Photographic Proof of a Black Hole?
Point? @ captain I'm pretty sure the event horizon of black holes is not 5 million light years. also, things don't just get torn apart as soon as a black hole is within the proximity to start pulling things towards it. First they are pulled just like anything of small mass is pulled towards something of large mass in space, it stays intact. it's only at a close proximity to the black hole that things experience spaghettification: being pulled into long spaghetti like strands of matter, in the direction of the black hole. also, things don't just make a straight path for the black hole. It is fairly certain that our galaxy is revolving around a supermassive black hole, and obviously we aren't just headed straight for that chubster. Also, you couldn't see a black hole's silhouette even if a galaxy were behind it, or what you're thinking of is something that would emit light from a very far off place, because the light is intercepted by the black hole, or lensed so that it's distorted. You'd only be able to see the outline of where the gravity of the black hole wasn't strong enough to pull the light into it, but it'd still be lensed, hence you'd be seeing things in that outline that weren't really behind the black hole. also, black holes aren't big, they have a big mass. they're pretty small, but have enough matter crammed into them to cause the extreme effects related to extreme gravity, such as slowing down time, and trapping light.

Very pleased with this turnout
eh zoid, your signature is a double negative, you haven't seen nothing yet equates to you possibly have seen everything already.

Photographic Proof of a Black Hole?
It wouldn't matter if we had more powerful telescopes, since all they do is take in light, and the black hole doesn't reflect light, meaning our telescopes can't see them. and yeah, time is a dimension, and there are probably infinite dimensions. 3D is made of infinite slices of 2D dimensions, 2D is made of infinite lines of 1D dimensions... so 4D (time) is made of infinite 'stacks' of 3D, atleast that's how I think of it. we can freely move through three dimensions, but our movement through the fourth is not yet possible for us to control.

these weapons need boosts
dragon mace is actually very powerful, see sig daggers are meant to be less powerful, do you really think people in medeival times went to war using a dagger primarily? long swords are fine, many f2p clans use rune longs as much as scimmies, especially in wars. short swords are supposed to be less powerful battle axes are I believe the second most used weapon type in f2p.

What's the most you've lost?
Some idiot girl stole my rubiks cube in 8th grade, but everyone made her give it back because they liked watching me solve it.

Xil-Ak, Ek, or Em? Worth it?
I got the necklace, sword, and maul the day the necklace came out. I can hit 50s with the maul, and slightly better than the whip with the sword, which looks insanely cool.

Photographic Proof of a Black Hole?
no no no, everything reflects light, not gives it off. the distortion around a black hole is caused by light that isn't captured by the black hole, but bent.

f Those numbers are beefed up a lil bit. it was once possible to get 100 points an hour =\

ah, I read that somewhere, "black hole evaporation" or something. how is a virtual photo turned into a real photon?

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!
huzzah! we had a party on friday, my teacher kept complaining to me that the "reduced fat" chips i brought in were really a 'subtle message about how fat she was' :uhh:

Post Your Superstitions and Strange Coincidences Here!
Randomly throughout the day, sometimes weeks apart, I suddenly get a feeling of deja vu, but it's more that i feel i've dreamed it at one time or another, not actually experienced it twice :? very annoying. one time when I was young though, I lost my jump rope ( ), and that night I had a dream where I was the onlooker during the time that I lost it, and the next day I found it exactly where I had dreamt it was :uhh:

Photographic Proof of a Black Hole?
That's a big word in my dictionary, as it was humans ourselves that created the concept/thory/law of dimensions, so why shouldn't there be more to the three that we have created based on what we alone know? it might be the fact that it's 1:30 here, or that you wording is odd, but I'm not entirely sure i understand what you mean. there are obviously things we know must exist, but we can't understand them. it's ignorant to think that there are a fixed number of dimensions just because we can only freely move within three. If a black hole is a vortex of some kind, by which i mean some hole in space that can transport matter (like in the movies) then it would have to utilize some other than the three first dimensions to be able to move it, since it's just a spherical, really dense ball of matter. any matter that entered this 'vortex' if it is some kind of vortex would be destroyed, possibly turned into mutilated bits of basic elements, as black holes can tear atoms apart.

Photographic Proof of a Black Hole?
If you tried to fly a ship into a black hole you'd never see it actually hit it. Time dilation is so great that close to the singularity that the object would approach the mass (the black hole) at an infinitely slow rate (to outside viewers). If it got close though, tidal forces would rip it apart or it'd be stretched to great lengths via spaghetiffication (should be obvious what this is  ) Black holes aren't like huge vortex tunnel things that you can just fly into, if they do function like that there would have to be more than the three dimensions we can perceive at work.

Photographic Proof of a Black Hole?
That looks more like a quasar to me. http://content.answers.com/main/content ... ration.jpg They're very young galaxies powered by very powerful black holes. Eh most quasars aren't galaxies, they're extremely fast moving stellar bodies. They move near the speed of light, and are thought to have been created during the big bang. the only reason we know that about them is because they're so bright, that we can see their light from the very outskirts of the universe, and it's red shifted (light shifts to the red end of the spectrum when it travels over great distances). If it were a quasar of this type all we would be able to see of it would be a red point of light. that's an artistic rendering, right?

Photographic Proof of a Black Hole?
^^ your post wikipedia: :shame: :^o some matter can actually escape the black hole, at near light speeds, in the jets of incredibly hot and fast matter ejected from the black hole at the opposite sides of the singularity.

Photographic Proof of a Black Hole?
I think this is a frame from a GIF animation on a wikipedia page I saw a while ago. that is what it would look like though, the light bent around the black hole in certain places. Not all black holes are surrounded by planets etc. the kind you're thinking of are supermassive black holes, which are thought to be the centers of galaxies. Black holes do give off super hot matter though, some accelerated to near light speeds =\

Could you post the stats of the necklace, if it has any; someone posted that the dragon bracelet had stats, which surprised me.
