  1. It happens every year doesn't it? If it weren't for the relationship sticky we'd be flooded with relationship threads until March. As well as the "life sucks and nobody understands me" phase near the beginning of winter. If I only had enough determination and free time I'd make a comprehensive analysis of these forum cyclical phases.
  2. Well, because students have quite different backgrounds in my school, our teacher allowed us to use any kind of English, as long as we kept the same style throughout essays so I never had any troubles with this. British is and has been simpler for me because that's what I was taught as a kid.
  3. Well, I guess we can say mods won this round and lower the number...
  4. It's really hard for me to remember any dreams at all, but this is the one I last remembered. It started in my school, where I learnt that aliens had killed half of humanity, those that they considered "unfit". I remember seeing a guy crying over her dead girlfriend, and me seeing corpses all over the football field. There was I, thinking about the problems that would arise soon, like producing food and getting it to the rest of the population in the country. Suddenly, someone was explaining me how we had already have contact with aliens before. An American helicopter in the Middle East had spotted a mysterious object in their radars, and thinking it was an enemy aircraft, demanded to know about them. The aliens, being the arrogant bastards they are, tried to make fun of the soldiers and lied to them, but failed with a burst of laughing, and later revealed their identity, and their plans of killing every other human being as part of a large-scale social experiment. Meanwhile, I observed this as a flashback in a movie. Then, the setting moved to my house. My brother had also been killed, and my father had decided to move out somewhere else. And then my mum woke me up.
  5. Well, now that I finished Majora's Mask, I'll be off playing Chrono Cross, another seemingly underrated sequel. By the way, Yeni, posting in another languages is prohibited unless you provide an accurate translation, so please fix that or I'll have to burn your house.
  6. So I finished the game. Here's my little review: Majora's Mask takes the concept of time far beyond the limits of OOT: at last, the Song of Time will affect time and not just random blue boxes. The obscurity and darkness of the game really gives it a distinct appeal, and having to run against the clock adds to its intensity. The story is also very complex, encompassing so many different people you can help in some way or another, and its quite full of feelings. Frankly, the scene with the little girl and ger father brought a couple of manly tears to my eyes. Even though the lack of dungeons is somewhat disappointing, their complexity and originality wholly made up for any other lacks. The Stone Tower and the Great Bay Temple will surely stick in my mind for a good while. Not to mention the Final Battle, although I'd have made it a little harder. Personally, I'd locate MM en par, or even on a higher stance than OOT.

It doesn't have to be solely about food you know. You can make a vow not to insult anyone any more, or to start facing hard situations instead of avoiding them. And maybe you broke them just because you're human, and even your best try won't be enough. But maybe you are still trying hard, and you feel that those broken vows still help you be a better person. If you get my drift.
  8. Glad as always to oblige my friends and neighbours. *bows* But really, it's a great and under-rated game.
  9. I'm playing Majora's Mask at the moment, and I can truly say it's one of the best games I've ever played.
  10. Oh, what a great idea! You're truly a bright kid. I'd personally agree with lowering the flood limit if we had this "mute" tool -just for emergencies like spammers. I say we poke the admins around to hear what they have to say about this.
  11. Oh, hi there. Have I been missed?

Please post all your questions in Help and Advice. Yes, I'm pretty sure that once you have an overgrown cat you can get a new kitten. Here's Tip.it's Pet Care guide.
  13. :D I've always kept coming back here because of the welcoming community, and when I discovered Off-Topic I was charmed by the friendly atmosphere and all those interesting discussions. Surely I've become much wiser through Tip.it, and it even helped me build part of my political, moral and religious views.
  14. That's about 5-7 years too young for me. I'll recommend you Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. If you liked Brave New World, you'll love 1984 by George Orwell. It's way better in my opinion. I just read the manga for Death Note. But you could also recommend me a good sci-fi book (on the lines of the Foundation series) though.

Yes, indeed, we already have an active thread for all jokes in Forum Games here. So I'll be locking this one.
  16. Not really. Unless you were counting in base 3.
  17. Replace molecular biologist with with biochemist or cognitive neuroscientist (undecided on that one) and that's mine :P and then I really want to _do_ something, though. I don't want to sit around working at a desk my whole life. And now my posts are generic and my dreams seem mere clichés. Just replace "warrior" with "assassin". And perhaps "theoretical" physics with "experimental" physics, but that'd be it.
  18. Let's play non-mod. 13 JK. 0
  19. See? You just made my day. Being a mod might be hard work, but heck it's rewarding.
  20. So, your dreams has become true and a new sticky has been created. \ I'll be locking this thread for the sake of keeping the forum clean, so please continue your discussion there. Thanks!
  21. And I'll give you the chance to count to seven again. Glad, as always to oblige my friends and neighbours. :
  22. Tip.it Staff is a huge conundrum of volunteer workers, and it might get confusing sometimes, so I'll try and explain it to you shortly. Admins are the higher ups, who usually work behind the scenes. Mods are the ones responsible for the forums. (A supermod is some kind of hybrid between admin and mod) Crewbies are the ones responsible for the main site. Got it? ;) It feels so good to help other users. :D
  23. Why didn't you keep on reading that article? That pretty much answers your own question. Remember the event horizon is no concrete boundary where the black hole "ends", so you shouldn't really be measuring its density there.
  24. I'll tell you why this game is much more fun for mods than for other users. For you, this is just about trying to count, posting quickly and constantly, and the only point is to reach a number. However, for a mod, it's a psychological and cunning game of wits. Not only do we get the chance to ruin your joy, which is fun in itself, but we get to -almost subconsciously- contend each other. Resetting your count at 2 or 3 isn't that funny, you see, so we sometimes let you reach higher numbers -this way it's more entertaining to us. However, shall someone else reset your count, my own chance gets ruined; I "lose", so to say. So, we have "compete" for your posts, letting you get a higher count -for our own fun-, but not too much so another Mod won't get that count. See? It's much more complicated -but rewarding- for us. So, you are being used as toys by us; you finally get to know the whole truth. You'll surely succumb to the feeling of uselessness and despair, and cease your petty trials, making us win. Or you'll insist, you'll keep on posting and you'll increase our pleasure. You'll let us enjoy ourselves at your expense, making us win. Make your choice, mortals.
