I can play doom, arguably the most violent, sadistic game series created, and not feel the urge to go slaughtering people. If you're blaming school shootings mainly on video games, you're neglecting other much more crucial aspects.

It would have been even lower yet if one of the intructors or even the other students also had been armed and could have defended themselves properly. As others have pointed out, that's a poor argument. You're suggesting a fix to the problem by adding what causes the problem into the scenario. The whole idea is a futile attempt at justifying guns.

There is no such thing. How do you define an accent then? By that you mean there's a particular "stereotypical" way in which gays decide to talk but its not an accent? :? You can have gays with a pommy accent, with a yank accent, with an asian (sorry for the generalisation there, to any asians) accent, with a russian accent, with a german accent, french, italian, etc, etc. 'Gay' is not an accent. One definition of sorts could be that an accent is aquired by the language you speak and the subsequent barriers it puts on your tounge to pronounce words of other languages (well, generally; there would be other factors, I'm sure).

The guy snapped and grabbed a weapon that was at hand. He wasn't thinking rationally "Hey, I need to kill as many people as possible, what are the options?" I seriously doubt that he carefully planned his rage. If he hadn't had a weapon available to him, he might have done other freaky stuff, but he simply wouldn't have been able to take 33 people with him. He would have raged, physically attacked people, but things would probably not have been this bad. As others have commented on, I doubt that this attack wasn't planned. He bought the guns in the weeks leading up to the attacks, made videos, took pictures, wrote his own eulogy/elegy of sorts, directed his distaste for the culture of rich kids and commented on his future actions i.e. 'you forced me to do this, the blood is on your hands/whatever' and had the plan to take five and mail his little package of hate to NBC during killings.

I agree, therefore why the vision of hell being without god makes more sense. A firey hell screams sadism and cruelty. Does any christain here think that eternal damnation in the more guesome version of hell is just? Hypothetically, of course.

They can just revert your attention away from what thier trick is, be it through an object, mirrors or appealing to an act that generates all of your attention. No doubt that some are great at what they do.

Life here, as we know it, is what we make it. It's all hinged on the choices we make and how we develop. It can be hell or heaven; it all depends on our attitude and actions.

Well, we westerners are an egocentric bunch. We think, ney, we know we are the best and will generally only report on our own issues. Same goes for any other sphere of the populace with a media outlet. To put it depressingly, if we started reporting every atrocity in the world, we'd kind of stretch the alotted half our/hour of daily news by a fair way.

That's where I have issues (although the fact that hell is merely 'without god' and not some mythical demon lake of fire type place helps). We are't all that bright, in comparison to god and all. We make mistakes. We follow the wrong things and devote our lives to the wrong things because we all, in our finite minds, *know* we are right. What if that yearning for truth sends us to some firey pit for eternity? (even though it's good to hear it's likely nothing like that). Fair? Essentially, we all want to know the truth. We all feel we do and it would seem we were made/evolved to do just that. If, for some sadistic reason, the consequence of this is to burn in the lake of fire in agony and misery for eternity, I'd be royally peeved. Thus why the idea of hell being 'without god' seems much more sensible and fitting and in which case, truth be told, I'd get what I deserve.

No. They'd grab at it with both hands. You think the fat american kid is going to give a damn about how his burger was raised either? No. But it's not like he needs it to survive. It's like this: If you need it to survive(like animals do) then it is natural. But since so many people in the richer countries(Specifically here in America) have got past the need to eat meat for survival, it is now just for the taste. A life for taste? That's just not right. That is why America needs to ban it. If other countries could ban it too that would be great. And in the case of the poorer ones, hey maybe we could start exporting food rather than soldiers and war! But that's a different subject.. Anyway, this is just wishful thinking, I doubt we'll ever have a ban on meat eating. But I see no excuse not to ban hunting...ug okay, Off-topic. I feel like summoning the wrath of god from my fist to thier faces. This really does worry me that after such a tragic event they can't see past thier own noses to any shred of compassion or common decency. The Virginia Tech shooting was a pointless crime from a clearly deluded person. I think it's about time the NRA tried to help the problem rather than just send condolances and wash thier hands with the whole issue (If they actually do help with gun safety, responsibility and restrictions, sorry, I'm not aware but would like to hear about it).
