  1. Then what do you mean they have the same advantages over rangers as they do melee? They can't bind or attack nearly as often.
  2. When I was a noob, I tried to go pking with my addy plate, legs, and longsword... Yeah... I never underestimated rune scimitars again :( I was devastated, took me forever to get the money back. That is, until i learned how to merchant 8) Geeze, mine isnt anywhere as bad as some others here...
  3. You're forgetting something. Range's dragonhide provides excellent defense against magic, making it hard to bind them, let alone hurt them. I disagree with you. These spells would give mages total dominance over melee, without giving them even a chance.
  4. Touche' with the 104 part. However mage isn't supposed to be stronger as in being able to hit more, but to have advantages over. As I mentioned, they can bind (making melee useless), and their attacks are particularly useful against their armor. It would be impossible to have each class be stronger than the other, anyway. someone's got to hit the hardest.
  5. ah- HA! But the melee is useless from a distance, and any smart pking mage is probably going to bind, walk a distance, and attack! THAT is why melee is so strong, and also why the triangle is balanced. These new spells would just imbalance the triangle. And you still fail to answer my question of how one would get 104 magic.
  6. Let's consider what it takes to hit a 79 full dharoks 99 strength less than 5hp Super Strength pot Ultimate Strength Prayer Amulet of Strength Fire Cape Berserker Ring Gauntlets Climbing boots note the less than 5hp. If your opponent is at less than 5hp He or she is probably going to do the following: He or she may already be dead teleport (if allowed) Be teleported by ring of life (if you aren't using berserker) Try to run take the risk of dying and try to get one last hit. Considering that the opponent may be using prayer, that you may already be binded, and that the speed of the greataxe is incredibly slow, a 79 is extraordinarily unlikely possibility. And who is going to risk a fire cape in the wilderness, when it takes several hours to get it assuming you already have exceedingly powerful stats? And when you say they could use de-powering, are you finally agreeing with me? And for the seercull bow, i dont see why mages dont just bring super restore potions. People weren't offended by you using "gullible", you were just misusing it. Ignorant was the word you were probably looking for, and either way you would be wrong. And if you say it is so unbelieveably rare to see one of these spells casted, why even have them? You didnt answer my question about getting 104 magic, either.
  7. hah! and this gullable person explained what im saying! Please don't assume that if one contradicts a thread means they did not read every single post. I read all your posts, and i still believe they are still far to strong and incredibly expensive to even be remotely practical. Either way, it doesnt matter how hard it is to obtain the runes or that there is a less than 100% chance to cast the spell, the fact that the spells could even possibly be successful would leave mages with total dominance in any pvp fighting. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but skill bonuses are not cumulative, so when you drink a mage pot, your maximum level would be 103, even if you try drinking a mind bomb, so Target would not even be possible. By the way, there's this neat new book I found. It gives you both the correct spelling and uses of every word in the english language! :o It's called the "Dictionary", ever heard of it? Perhaps you should look up the meanings of "gullible" and "ignorant".
  8. Sorry, writing a post like this at 11:00 o'clock after just finishing off an entire bottle of sparkling cider made it look a bit more sloppy than my initial inspiration had warranted. HOWEVER, I have finally remembered what I read that sparked me to write this. Jagex' Corporate Website wrote: THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is what made me realize the end of RuneScape is coming closer. Jagex' Corporate Website can be found here. Let me add this into the first post... And how the heck did people start talking about pokemon?
  9. I think having a free-trial of members would be a better idea. Of course, F2P is sorta a free trial in itself.
  10. What would be the point of RuneScape 3? Would it just be even more graphics? Then the cycle would start over again! Although I must say i've had dreams about what an RS3 would look like...
  11. All these spells are far to strong and incredibly expensive to even be remotely practical. And whats up with having level 100+ spells?!? And what is the point of a love potion? Even if that DID happen, wouldn't it be part of herblore? I dont see any reason for bleeding runes either, except to give runecrafters the upper hand in the economy.
  12. If you dont want to read most my babbling, dont read until you see me say PINOCCHIO Over the past year and a half, Runscape has evolved at an exponential rate. Dozens and dozens of new quests, equipment, items, places, and even minigames have come out since the release of RS2. If you look on the official RuneScape World Map, you can see the black, unfilled area has gotten smaller and smaller over the months. This astounding rate of advancement begs once question to be asked: How much further can it go? Let's consider Runescape Classic. Rune armor and weapons were unquestionably dominant, and those who had it were held in the highest respect. Mages were still stuck with mage robes, and rangers with leather. In a few months, the Dragon Longsword was introduced, ushering in the RSC Dragon Age. The Dragon Dagger, Battleaxe, Mace, Med Helm, and Square Shield, after completing Legend's Quest (correct me if d sq.'s weren't in rsc, i'm going off of my pricate research here). The Underground Pass quest gave mages the incredibly powerful Iban Blast. Several less meaningful quests were also created. Not very much for RuneScape Classic, Eh? A nice, steady, and generally unchanging environment. Of course there was a reason for this. Jagex were working on the all-new 3D RuneScape 2, which was finally released into the public. THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is where life in RuneScape really began to spice up, for better or for worse. An innumerable amount of updates have flooded into RuneScape 2 since its release. To name a few: Several new dragon items, halberds, claws, spears, RuneCrafting, Dragonhide, Crystal Items, Fremminik helms, Prayer Books, a whole lotta minigames including fishing trawler, Duel Arena, Mage Arena, Castle Wars, Holiday Events, Magic Bows, Slayer Skill, Farming Skill, more powerful poisons, Cook X, Armored Boots, Abyssal Whips, Granite Mauls, Treasure Trails, Morytania, Elven Lands, Miscellania, Keldagrim, The Kalphite Queen, Dragon Chain, Dragon Legs, The Wise Old Man,TzHaar and their Obsidian items, Ancient Magics, Splitbark Armor, Mystic Robes, Waterbirth Armor, Dagganoth Kings, The Fight Pits and the Fire Cape, BARROWS, and many, many, many others. As you see, dragon items began to replace Rune Items, and Barrows items began to replace Dragon items. The Obsidian Cape replaced the Legends cape, and the Fire Cape replaced the Obsidian cape (at least, those able to get it). Abyssal whips would make dragon weapons obsolete, if it weren't for its inability to train strength. Many new items were nerfed, such as the MSB, Rune Thrown Axe, Granite Maul, and Abyssal whip. The wilderness became more interesting with Barrows, Ancient magicks, and the Seercull bow. Whether or not my above evidence is closely enough related to my point, I shall express it nonetheless... Ahem... PINOCCHIO My Point: Yes, RuneScape is an incredibly diverse and complex game with seemingly endless possibilities, but, what is left? after carpentry and POH's come, what is there left to do, but finish off the Plague City Storyline (and elemental magi and wise old man :?)? WHAT IS NEXT?!?! Jagex' Corporate Website wrote: THIS, is what will happen. RuneScape will be scapped, and something new will take place. (Yes, scrapped, a game replacing RS2 will likely have the same effects as RS2 had replacing RSC.) Jagex' Corporate Website can be found here.
  13. Very few of the names in runecsape are just thought up out of thin air. A Mjolnir I think is the hammer of the Norse god Thor, literally translated as "thing that smashes" (dont see why they made it into a spear then lol)[like hohto said] . Obsidian, like mithril, is used in other fantasy rpgs. As for the TzHaar and their items, well, I guess those are one of the very few names in runecsape that are just thought up out of thin air
  14. When they first came out with dark beasts with MEP2, on the forums I heard someone offering 300mil for a "Dark Axe", and another person complaining in rants about being killed by one in the wilderness. Seeing now that the items and weapons forums no longer has any discussion of "Dark Axes", I just assume those that had never seen a black hatchet or battleaxe before assumed it was a new rare weapon (Or they were just your common, everyday scammer with exceptionally high slayer skill :D). Yeah, overall I agree they need something... preferably dragon boots, since I'd hate to see all these people who saved up for a whip only to have another ultra-powerful weapon come out. EDIT: Oh, and dont forget they drop death talismans 8)
  15. OHHHHH Yeah I have OCE alright. I examine everything i see, even though i've already examined it a billion times... I especially like examining heather, since their examines vary. It just ever so slightly breaks up the monotony of training or traveling
  16. That's exactly the kind of thing that would happen to me
  17. I split my sides when I read this post. Here's the thread it came from Thanks for showing me how to do that :D
  18. I beg your pardon, its just a subject I feel incredibly strongly about. We don't "experience the land" you say? and those woodcutter spending their time in Seers' DO?? And what I dont understand most is why people say skill workers work harder than merchanters. That is the most absurd argument I've ever heard. Lets say the number of clicks of a mouse to get woodcutting to 75 = number of keystrokes to obtain money for merchanting and to practice and learn. Lets say for every click of a mouse, you get 2 magic logs. You clikck 14 times, get 28k. A merchanter does this Selling x stuff!!! 10K!!! -----Player name That takes 44 keystrokes by my count, assuming you are just typing in plain old yellow, without any special chat effects (which several merchanters use) World 1 or 2 being as busy as it is, you probably wont be heard the first time you say it, so lets say you type that in 5 time before getting a trader. Thats 220 keystrokes (again without special effects). This person will either give you exactly what you're looking for, or just be some scammer or other person you will ultimately decline with. Then you will have to repeat the proccess a few times. Lets see... 14 clicks for one round of woodcutting, 220 keystrokes for one round of merchanting Who is doing more work, hm? (I'm sorry, again as I said, this is a subject I feel very strongly about )
  19. Um, call me stupid, but why is this article dated December 31, 1969 on the homepage? Is that the author's birthdate or something?
  20. That's incredible. I never really thought much about that phrase, until reading this.
  21. I don't see why it has to be a whole new skill. Why can't it just be an add on to crafting? I know this sounds stupid, but I don't like having to scroll down to see all my spells... I'm going to be really frustrated when I have to scroll down to see all my skills
  22. I definitely "give". As for more cakes, I think it would be cool to have a pineapple upside down cake, or a strawberry on top of those otherwise plain cakes, however it does cut down on time for other, BIGGER updates. However, the addition of baked potatoes might be a clue Jagex is willing to compensate for the weeks we will be waiting anyway.
  23. Miscellania, duh  I like to boss people around there... FISH MY FISHING SLAVE!!! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
  24. Ugh... I know, I hate how mages can't use spells if their level is lowered... I used to be a member, If I was PKing as a member i'd just just GIVE all my stuff to every person with a dragon axe or seercull bow just so I wouldn't have to waste my time and be embarassed not being able to cast the spells I had brought so many runes for... By the way, I like your cabbage avatar :D
  25. That is the most stereotypical poem about merchants I have ever read. Merchants are commonly confused for scammer. GOOD merchants do not lie and scam. SCAMMERS do. And who's to say merchants don't train skills? I merchant, and I love to craft and smith. Don't assume that because you see many of us shouting in falador or varrock all the time means we are actually there "all the time"
