Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
Sorry but I was referring to gay men failing to identify with their same sex parent during the phallic stage of developing identity (just before conscience develops) in which you wouldn't personally know unless your parents or someone you knew could tell you how you identified with that parent. (I was referring to an earlier post I made; perhaps I should have been much clearer). And to relate to your story my ex boyfriends brother is gay, raised by an over conservative family also of two parents. Like every other gay person I know, failed to identify with his father during developing identity. By the way nothing has been proven scientifically that there is a "gay gene" not to say that there possibly couldn't be. Just repeating what I learnt in 2007 biology, feel free to prove me wrong if you must but go by database sources or at least .gov or .edu sources not wiki please... The only thing that seems to work in changing behaviour is cognitive therapy, in which only teaches gay men how to act straight but not be straight. I'm not claiming to be an expert on homosexuals but it might be interesting to find out the aforementioned information I gave you for future reference or further understanding? If you can answer my question or can find out the answer to my question to add to statistics, it would be greatly appreciated.

"If you woke up one day as the opposite gender"
ROFL :XD: can relate to that. Supposed to be reading over biology/math notes and end up playing 2 hours of guitar heros, half an hour of forum posting, phone calls, text messaging, checking e-mail, distracted by MSN, cleaning duties, shower, dress etc and even though set the alarm for 8am find myself finally sitting down to study at 6pm at night.... :-# I do love to read your posts though, very much so :D

What are your opinions on teen pregnancy?
Sometimes kids can be born unexpectedly but if you ever call a kid an accident or tell them that they're an act of stupidity, I swear I will kick your arse myself.

What are your opinions on teen pregnancy?
I don't mean to spill my guts here but I don't mind; maybe it will be beneficial for people to know my story. I understand that some - most stories can be complete, utter bull sh*t, however, in all seriousness, sometimes there is honesty involved. My dad was on the street from 8/9 years old and has lived his dream for the past 30 years. I didn't even know who my father was until I was a teenager because he worked so hard for his dream and to put food in my mouth. I only remember saying goodnight and then goodnight again the next night for the next 13 years. My only memory to the age of 10 apart from that was a kiss to the forehead; and an, I love you sweet dreams and sometimes a quick bed time story. I remember all my birthdays though because dad made sure he had 13 days off each 13 years to be there for them. I never fully understood for the following 3 years why he never had the time to see me do a back flip on the trampoline just like a yellow power ranger or build a cubby house out of the linen cupboard blankets, why he didn't know who the samurai pizza cats were but somehow all the pictures I drew made it to the top of the refrigerator with "I'm proud of you, love daddy xo" made it there. However, is the best dad I could ever ask for? (And majority of the time he relies on my two brothers and I, to help him with spelling and grammar because he never had the opportunity to finish high school yet alone start it, he learnt everything he knew from reading dictionaries and encyclopaedias). I mean f*ck he raised three kids with no less than university level education and the youngest kid already owns a car and is investing for a house. He is someone who went from becoming a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Ånobody̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

What are your opinions on teen pregnancy?
Ahh sorry to be the insensitive b*tch here but cut the crap 'I could have done this' 'my mother could have done that' you can do anything you want, child or no child if you really want something bad enough. Using your kid as an escape goat for why you couldn't or didn't do something is a f*cking cop out. Sorry but I don't like people who use excuses... You can do anything and I stand by that. My dad was a street rat with a dream, I was born earlier than expected and he still did it. I have a mother of 6 children and another one on the way doing my uni course and she is in the top 5% of QLD. My motto: "No excuses".

"If you woke up one day as the opposite gender"
I believe if a woman really wants to earn some serious dough, she will find a way. I work and own a business so I don't see how other women can't too. I earn more than the males there and one day I hope to double my husbands salary. Why? coz I wear the pants  :P

What are your opinions on teen pregnancy?
I don't believe there should be abortion unless it's rape. But mind you I personally know people who have had abortions because they didn't want a kid and I just kept my mouth shut. My opinion or not, I still respect people making choices and certainly won't get in the way if they want to make that decision. Nor will I shove my opinion down their throat. Better change mantal to mental before you can have a decent argument :P

Would you ever get a Tattoo?
My tattoo is a giant peace sign, in the middle of it the burning eternal flame, inside the peace sign Indian dream catcher netting. Coming down from the symbol is the ankh (Egyptian sign for life) hanging from the symbol in chains on either side. Coming down from the life sign is a free butterfly coloured in yellow. Outside around the symbol are the words. "Peace. Love. Life" It's meaning to me -- Peace and love in life is how I live my life every day. The ankh in chains is to represent a quote "man is born free, but everywhere he is in chains" and the free flying butterfly is my best friend who passed away who has significantly changed my life. I'm not superstitious but when I went to his funeral a yellow butterfly followed me up the path and inside the building in front of the casket and landed on my nose. I thought that was a really cute symbol to remember him by. -- I'm actually in the process of getting 2 more done. One is a picture of two hands with a ball of light in the middle with a giant beautiful butterfly flying away. This represents another concept I believe called "let it go" which means to view things in life without the emotion attached to it and see it for what it is and accept it. -- The other being the shadow of a woman raising her hands in the air as if to say "I finally did it" around her are going to be the words Veni, vidi, vici. (I came, I saw, I conquered) because of my motivation/determination that gets me where I want to be, no distance shorter. ==== If you want to see the one I have and the ones I'm getting just pm me

It could work the other way as well I mean the guy could grow up to be extremely muscular, good looking, smart and loved by all the women and popular with the guys. I mean how sexy would it be "Oh superman.. hehe". Who knows :P

"If you woke up one day as the opposite gender"
Don't tempt me :XD: ... It's nearly time for new case studies to be handed out.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
I cited everything a few pages back, I merely put the cited sources in to a case study scenario, read. For someone who can put together more than 4 letter words, I was expecting at least a database source rather than wikipedia which is highly inaccurate at the best of times. Student and occupation. No you're right. Some are confused and some are just gay :D Psychology is based on science, go read the APA manual. It's not the early 1900's anymore. That paragraph shows me you know little about psychology, more so making personal bias assumptions. I majored in biology (which was a compulsory subject) I don't theorise or guess how things impact on the brain you know ha-ha. I've messaged you my MSN so when you want this "argument" to begin, drop in.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
Don't even get me started on Nature Vs Nurture. It wouldn't be possible to change because you learn to identify with your same sex parent a year before you develop a conscience in your childhood. Therefore, if you fail to identify with your same sex parent and become gay, you are gay before you develop a conscience. Hence why many gays believe "they were born gay" They were gay before they developed the conscience to know so. No it is possible to become gender CONFUSED after the phallic stage of childhood development. Those who were gay before the phallic stage had finished, will never be able to go from being gay to straight. They can have cognitive therapy but this does not make you "not gay" that is a bunch of crap whoever told you that. You can only learn with cognitive therapy to act straight.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
Did you even read my post about the 'its their choice' part?
-
Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
Oh and for the guy somewhere back in the thread who said you can only be gay if you're not a Christian... My ex boyfriends brother is gay. The both of them have been raised by an extremely strict Christian family. So strict that they live at the church more than they live at home. Their son was still gay. I know about 20 gay people, female and male and every single one of them (to support Freud̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s gay theory) had trouble identifying with the same sex parent in the phallic stage of developing identity. For those of you who are preaching "It's a choice" What choice can a child have when having difficulty developing identity with their same sex parent when a child develops a conscience A YEAR LATER than developing identity. In Freud's theory a child becomes straight or fruity a year in their childhood BEFORE they can actually develop a conscience to HAVE A CHOICE. The phallic stage is the third of Freud's psychosexual stages.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
It's becoming more widely accepted each generation anyway. Which might explain the extreme increase in spiritualism̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ. -- I know at least 20 gay people and I love them all the same. I think it's absolutely disgusting when people think they have the right to abuse physically and mentally another human being. When I was younger my best friends brother was gay and it didn't matter where we went, there would be people with trolley poles waiting to get him, or out in the car park near his car to get a punch in before he could get in and what I saw really shocked me. He was only 18 and had been in hospital 4 times. I couldn't give a rat̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s arse if you don't like gays but no one has the right to hurt another person just because of their preference. I respect the Christians so long as they respect me and I respect the people who don't agree with it but I do NOT respect the homophobic that go out of their way to hurt them.

Would you ever get a Tattoo?
I'm hoping it's just bad photos; because that line art looks pretty bad in some places. At least i'ts not going to solid black - solid black tribals ftl; But it seems like it'll turn out fairly well - post another pic when it's finished :) Tell me he didn't colour his arm in permanent marker? I for one couldn't give a monkeys arse what people think about me when they see my tattoo. And not everyone is going to think something at all. Don't over generalise, if anyone should get off their high horse it's you. Don't speak of behalf on everyone, learn to make I statements. Don't they teach that in high school anymore? And if you do judge people by tattoos, that's your opinion and I respect that but you could be potentially missing out on getting to know some really nice people (Obviously all people with tattoos aren't going to be).
