. Severe Arachnophobia, some people don't mentally process quick enough to switch prayers and avoid stuff like cleaves, etc. Boredom isn't a mental issue, it just means you don't like the content

I can't max most skills because they bore me to suicide... should I be exempt from them so I can get the completionist's cape? :o I don't have the 'skills' to get completionist's! Get it? Wooooooooooo I crack myself up. Bored is different than actually impossible for you to do.

The basic issue could be is that some players that couldn't solo araxxor, go the kill with a duo. Even though a duo is generally harder, the only thing they would need to focus on is staying alive which might help some of them. This challenge is solo only though. Personally, I don't think Araxxor, Rots and Rago should have been added to comp at all, but there is that. Rush of Blood comp req should probably have been to impress him on any difficulty, then highest for trim. Gonna keep arguing for changes to Rush req, although I did manage to get it done after around an hour and a half last night. Should hopefully have my trim back tonight after Araxxi tunnels switch.

[Update] Prifddinas - Lost City of the Elves
Stupendous title has been discovered. Make a stew in Prifddinas while wielding a mud pie. Mod Stu kept saying the key to the title was all in the name, apparently it wasn't in the name of the title but in his name Mod Stu (Mud Stew)

Soul Reaper
Araxxi was hitting a lot harder and more accurate before they fixed the acid. Now with the acid fixed (at least for the first kill of the day) as long as you lure the acid spiders onto araxxor in phase 3 then you can soul split.
-
Soul Reaper
Lure the spiders onto Araxxor near the end of phase 3. Doing this makes him a lot less accurate. After the fix I was able to just soul split Araxxi instead of trying to prayer switch which always kept messing me up. Just wear your best range gear, turn on protect from range for a second in the beginning to make araxxi mage, then soul split the rest of the way through.

I agree it takes away something, I just think the thing it takes away is frustration and annoyance. Then again, I'm not a big fan of bossing, so the emotions that come to mind for me are not going to be the ones that come to mind for others.

I disagree with Jad/Har-Aken. Both are in safe areas. Har-Aken is actually really easy; it doesn't need practice at all. They may be in safe areas, but it still takes like 30 minutes to get to them. Then if you fail you gotta go all the way back. With gravestones now, the time penalty for jad might actually be a worse penalty than dying to other bosses.

Future Update Discussions
I think practice mode should give the player all supplies, but the only thing that could be gained from it should be knowledge. So practice mode should allow your character to use armours and weapons they don't currently own, so a player who is struggling could see if it would be worth it to get better gear or if they just haven't learned well enough yet to kill it either way. It would also supply all pots/food/portents/etc that a player could use for battle. The downside would be that nothing could be gained from playing this...no comp req, no kill timer (so ya can't just use this mode to get a faster boss kill time for bragging rights), no drops, no exp. They mentioned people were doing this on the beta, well make it like the eoc betas, everything could be obtained for free, but nothing permanent could be gained from it.

Same & it's stopping me qh'ing as I can't change screen when I re-log into combat areas I've been able to fix the camera glitch by pressing the little padlock icon to unlock and then relock my interfaces. Well, temporarily fix, it returns the next time I log in.
