I'd save Jeff any day. I couldn't live with myself regretting I had the chance to save a life but didn't. I don't even know if I'll ever have children. :lol: I'd teach by example and not be hypocritical. I would try to become a friend of my children, having them feel I'll be there for them when they have troubles -a distant and cold father is worse than an authoritarian father. I'd teach them the ways of respect and compassion to others, but let build their own moral code. I wouldn't spoil them with toys or money, but I'd always support their interests, be it the piano or marine biology. Most importantly, I'd always try to explain my actions to them. If I punish my kid, I'll be sure explain him why his actions were wrong, and why I'm punishing him. Answer all their questions with honesty and never be arbitrary.

Dont really agree with that. Megathreads are pretty confusing and if it's the only place you can discuss a broad subject such as sport, discussion would be disorganised. There may also be many reposts etc. I think he's talking about Megathreads like this one. They are not the "only places" where you can discuss sports. Instead, they are formed naturally because sport threads are uncommon. I simply don't see the need to make more sub-forums. :|

I think he meant that those topics are only discussed along religion, while real scientists might be more busy with other problems. Anyway, it seems to me that you might be lost with religion. At the end, it wouldn't matter if you believe in Evolution or Gravity, but how you acted throughout your life, right? Religion is more about morals and ethic than prophets stopping the sun or splitting the seas. Jesus himself used plenty of parables as lessons to his followers, so why not assume the Bible is but a large parable trying to give you a moral, and not a historical lesson? Accepting Evolution won't undermine Christianity as much as you fear.
