First of all i realy have problems beliving all those images used here are free from copyrights, then, again, i'd have no problems at all if ppl didn't make profit off these. You want one ? make it yourself. And no1's saying quality abstracts can't be done or something like that. Actualy i'm saying the right opposite so you'd better double check posts before jumping to some1's neck. If there were no such kind of sigs, based on the image (mainly ripped) then probably you'd see better, more worked on, abstracts around. You must admit that if your sig is 80% made on a premade image and you wanna fill the remaining 20% with an abstract you'll probably just make it quick and clean, while if you had to focus your work ON the abstract you'll produce something way way better.

Well i think i'm not the right guy for that kind of sentence since it looks like in the past 5 months i've made of "Sig request dropping" a 2-nd work. I'm kinda known as "almost impossible to be sent to work" or something like that...so it's not a personal profit i'm looking after. I have no need to expand a market i can't even satisfy right now :wink: . I just find it unfair for those who work hard on their OWN arts, for example you, getting a certain result in hours of work, and then some1 finds an illustration, or CG or whatever, with the same concept and makes a sig in like 10 mins of cropping...And know what ? he'll maybe get more money and better CCs than you. (just a stressed example). That's what i don't find fine. And yes...it's ILLEGAL, and yes i myself would love to see mods (or RULES) close the problem. Edit : Another good aspect of such a "ban" would be forcing ppl to try something new, 100% coming from them, and this could bring to unexpected results for every1.

Since i consider myself able to create something on my own in pixel, then i'd probably be MUCH MORE ANGRY, or probably don't even visit a forum that allowed that... Don't get me wrong, i'd go easy on this problem if ppl didn't sell those sigs. If you'r a big fan of something and you can't draw for your life...then you might even use one if you made it yourself. What i personaly find pretty bad and not correct is that ppl gets paid seling something that's not their own work in almost its totality. Hope it's clearer now.

Well something like "From now on you can't sell or use such sigs here, all made before can still be used."

Ok every1 knows ripping is bad and not tolerated on these boards... Now i just happened to surf Media Market and some of the latest threads in here and my thought was...wtf ? How can we ban ppl for ripping a pixel sig or an abstract from some1 else when we tolerate all those grunge, game or anime related sigs that LIVE on RIPPED IMAGES ? Isn't that pure ripping ? You want an anime guy in your sig ? trace it (meh..) , draw it yourself whatever you want, but don't rip it ! PPl get paid (sometimes a lot) for those sigs they made @ 10% if you'r lucky... while a well worked on abstract or a digital painting (has any1 seen them around lately ?) is considered bad by most of ppl compared to those sigs... Imho a serious media board should prevent any kind of ripping. THIS INCLUDED. Hope some1 out there agrees..

If he hasn't paid you yet, how about a sample on it ? Pretty nice anyway, just some probs with armor and body proportions of the abs i think. A bit more contrast would helpKeep it up, but that's something related to your shading/dithering style. Keep it up

Odd cranium, young DH, you have. Anyway main flaw, not mentioning the cranium shape, is the nose that seems 2 wide (aswell as the distance between the eyes). You look more like a boxer than you probably should. Some more hair would help too. It's still a nice piece. I like it.

I say T-shirt since it's a single piece and it's pretty tight....Very far from what i'd call a rune plate. About the bg...there's a plenty of choices...Duel arena...Wildy...anywhere you figth humanoid monsters...up to you.

Sounds like "New Glass-Climbing World Record" to me. The guy still looks more jelly than metallic. The lines are still messed up, actualy even more since you resized it and lost some pixels along the way. The no face idea looks like a dead end to me. You might go for a metallic face, but not for a grey foorball oval instead of the head. The hand is a mess, literaly. The shading is...kinda disappointing. It looks like some dithering attempt gone wrong. it gives a decent result on the body but mainly fails on the arms, expecialy his left one. Anyway it's not fitting an hot metal surface (as it should be since you plan to have him standing in the flames...). You'd better add some reflections and, very important, tone the whole metal colors to red...since that's the color it will take, being an hot metal (you might go for an almost melting choice...solid red, or a simple reflecting metal...) Keep it up...

Well...The concept is nice...but i hope you'r not serious about the linework. IT's still a mess. Why don't you refine it and post how the final linework will be ? The body position seems ok (maybe his right arm is a bit messed up and the left one, with NO linework on it, seems deformed) Anyway this is not a linework, it's a sketch. Linework should provide a clear, clean idea of the main details of the image and some smaller, yet important ones. And your guy still misses face, armor detail (it looks more like an onion now) and most importantly, all the lines are trembling and dirty and the simmetry of the armor is kinda spoiled by the jelly look the trembling lines give to it, making it look weird. Keep it up anyway. Post the final linework. Might come out something nice.

why 49 ? lol... Anyway first is nicely done...even if it's mainly a ripped image on a brushed/grunge bg with no SFX at all. The text is a pain even if you can fix it in no time at all. About second (That's your sig actualy if some1 above didn't notice) i'm not even sure you wanted it to be rated...anyway anything said above works for that one too. Keep it up (maybe stop making sigs using images you don't have the permission to use, but this is something that ppl tolerate around here, still ripping... )

Let's bring up this post where it deserves to stay (1st page). I wanted to CC it once a bit more developed but there's already a couple things i could notice. First of all i realy loved your hand-drawn version. Second i like the solid look you'r giving to it. As i told somewhere before, i'm not that big fan of sprites and extra heavy dithering cause it gives the drawing a lack of contrast and makes imagines kinda 2d and ethereal. That's just a matter of taste anyway. That's why i was so nicely surprised to see that solid, well contrasted shading on the guy armor. I think if you go on this way it will come out very very very nicely, yet i hope you didn't give up since it's been a while since your last update. Best of luck finishing it the way you like it. wip = work in progress. Its quite obvious that he's not yet done... I'm sure it will look great once he is though ;) Venomai how can you see PILLOW SHADING in this ? :? And no GRADIENT used. All pixels coloured one by one. I don't like the sprite effect that ditering gives to sigs. Using 4-5 colors + dithering should be faster and quicker than shading my way, maybe using 10-20 different colors on a surface (at least for the way i'm used to work). Pillow shading was very offensive... About gradient...Just think outside the box sometimes. Every1 has his own style. Should MrX's sigs be bad since he never changed his black borders and never went into AAs ? I think his sigs work great the way he makes them. And he doesn't follow the typical "pixel" tecnique at all (as i, obviously, don't myself). I don't like the crispy , sprity look that dither gives to sig. I don't see dots in real life. You will not see dots in my sigs (at least in shading). Take it or leave i'd say. All the above has to be read in a veeeeeery light way, since i know you'r a fine person...it's just that i had to say mine about such a HUUUUGE sting :P About the guy just above Venomai, i think he probably didn't like the "gore" aspect of the sig. Thx Godslayer for the support but i think (or hope?) he didn't mean to be as moron as his sentence, read on a different light, might suggest :wink:

Ehi Axe, what's the problem with you against this pic ? And what's so bad with Copy-and paste if what you'r copying and pasting is somethin 100% your work ? I realy don't see the problem there... He's not C&P a guy to make a crowd that will be a hugly (yet funny) frozen clone mass...it's just some party hats and masks that could be supposed to look alike. I think it's very nice for a first try. The guy has some depth and a pretty funny expressions. There's some major flaws in the sig, as you could expect from a 1st try. Those that catch my eyes more are the brushed-like bg i realy can't accept in such kind of sig and the body proportions (with such muscular arms and upper body you should have big enough legs, at least 60% wider). The way it is now could suggest he's also selling some "Spartacus" magazine :wink: . Other than that it's still pretty good, too bad this thread has been ruined by a pointless flamewar. Ok Axe was a bit harsh. Ok you might don't like Axe...but why turning this thread (That's not your own just to let you know) into a battleground. Grow up a bit each of you. Here is a fitting version :
