    I got piety

really, where shouldn't you use piety? anywhere that you use melee, prayer will enhance your levels. it's just a matter of if you're willing to spend the extra money, or can justify its by how it speeds up your fighting.
  2. Oh yeah, I remembering doing all the calculus to get accurate estimates of how many seconds t buy and when to use them, but then, they didn't follow the formula they gave us. Gold charms actig as buffer really saved the day, for me. I wrote a series of calculators for summoning that were rendered fairly useless because of those errors. luckily i had enough golds to make up the difference.
  3. i got my first mime trying to catch hellrats with a kitten. it sucks. wait for it to grow, it's time better spent
  4. doing WGS is a great way to ensure you'll always have the potential to make good money... even if you got hacked or you someone royally screwed up and lost the majority of your items, TDS are easy to welfare and still kill at an acceptable rate. I've never been rich but after learning how to TD properly I have more than enough money to do what I please (within reason) on runescape. as for your current situation... you don't seem to know what you want to do with yourself. I don't really understand the idea of a skiller, unless you abhor combat. i think that every player should have a main style account, and whether they want to challenge themselves on other accounts by restricting their set of skills is up to them, but being a low level player, sticking to woodcutting or fishing seems foolish when you don't have the levels to participate in, and therefore can't judge how much you'd enjoy, boss hunting, powerslaying, or whatever other activities you could think of. I used to hate slayer, but getting a chaotic rapier, having enough money to use cannon, etc, have made it enjoyable enough to me to do when i have free time.
  5. very certain that a better tool means you'll gather more of the corresponding resource.
  6. 'bad luck with drops' and having to teleport out are signs you need to do more boss hunting. then the 'bad luck' simply becomes irregularities in the average drop rate, and you get better at it so you won't have to tele out.
  7. you build a photobooth in the dungeon, on the construction hotspot
  8. 10% limit on summoning is too low really anyone else going to be doing large dungeons?
  9. that'd be cool, but i really hope it's not literal in that we have like... distortion screen effects or something.
  10. I guess it's a good thing the rest of us graduated first grade math. i didn't want to have to do this, but i will camp this thread until i pass out if sseli or i get any more crap about this... if special attacks were to cost "sp points", this could have all been avoided. a 10% reduction of the cost of a special attack would then obviously mean that the special attack would cost .9 * the sp point cost of the attack. however, we measure special attacks in percent of the full special attack bar. so when you say percent, it's ambiguous. dragon claw's spec take 45% with the ring 45%+45%=90% 90%+ spec restore's 25%= 115% 45%+45%+45% does not equal 115%. Even if his original math was right, he's complaining before he even understood the mechanics of the ring. tl;dr STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT PVP BEING BROKEN we were under the misconception that it would be 40% for a claw spec, ie, 50% of a special attack bar, minus 10% (we thought of the special attack bar, as in the same units a special attack is measured in), = 40%. 100% + 25% of a pot = 125% = three claw specs with 5% left over </td></tr></table>? which brings me back to my point STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT PVP BEING BROKEN an update is out for 30 seconds and you're already complaining about PVP being broken, every update isn't out to get you. It's annoying to see on the front page of every update how Jagex has broken the game. maybe, before posting PVP IS BR0k3N END OF TEH WORLD!!!! sit back, wait a second, think it over and calm down. interestingly enough i've not once talked about pvp in my posts, and even if i had, we were talking about the problems that would arise, if the ring functioned in a way that it has turned out not to, so it's moot. now i'm just justifying the legitimacy of the flat-rate-reduction-to-the-cost-of=special-attacks-when-wearing-the-ring-of-vigour paradigm, because people are saying that we're idiots who can't comprehend first grade mathematics.

  12. "Special attacks are activated by the player by clicking on the special attack bar under the Combat Options interface." Source: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Special_attacks You learn something new every day. True lol. Ye, can you? How? i still do not see the word "melee" between the words "the" and "special"

  14. Zerker (i) is still useful i imagine some intense pvpers will do a zerker/spec switch if it's a 10% subtraction, i'll use it at tds and switch back to zerk for normal attacks edit: well how would you word a description that meant dragon dagger spec would turn to 15%, claws to 40%, etc? both interpretation are completely valid, due to the fact that special attacks use up 'percentages' of the bar. if it were measured in special attack points there would be no problem, but when i say minus 10%, it's unclear if that means ten percent of the cost of a special attack, or ten 'percentage units' and reduces the cost of any melee special attack by 10% and reduces the cost of any melee special attack bar by 10% -> not too hard to describe it in both ways. They could have messed this up though, but seems unlikely. i didn't know you could even have a melee special attack bar well, if they didn't release those other three rewards because they weren't good enough... they must have been awful
  15. it's ten percent of the percent of the special attack bar that the special attack costs. IE, ring of vigour sucks

  17. well, you thought that the smithing and herblore rewards were rings, so i'm not sure i'd say your interpretation of the ring description was bulletproof.
  18. can someone figure out what 10% means please? so sad that we have to ask that...
  19. well what would happen to dragon dagger specs? 25 - 2.5 = just 23%??? they still only restore spec bar by 10% at a time >_<
  20. so you have to drink a pot therefor it's not in a row. jesus can Jagex release a single update without idiots crying that pvp is broken again? potions don't interrupt combat. if you're any good with F keys, you can unload that many specs while potting and they'll all be in a row. EDIT: above me i was really looking forward do that eye of the warrior thing... but now that i know there is a melee, range, and mage deflector... god damn it, do i really need three different forcefields at tds
  21. LOL what'll piss people off is the fact that it specifies melee only =\ where is the eye of the warrior? maybe they couldn't figure out what item slot it should be either edit: wait wait wait... could it mean that it reduces the amount of special attack bar it uses by 10% of that? IE, d dagger uses 25%, so it'd be reduced by 10% of 25%?
  22. oh yes. and they do not stack.
  23. i believe you have to talk to the geyser to have it boost your range level. it pretty much sucks
  24. Very possible, but I hope not because that would mean another amulet switch in pvp for me and I already have too many -_- you'd eye of the warrior flash when they attack and then switch back for your attacks?
  25. I think making a ring which deflects melee damage is a little redundant... given that we have the ring of recoil. let's just hope it's boots? lol
