About the scam, a friend of mine bought the book for 100k, then, even without realising that it was a scam, be traded it with me for my glory ammy, as I thought it was the Mage Book. When I realised that, and explained that to him, he actually gave a dragon longsword in exchange of the book!, even if we had met for like 10 minutes only. It's hard to see, but there are many honest people left there in Runescape.

Maybe hackers, as if there were the "real" hackers, they'd be trying to access an IRL bank, and not a RPG. So, the hackers in Runescape would be the people that make sites like this one, saying that you can get 300M and a set of party hats by downlading a file.

But, as many of the people selling and buying rares are merchanting with them, they keep a lot of money in something like a "separate market". Now, if all that money went to the "normal" market, and hundreds of millions went into it, pricse would rise.

When I was a f2p (a bit ago) I had enough space for almost everything. Sure, once in a while I had to drop that hammer I could buy for 1 gp, of that Chef Hat I didn't really need as I never went to the cooking guild anymore, but I managed to have some spaces left there. Did it annoy me? Sure it did. But then I talked my dad into letting me use his credit card and was happy ever after So, I'm 100% sure we could help you with your bank if you need it that bad.

Well, from what i gather (and observed in my 1 year of play), more money keeps coming into the market than going out. People keep finding ways to make money, but very little is taken out of the economy. This, i gathers, is mostly from high alching, especially of magic longbows. What rares do is provide a sort of sink for that money. People invest their insane amounts in a discontinued item. It aslo supposedly stops merchants from hoarding up other items like ores and runes and charging higher prices for those. So aren't they and their high actually good to the economy by stopping inflation?

It seems Jagex has lately been searching for methods of removing cash from the game to reduce inflation, so they might actually put something like this in it. There cold also be an official Runescape lotto. For example, there are 100 numbers and 100 "series" making 10k possible combos. There are 10 different pieces of each combination, each costing a set amount of money. If, for example, they costed 1k each, the price would be 10M for the whole 10 pieces, or 1M each piece. Then jagex would get out of the game 90M in just a simple game. *Correct me if I calculated wrong, as it's a bit late here and I'm sleepy

Well, I support the ideas (except the "monsters whose names start with D" one). Slayer is suposedly that you learn the weaknesses of the monsters, so, after some levels, slayer masters could make you "tests" based on previous assignments. For example, "Kill 60 monsters that are resistant to melee attacks".

Well, since I became a member of Tip.it I've seen a lot of posts like this one. Some where childishly made, and some actually had mature solutions to the problem. But now I have a question: How do rares actually affect the economy?

One must remember though, that to not to be inflation, one of two events must happen. 1) Less income in the overall cash. Less money to buy things, but not less things to buy, so, prices drop. OR 2) More items overall. More items to be bought between players, but not more money to buy them, so, prices drop.

Zezima just has 99 in every skill, not the number 1 score in every skill. About that guy, he impresses me a lot. :shock:
