My high school was the exact same way. Now I'm in college and I'm getting letter grades and have a 4 point grading system and it's completely foreign to me. lol

On a more serious note, though, it might be because they can record a suicide video, rather than a note, and they might figure that after they say their goodbyes, they might as well leave the camera running. If it is for fame, though, it's a better alternative than shooting up a school/mall then killing themselves.

I always thought that it was just the pressure of a full bladder that told us we needed to go. Like if you've ever waited a really long time to pee or drank lots of water before bed, once you pee there's a very obvious pressure release. And if it's possible to stop mid-stream, then it's not biologically impossible. :P

Holy [cabbage]... That would be awesome! It is possible to kinda-sorta control your heartbeat, though. If you speed up or slow down your breathing, your heart rate will follow. I used to do it in my gym class when we had to wear heart rate monitors. I'd breathe fast for a minute to get my rate up then be able to do nothing. One of the better units in gym. :lol:

I think you should read my post again. If someone wants to kill themselves, they will succeed. The people who want help take a handful of aspirin and a sleeping pill. They won't die because they don't want to. They want help and that's their way of reaching out. And judging by what you said here, I think it's you who's the "smug smartass." This kid was already over the edge; there was nothing any of the users could have said to stop him. Also, it's not "everyone's problem," especially not those who watched. There was really no way they could help. If they called 911, there was probably little to no viable information they could provide.

Not really. There's still a book that's coming out by Stephenie Meyer. It's Twilight, but from Edward's perspective. :thumbdown: The manuscript was leaked a while back and the work on it has been postponed/halted. It probably will be released, but just in a couple years. And although I like the series, I have to say that the movie does look pretty [cabbage]ty. The characters aren't well casted, the effects are third rate, and it completely changes key scenes in the book. I think they just wanted to make as much money as possible from the Twilight franchise before the fangirls even thought about moving on, so they quickly threw together a movie. Honestly, I think it was kind of pathetic because I like Twilight and movies, but I don't think I'll ever see this one.

Exactly; they're separate crimes. If a someone has a revelation or something right before they kill their victim and decide not to kill them, they shouldn't be punished the same as if they had.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how the audience "egged him on." It seems like he just wanted to broadcast his death and all his audience is guilty of is watching him. And they act like they had a million ways to help him. What could they have done? Called 911? "Hi, there's this guy on the internet who said he took some pills and now he's sleeping. I don't know where he is, but his room's blue. HELP HIM!" :roll: Also, his father said that he thinks the broadcast was a cry for help. However, it doesn't appear that way seeing as how his son's dead. Those who want to die usually succeed in suicide, but the people who attempt suicide don't want to die, they want help. Personally, I'd like to know how his father tried to help him through his problems, rather than just medicating the hell outta him.

Statistically, while the majority of marijuana-users will never make the leap to "harder" drugs, it has been shown that most "hard" addicts originally drank/used marijuana before moving on. This is where the "marijuana is a gateway drug" claim comes from. Just because "hard addicts" have used marijuana before, doesn't mean that it was the cause for them going to harder drugs. If I killed someone after I played GTA, that doesn't necessarily mean that GTA caused me to kill them.

Isn't the topic "different" pretty much the exact same thing? haven't looked at it... :? but guessing by the title thats about being different from society, whereas this is pretty much the opposite, therefore making it not the excact same thing? To Quoi and mega: Yea, tattoos might not look good in 50 or 60 years, but (if they're done right) they'll look pretty kick [wagon] for a long time. Everyone always uses that argument against tattoos, that they'll end up regretting it when they're old and their skin has migrated south, but who cares? They're old and most likely will die soon, why do their bodies have to look decent? So an open casket at the funeral is possible? [bleep] no. Personally, I think that if people lived for the moment rather than the future, their lives would be much more enjoyable.
