  1. The tutorial is very well constructed even if i'm not totaly sure the best way to pixel is to start from a freehand that you later resize...i think anything should be done directly in the 300x150 window you work on...but that's just me maybe. Surely will help a lot of ppl out there. Maybe this should be turned into a sticky :) Cheers :)
  2. There is no way you can post .bmp files here. The reason is very simple. Bitmaps are huge since they are not compressed. Only way out is to save your work as gifs, jpgs or pngs. Sorry
  3. It probably might be, but from what i can judge from those shots it's nothing that i realy like. Yet limited versions usualy should tease you enough to buy the final version...and this doesn't...
  4. Yeah, I see sigs everywhere that are split half and half..... Why do you have to be so funny or slow ? You just had (and will have now) one under your nose...actualy with something a bit more realistic than going around as a patchwork...
  5. I don't realy like those. Usualy a mix of two things ends up taking the worst from both.... Now maybe your learning curve didn't get to high levs yet, but i bet with your experience you should have done something way better if it was possible to do. So...i don't realy think that program has that much potential compared to the other 2. What realy bothers me is the lack of any kind of atmosphere in the shots. The rest of the things are , on average, very poor in quality and result. Thumbs down this round...
  6. Not that the idea is so new....
  7. Pixel works better in the small... It's kinda pointless to make something that big in pixel unless you can provide a decent detail and shading. For something that size and of that kind of detail level raster stuff coming off photoshop or even some verctor could have taken to better results imo. 5.5/10
  8. ohhhh poop....
  9. Great pieces like this make me think about getting my drawing equipment out of its dusty box...Lucky me i'm 2 lazy to do that :D Great job as usual. Just maybe the arms/legs are slightly, minimaly unnatural
  10. :? Sounds a bit 2 harsh... It's not that bad afterall...i mean...the concept's funny...The design yet not refined and all...still looks funny in its own way... On the other hand the BG (if we assume it exists) is a pain and linework, shading and characters realy need a lot of work. 6.5/10
  11. Pl0z = 0/10 !!! Now...back to serious stuff. The bg is nice but the whole thing doesn't go very well together. First of all the pink guy doesn't match any color in the bg/text. On the other hand, the font doesn't match "punishment" at all imo. Reminds me of something cartoony that goes maybe well with the guy but not with the bg/concept... Messy triangle there :)
  12. No prob bro, my door is always open :) And wow, nice to hear it's better :D Thx again, every1, for your C/Cs
  13. is this any better ?
  14. This or the one i'm currently using :)
  15. In order to get such a "bright" night scene you should have a veeeeeery strong full moon (and placed in front of the chars...not behind them) or, more likely, a pretty strong light source in front of them. Either cases you CAN'T and i repeat YOU CAN'T see that many stars in the sky, no matter where you are and how much weed you smoked. Accept C/C since ppl that post usualy isn't dumb....expecialy if almost any1 who replied pointed out that.
  16. Yep... i'll reshape her chin and work a bit over the land on the right in my next version (that is tomorrow since i'm not gonna open GG again today lol) I wasn't that sure myself about those 2 details and your feedback proved me right *sniffles* . Thx again for your C/C everyone, it's helpful as usual.
  17. THOSE SUCK !!! 8) 8) 8) Sorry i couldn't help myself lol... Well seriously speaking i think they'r pretty nice overall. One thing i could point out is that you can't manage to give the right depth field to your sigs. I.E the first one has no real BG. The second one is probably the worst under this point of view since the faraway mountains seem on the saim plain of the foreground hill...plus the bg castle is shaded while the mountains are not...realy hard for the eye to find out the right infos in that pic. The 3rd and 4th have the opposite problem...You have an infinite orizon...that's actualy impossible in RL. You'll always have a hill...a river...or something changing the shape of the orizon or...more likely, covering it after a certain distance. It's always wise to add something in the distance that somehow cuts the depht field to a specific point....having the eye running to the infinite gives a realy odd result to me. Another hint i could give you is to texture anything in your pics. It's realy odd to see something well detailed and textured standing in a world that lacks of any kind of texture...it's like taking a pic of Batman in one of his films and sticking it on a DC comic...The result would be a mess for the eye, if you get what i mean. Last but not least i'd say your sigs lack of a "soul"...or, in other words, a storyline/concept. Don't get me wrong, illustration sigs are still good but i think that in your pool of sigs you should reserve to those just a small room, mainly to show ppl how nicely your drawing skills improved. The rest should be concept sigs imo. Buyers prefer full personalized sigs and you must match their tastes as much as you can. Funny concepts sell way faster/higher than illustrated sigs :) KEEP IT UP !
  18. Eheh...the explanation wasn't totaly aimed to you...let just say there's a lot of ppl asking why i use it and how it does work...however i see your point now you express this way and it seems reasonable somehow. However i think AA is part of pixel work itself. I'm not doing sprites or isometrical pixels so i prefer to get a nicer. softer look. That's mainly all about it, just a matter of taste i guess. However i can assure you that , in this case at least, the pre AA version wasn't that far from the final version mainly because the whole image is color based. About vectors i doubt i can get the same results due to the way 2 clean and somehow cold look you get using those...maybe with raster graphics...but i don't find it as funny/challanging as this.
  19. Now, i think we gotta consider this pixel comparing it with his first one. Under this point of view he realy improved a lot, you must admit it. Yet there's still a lot of work to do since you'r still far behind from a good result (even if i think you'r working the right way somehow). 1st thing to point out is the scale of things...Humans twice as big as trees ? The shading is still very primitive with 1 or 2 (if lucky) additional colors on an element...Also remember that nothing shades according to vertical divisions (unless it's a plain vertical wall and light comes from the orizon...). You should shade according to the light source and, mainly, to the shape of the object you'r working on...that means that its bumps generate shades aswell as its overall shape ( a cube generates a certain shading while a sphere makes another...think about it ). It's nice to see your anathomy is somehow humanoid now, yet remember there's some fixed relations between head and the rest of the body parts...(i.e. chest is about 2 heads...whole arms are 3 (1.5+1.5) and so on)) and that a messed up anathomy usualy kicks the viewer's taste more than anything else (at least for me...anathomy is the first thing i point out if it's wrong). It's nice to add some details on the bg but remember that details, in order to realy help your work, need to be done the best possible way...else you end up with a feeling of fast, cheap drawing. Don't exceed in those, however, if in nature you don't see so many...for example your starfield is good for a space scene, as pointed out earlier...but for a wildy night ? I don't think so. The moon then is a real pain...IT's pretty easy to use a circular tool, why didn't you do yourself ? Now i personaly don't know what else to add...so just read this and try to improve your next work. Keep it up ! NOTE : WORK IN THE SMALL...there's no need for huge surfaces in pixel...Making a scene bigger to cover your problems making small details usualy won't help you much.
  20. Mmm i don't realy think there are insults in my C/Cs nor there's supposed to be a single one. If it looks like that, then i apologize. However what i was trying to remark is that he still needs to improve in his sigs. If he lets his friends make what he can't do, he'll never improve his skills. Now the point is...if i wrote it down this calm and relaxed way the first time, would he realy stop and think about it for 1 second ? I think no.... Anyway i'm always open to pms from ppl that wants to talk about pixels or get some private C/Cs. (Just don't send 10 pms a day  )
  21. Yeah i considered both your suggestions but discarded them. The sun wasn't that hard to place but would have changed the overall light, introducing some way 2 strong colors i didn't want in the scene (i aimed for something romantic, not 100% realistic). About the birds, well the heart shape is a classic...and that's its real problem. I'm not that big fan of obvious things if they can be avoided. Thx for the feedback anyway, it's always welcome ! :D
  22. Are you joking ? did you notice how long my C/C is ? I spent a good amount of time writing it and i gave you a real C/C. You didn't get what you expected ? maybe then you needed to open your eyes on your works so that from now on you can actualy focus on some improvements. Nothing i wrote down implied the concept "Give up you noob" or something like that. The main problem is that if you 'r asked to give a feedback, you have to do it. Adding sugar to the pill usualy ends up being a problem rather than an help. If something was wrong in my C/C was that it lacked this sentence : "Keep trying, you'll get better".
  23. I don't use paint, i use Graphics Gale due to faster palette interface and a useful layer system (it provides you a 1 color FULL transparency so that you don't mess up the whole drawing if you make mistakes on the finishing details).Text is in photoshop of course... Other than that stick to your 3d models or learn that you can antialiase in pixel 2...
  24. 4th if you don't want feedback don't make such posts...plus you should try to work to reach the top, not to stand 1 step above the worst....just my opinion however...
